We were looking at itineraries for next school year over fall break (Oct 2019) and spring break (March 2020). Although we kind of preferred the March itinerary, March 2020 just sounded so far away! Also, we figured we should keep spring break of DS’s junior year open for potential college visits. So we win by getting to cruise earlier! There’s less time to save up for PIF, but I have a solid plan!
For early bookers like us, what do you guys do about travel insurance? I typically go with a plan from Travelex and their requirement for having pre-existing conditions covered is to purchase the policy within 21 days of initial deposit. I let that date come and go without purchasing the policy, thinking that we may possibly change our minds about which cruise to take, or re-book the same cruise if we see a lower rate. So if we keep this booking and purchase the policy later, the pre-existing clause is gone forever. Does anyone else worry about this kind of thing as they’re falling asleep, or is it just me?
Did anyone else hear about the big coke bust on MSC Seaside? Many kilos and six figures in cash found smuggled aboard by some crew members. They say that Carnival is the big party cruise line, but I think it’s MSC!
