Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Going "home" for the holidays again this year. This one is gonna be extra special.

We've been going every year (but 2011) since 2009. Last year was a bit of a stinker. We had family friends with us who just could not be pleased and they kinda killed our enjoyment a bit.

My dad had open-heart surgery in July and it really put our trip into question, but he's fine now and feeling infinitely better.

I made a note that we're celebrating his open-heart surgery. Stinks it's our last year for a little while, but excited to try a new tradition!

We are officially OBSESSED with the Beach Club and are excited to return for Thanksgiving 2019 - for 19 (19!!!!) nights, starting 11/14/19!
We got home from our 16 night stay last Wednesday and I immediately began the race to rent enough points to return next year before our AP's expire on 11/28.

We visited many other resorts during our 2.5 weeks, including the Poly and AK Lodge and there is nowhere else we even wanted to attempt to stay for our next trip - even for a split stay.

I am so excited to bring my kids back "HOME" in 11 short months :) :)

I understand the love :). Congrats on your long trip!!

SOOO PSYCHED!!!!!!

Our reservation request came through, so we are officially all booked for our big family trip (13 of us!) in August! I was getting a bit concerned that we wouldn't be bale to secure the second villa, but glad we did!

I did look at the BCV map, now my question would be how likely we would be able to get either adjoining 2 BR's or at the very least across from each other.... First world problems for sure, but the COUNTDOWN HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know the answer to your question, but

Congrats on your ressies! I'll be honest with you, your request will be tough to honor but magic does happen. There are 2 types of 2BR villas, dedicated and "lock-off" meaning a combo of studio/1BR. BCV is a relatively small DVC resort and runs close to 100% occupancy year-round. So to give you my "odds" perspective; adjoining rooms [slim to none], across from each other [slim to a little better than slim], same floor [better odds], same resort [100%]. Again, it's not a big resort so you'll be relatively close regardless of where you end up. Happy planning and have fun!

Random observations from our recent 5 night stay at YC. We loved it! Message me if you have any questions.
  • We were in room 3210 - standard view - but it was a corner room, no connecting door, very quiet. It had two large windows on one side, but the view on that side was the ugly flat roof of the portico. The sliding doors to the patio overlooked a tree and the shingle roof of a covered walkway. I somehow failed to take pictures, but it was located on the front side (basically next to the portico, on the left side if you're outside looking up at the front entrance). It was a couple minutes walk to the elevators.
  • Housekeeping was great the first two days, then slipped a little. Not enough to complain about anything, but I was a little disappointed. We got towel mickeys, a washcloth Christmas tree, some extras on the toiletries the first two days including some foot rub that was much appreciated. The floors did not feel clean, which others have mentioned, so it was clear that they did not sweep or mop during our stay.
  • The beds, sheets and pillows were SO comfortable.
  • This room had a daybed too, which was nice so our two boys didn't have to share a queen bed. The bathroom was spacious and there is tons of storage for clothes and shoes. We fully unpacked our suitcases and set up a large pop up laundry hamper for dirty clothes - I can't recommend this enough. Sliding the suitcases under the bed was fantastic and gave us much more space to enjoy in the room.
  • All CM's were incredibly friendly. We checked in at 7:30am so our room wasn't ready, but we easily stored them and when we returned that night the bags were delivered to our room within 5 minutes of us entering it.
  • The A&C market was handy, but we didn't use the drink machines often because there was only 1 functioning and the lines were very long.
  • Pool was great and our boys had to get in even though it was not really swimming weather. We ate sandwiches at the pool bar once and were not impressed, but I guess you can't expect much from a pool bar.
  • The location of YC can't be beat. Buses to AK and MK were frequent. Buses were shared with BC only and YC was the first stop. There were always far more people waiting at BC for buses. We walked to Epcot. We took the boat to HS once, but it took forever so we walked the long path the other times.

RoyalJay, I hope you and family are here in The World having loads of fun and just too busy to update us!

We checked into 3161 yesterday morning, and my water view is fantastic!! I gave Alexander a cast compliment for understanding my weirdly overly specific room requests:)

We have had several deluxe dining plan hiccups (which Alexander coincidentally helped to solve), but I think they are finally resolved.

The weather is fantastic, and we are sure the next five days will continue our holiday buzz:)

Did you request this room at check in with Alexander?.. We booked a water view. I requested 4161 through touring plans and received 1161 after online check-in. I assumed they probably got us as close as they could, but I really did not want to be on the first floor. So, I called the hotel front desk and they moved us to 4137. Since it was on the end, but in the middle of the courtyard, the balcony was right next to the the corridor that people through with windows and directly adjacent to a balcony without a partition. So, did not feel private. One more over would have been better. However, it was close to the elevator so that was a plus.

I requested Crescent Lake view facing rental boat dock and Boardwalk Inn last month when I paid off trip. We had the next section over closer to Swolphin last year. We were on the 1st floor and did not mind noise or patio. However, we LOVE being so close to the elevator, and the little dead end is so peaceful. The fire escape/“secret stairs” are also very convenient as they are 2 doors away.

Here are looks at the 2018 Christmas decorations at the BC and YC, with a bonus look at the BWI. BTW, I thought that the BC and YC scaled down their centerpieces, this year, and that's the reason for all of the poinsettias inside the white picket fencing.

Thanks for sharing these links. Having never seen the resort decorations in person, I enjoyed looking at the pictures. The details are incredible, especially on the carousel horses and the train display.

I don't have a question (yet), but I just wanted to share my excitement! I just booked today for our first deluxe stay at Beach Club (garden/woods view) July 19-27. This is our absolute dream resort, and we are thrilled! For both DH and I, Epcot is our favorite park, and WS is our favorite part of Epcot, so staying in the Epcot resort area was really a no brainer for us. Can't WAIT! :lovestruc Really looking forward to experiencing more of the Epcot resort area and BC itself, being able to walk to Epcot, and swimming probably daily in Stormalong Bay!

I'm certain you'll have an awesome time disneycat321! Back in the day, the Polynesian used to be my favorite deluxe resort and I thought nothing could compare to the monorail resorts. Heck, I hardly even knew the Epcot resorts existed! But since I've found them they've become my favorite.

:welcome: to this thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15 of this thread.

I felt the exact same way as you before our first stay- EPCOT was our favorite park and it was our dream to stay within walking distance. It was a July trip as well. The location, and the resort, did not disappoint!

I hope this forum will help fuel your excitement as your trip approaches.

The Poly is on our bucket list for a future trip, because I think we need to experience a MK monorail resort at least once! But I also suspect that we may love the Epcot resort area too much to ever want to stay somewhere else... ;) What makes you love the Epcot area over the monorail resorts? Just curious!

Thank you so much! Looks like you officially found your WDW home after that first visit! I have a feeling that may happen for us, as well.
