I love credit cards so much!

Lord willing and the creek don't rise....

DH is trying to sabotage the plan. I think he is concerned about DS8's hockey opportunities in charleston, or lack there of, though he hasn't used that as an excuse.
So his current suggestion is that we buy a condo there and downsize our house here so I can go there whenever I want. Well, OK, I will take that if it is all I can get. But what he doesn't realize is I won't often feel compelled to come to Nashville.

Is he worried about there being a rink or just the competition? And from there, if he's just playing for fun how much does it matter?

Curling is growing in the south and Charlotte has a good youth hockey program and an AHL team. I would imagine it's not as bad as he thinks but not as good as nashville. But nashville isn't as good as Minneapolis or boston would be.

How does this work? Did you book through the SW car portal or elsewhere and still get the points? The portal is never best price when I check but if I can go into my budget account and add the rr number then get points that would be awesome.
...wonder if that would work for DH's hertz account too. I have tried researching best maximizing biz car rental rewards and not had much luck finding info. Same with maxing hotel rewards for biz travelers...hit status in multiple chains or stick with 1, etc?
I booked directly with Budget and there was a place to enter my RR # on the reservation. So it was a nice treat for the 2 hours I wasted picking up the car in the first place.

Ok, if I have a forgotten my Reddit name and password, is there some place to retrieve it like any normal website? I can't seem to find one!

HELPPPPPP last minute dumb question...... do I need an enhanced license to fly this month? I haven't flown anywhere since last April I'm in CT

I just tried my Amazon Amex rewards too, and no 20% came off. UGH, I still had a couple of things I wanted to get.

Thank you for all the kind words on the job loss. Just a little background. I was the idiot that didn't finish college after stumbling into a fulltime mortgage job one summer. Well that led to other mortgage jobs, and mortgage is all I have ever done, and all I know how to do. Unfortunately when there are layoffs, it's because the business has taken a down turn, so hiring is very scarce these days. I am still pouty about the things I won't have now. I would have had 25 days PTO come January 1 and on May 4th, I would have been fully vested in my 401k, now I am only 80. And I still had $400 in my FSA to use up, but I lost that too. I have been working at home for the last 3 years, the thought of going back to an office makes me crazy LOL. I have a couple of trips coming up, that will have to be cancelled. Once people start hiring again, I will probably be back to my pay level from 5 years ago, which is going to be hard on the day to day life.
It is nice to have some time off, if only it weren't so scary. I ran to Target this morning, and I am used to being in a hurry to grab what I want, and after a couple minutes, I went, wait, I can stay here as long as I want LOL.

I don't know if my SW Biz statement question got answered yesterday, my Chase online account says my next statement date is Jan 2 (even though my payment is due 12/26), can I trust that Jan 2 date? I want to get some of the spend on there, dh needs tires, ugh.

I also LOVE the container store! Thank goodness the only one here is 40 minutes away!

He plays on a travel team here. We'd be in Charleston, not Charlotte, but we have played the Charlotte team so I am familiar with them.
There is a travel team in Charleston (jr stingrays) but I have glanced at their schedule and it is definitely not the level of competition/training that he has access to here in Nashville.

ETA: I realize I am his mom, and biased, but he really is really good and he is only 8 and the youngest kid on his team and one of the youngest (if not the youngest) in the whole league. His bday is 12/2/09 and the age brackets are 2 years, so kids with 2008 and 2009 bdays. Of course, compared to kids in Russia he wouldn't be, but in his SYTHL he is good. It is all relative. So he has a future in it and loves it, so although it is fun it is also something he will pursue at a higher level.

Just awful and unacceptable. I hope you do get some good compensation for this hassle.

I don't know if it is considered good compensation or not, but they did waive two days of resort fees, which is around $80. Like I said, I don't really kick, scream or cause a scene but I knew we deserved something. I'm so glad we're moving to Aria for tomorrow and Saturday for our anniversary weekend. I'm most looking forward to a hot shower and washing my hair. Pretty sad.

Good grief. Yesterday I SM Chase to reduce my credit lines. Two of them were done no problem. My IHG still has the same line so I open the reply to my SM. In it is a large list of things they need from my before they can process an increase in my credit limit. Yeah, SM them back. Clearly they didn't even read my original message.

What is the boxed deal? I see a 15% off using Apple Pay in my email today.

Here's my post about it:

Got around to doing the AmEx offer for Boxed, spend $75 get $20. First time with Boxed and first time with Ibotta. Checked dischurners first (@SouthFayetteFan @wendow :D).
So bought about $100 worth (with tax) of a boatload of toilet paper and tissue, lol.

Should be getting:
-$20 AmEx
-$15 first time Boxed
-$10 first time Ibotta
-$18 Ibotta cashback (although I have no idea how they got this amount)
-$5 Ibotta cashback bonus on $80+ Boxed

Paying effectively $32. :)

If you do the deal, don't forget to put your 2 free samples in the cart. I had read about samples, but thought it was stuff they put in the box. Didn't realize I had to go pick them!

The Ibotta cashback posted yesterday and I cashed out to PayPal. Got an extra $3 from first time online order. The AmEx credit posted too. Showed DH the pile of TP and tissues - look $29! He was like, not bad, lol.

well darn, I don't have a boxed amex offer.

Have to chime in. My 09 is traveling to Nashville in Feb for a tournament. Living in MI (and teaching the USA U17 and U18 Hockey Boys) my son was on skates right after he learned to walk, LOL. He did 3 years on Mini Mites (started at 3), a year on Mites and then played up on Squirts last year. This year he's on a squirt travel team. Last year he was the youngest player on his team by 2-3 years (he was supposed to be a Mite) and was by far the best. The parents were shocked when he was checked into the boards by what looked like an 11yo and I screamed, "he's only 8!!!!" LOL.

I hate that I can't pay his ice bill by CC, LOL. That would be a great way to hit all those spend minimums!!!!

Why would Chase send me an email for Sappire banking with an upgrade code with an expiration date? It’s the typical 60,000 UR promo so it just seems silly to make it seem exclusive/special to me via email.
