DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Morning Guys,

quieter start to today but it's still flipping freezing. At this rate I not looking forward to January when it usually get cold.

Hope you are not getting that storm today Jeff.

This is hard to answer Norm, This year after this next trip we did 6 trips and spent 32 park days at WDW, plus the discounts on rooms , 20% discounts on merchandise and 10 % on some food, and at this moment 2090 photos , :scratchin I'm thinking I am on the ahead side of the game :confused3:cool1:, I'm not sure how I would even begin to calculate the savings:confused3

You are certainly enjoying the magic. It does depend on what you compare it against. If I compare my DVC vs rack rates, then yes, I saved $. If I compared against a cheaper destination location, then maybe not so much.

Somewhat positive news is that my mom is able to be up and walk a bit with a cane. Not so positive is that the nursing home doesn't want to send her home yet as the orthopedic doctor isn't seeing enough evidence of healing in her pelvis or wrist. Not sure what the plans will be. Dad is driving my brother nuts and surprisingly getting along with my sister-in-law. Unfortunately my brother is out of vacation time and can't use sick leave for family. He will either have to take unpaid leave which means no medical coverage, or leave dad home alone either in my brother's house or back at my parents' house. I have time but can't take it as I have 3 meetings next week I can't miss as I am the presenter. I could have dad come here but the 10 hour trip would be too hard on him to do in a day, he would be too far to visit mom, and he has only been here once 8 years ago and would be even more confused than he is now. Sometimes no decision is the best option.
Tough situation, I just wish everyone the best.

Apparently, we had a "snow squal". I never heard of that before. I guess it's global warming.
We get snow squalls up here a lot. They are a bit like Florida afternoon thunderstorms. One minute sunny, next it's like whiteout blizzard for 5 minutes, then back to sun. I much prefer them over a 12 hour blizzard, like the one starting here in a few hours - hopefully after I have to leave work.

Hope you are not getting that storm today Jeff.
It's freezing cold here today too (well, -10C when I got up, I know @pkondz would say that's t-shirt weather. But we get wind too.)
The storm's acomin', supposed to start around 4pm, hopefully not too bad before I can get home. I must pick up some storm chips on the way.
They did drop the snowfall from 20-30cm to 15-25cm, so that's something. Either way, the snowblower is getting it's first workout of the year tomorrow.

You know what today is!!!!! Wednesday. Just Wednesday. After 23 years of marriage I don't expect it to be any different, and I'm still on the green side of the sod and have eaten more cookies than I should so I can't complain.

Im not sure what to say or what could be said other than sorry.

Don't believe him. He met me in Atlanta when it was 80 degrees give or take and he was wearing a t-shirt.

'Morning all...
Diego says: Y'all rush out and buy up all the bread and milk.
And all my neighbors are pretty much following orders. :sad2:

The good news is that we finally have a functioning government.
Lucky you...

There just ain't no good in any of that.
Not sure what "best" would be, but may it find its way over to you.

As Pete the puma might be wont to say...

A whole lotta bucks...a WHOLE LOT!

...of lumps.

That's awesome! We're in the middle of our first/only AP year, from June to June, and I felt like we were making out pretty well with 4 trips and 18 park days. That photo benefit is what really put it over the top for us too, will be well over 1000 for the year.

Howdy dads, sorry haven't been here for a few days. Tried to get caught up but after reading this page I gave up.
@wasnotafan sorry to hear about your mom, hope she pulls thru soon.
Canadians, try not to get buried so deep in the snow you cant get to your beer.

Prayers to those in need, bacon to those who deserve it, dole whips for everyone.

So my wife had a back operation this week;a while back she was having her heart checked out (all is good) but the Dr noticed on her CT that she has degenerative disk disorder in her lower back. So she went this week and they put a gel filler into her disks to try and relieve it. Will know if 48-72 hrs if it was successful. Then we left that appointment and went to her dermatologist and they found a spot that they are concerned about SO we had that cut off and sent off. wont know for 10 days if it is cancerous or not. She is falling apart, I may have to part her out and trade up for a newer model.

Hope all the news is good and don't worry about our beer, the snow makes for a great cooler.

Happy Thursday. Have a lot of driving next week and then am really looking forward to the two weeks at home. Played tennis today and must have hurt my back along the way. Played well enough and don't remember anything significant. However, I need to heal up my Saturday morning.

.

I went out and got beer, so I'm prepared. I'll leave the French toast to the others.

Prayers for your wife. Just don't tell her you're trading her in for a newer model, unless you really want to walk with a limp.

So, I've been out on medical leave since June for my back. Saw my doctor on Tuesday and was not released to return to work. I let my employer know when I got home. Got a call from my boss today, looks like I'm retired Boys!

Thanks for your concern. Praying that your wife has positive news from all her medical adventures. I wouldn't recommend trading her in for a newer model. I hear the upkeep on them is terrible and it is tough to break them in like the old model.

Randall, not sure if this should be a congratulations or a sorry to hear that so I will leave it at best wishes and prayers for a peaceful transition.

Enjoy the life of leisure my friend.

Good luck Jodi!

Morning, gents.
Not going to go back to read all the shenanigans but did see a certain someone retired. But not sure if that’s entirely a good thing or not. Hoping it is.

Long set of days coming up for me and not really looking forward to them. Ah well...

Congrats to the deserving and hugs for those needing. Bacon’s on me.
