Just have a backup plan for liquidating the VGC (e.g., organic spend). I kept getting errors on Plastiq trying to use a $300 VGC bought at Staples to make a payment towards student loans. The VGC was registered and everything.

What student loan provider? I heard if you call in with a VGC for Navient they accept them as debit.

@amalone - I'm going to watch it closely as I have 5 nights to collect between now and next August, so it would be nice to know when to actually expect them. The first one is my 25K night and after I get it I want to try to do the 50K upgrade, so I want the night in my account before then. 2nd, 3rd and 4th are 35K and the 5th is 50K.

After that, no cards for about 5-6 years when I got a Chase cobrand card with airplanes on it from a stand at an air show at Andrews. I signed up to get a t shirt. Chase eventually closed that card because of lack of use. At some point I was DENIED for the Chase Disney card and I think it was around this time, and probably because of the non use and closing of the airplane card. I still really don't know why I suffered the one denial and was pretty offended, because that was the Since Day 1 card . It never occurred to me to call or recon, and I've never had to with any card.

Correcting myself here: I thought I had my Chase cobranded card in the early 2000's but I actually found it in my drawer! I opened it in 1997 and stopped using it completely in 2009. So Chase has gone from giving out tee shirts to huge bonuses of up to 100K UR's....

Got my first Gold Card rebate for dining out! $4.29 for spending $21.xx at Taco Bell! So I checked my Panera purchase of the lunch and gift card. It's details say Food and Beverage so I'm wondering if I'll get 20% back on that $58.xx. I need to still do my $10 deal for Cheesecake or Shake Shack so I might just run out tomorrow and do that. Wonder if it will credit twice if I do two purchases? Like 2 of the $25 gift cards? Doesn't CCF have a special going on now for a free slice with $25?

They do indeed. I ended up at a Columbia Mall on Tues and snagged a $25 GC with the free slice. It runs through Dec. So I’ll go that route next month also.

i asked pp person on phone today if i can use my "10" pp passes with hilton for my companions and they said yes but you never know if the PPlounge orPPrestraurant will cooperate.

My Marriott personal card has its anniversary on Dec 25. Just got the email 'alerting' me that I will get my free night deposited 6-8 weeks after my anniversary date. So, sometime in February? I'll be watching for this one after our discussion about the Amex SPG free night. Seems to me that this is following the Amex formula? Maybe it's Marriott driven?

For my Chase IHG free night, it drops into my account right on my anniversary as do my Radisson/Club Carlson points.

Someone had mentioned that the Chase Marriott night came closer to their anniversary.

I had some idea that I could use that night in January 2019. Wasn't depending on it, but looks like it won't be available in time. It's no biggie for me as I'm keeping the card and will definitely use the night.

My sample size is small, but I had an online order from Macy's trigger a $15 payout from RMN. I returned the merchandise, but no clawback from RMN.

Oh, I was at Target yesterday to get items to put together a Countdown to Christmas calendar for DS and noticed they are now selling the Gift of College (or whatever the real name is) gift cards in $50 and $100 increments. My Target now have a whole wall for gift cards right by check-out.

Got an email that I earned the holiday bonus points for ordering giftcards at Giftcards.com through the Southwest portal. Took such a long time (my purchase was 10.29) but I’m glad I’m getting them.

Your Mom is smart......not sure what timeshare your brother has...but there are places(my son works for one now) that buyback timeshares with no fee/cost at all to the owner...if he wants to get out of paying the dues he should look into it

I remember reading DPs when I was first getting into MS. I haven’t tried it. It may also work for other providers my SO is just through Navient so I remembered that one.

It’s with Wyndham. I’ll let him know to look into it.

If he does not have a loan on the timeshare it can be sold...may not be for as much as he would like...have learned a lot that I didn’t know about the industry from my son...he works for one of the two companies Wyndham refers people to if they want to sell..if he has questions just pm me and I can ask him

Hmmmm... I have one it let me add, but I didn't try to submit yet. I had another that wouldn't even let me add it, but maybe I forgot to register that one. I have a bit to mull it over, I'll probably try for those online for the RMN offer. I did look through my Plastiq history and I don't think I've used many prepaid visas, just MCs during the promo last month. DH brought up Disney GCs... I suppose the very best return with those would be to use them at BB for the swagbucks offer, but I haven't been brave enough to take a Visa GC to my Best Buy yet.
