Oh, and DH called to get the 10K MRs for his AMEX, only to be told that the offer, which arrived by mail from AMEX with HIS name on it, wasn't good because he had declined an offer this summer. It was a phone call regarding chip & pin right before we left for Europe, and they caught him totally by surprise and he didn't know what to say so said not today. Now they say they are "working on it." (Insert rolling eye emoji here)

Ha my email is for Hilton, I'm thinking that isn't so valuable LOL.
Can't hurt to throw the info out there...you never know what somebody might be looking for!

DH got this by email yesterday. I'll take a peek at the post.
Feel free to share some info over there and maybe somebody will show you the support ;) haha!

Soooo I know some places limit how much you can buy in gift cards per day, like $300 or $500. Is this just purely per single store, like I see you in here buying $XXX so we won't sell you anymore, but if I head to the next location I could get more? Asking for a friends who's deciding how much she wants to max out the Lowe's/Staples AMEX offers...

its usually store limited. YMMV. I did Staples in 1 transaction($1k purchase). I saw some DP ppl hit a snag trying to do it in one order at lowes, but yes, u can hit 2 stores at once. Amex doesnt care. The issue resides with the store.

OT but I'm sure everyone here can appreciate a USPS fail

Finally look at my informed delivery today and there's a piece of mail coming from the new Aldi that's opening up. We've been watching it being built for ages, finally saw the signs going up a couple weeks ago, been waiting to hear when the doors opened to see if there was a deal to be had during the grand opening. So got interested in reading the flyer in my email -
Win free produce for a year!

Free reusable shopping tote!

First 100 customers get a chance to win a golden ticket worth $100 in groceries!

$5 off coupon!

great! sign me up, what day is it?! :hyper:

Grand Opening, Thursday Nov 29th!

:headache:

I'm trying to get over there, but I'm having trouble just keeping up with this page today. And it's cold and rainy outside, so I'm staying in. I thought for sure I'd be caught up by now, but I'm not. :rotfl:

Well I’m down to two MS locations. Even my cards with my name on them don’t seem to be doing the trick anymore. I haven’t had to really MS much lately because I have had some crazy expenses, $500 for my car deductible, 20% off on Amazon so I spent $400 on grocery giftcards, $400 to prepay my phone bill and get 10% off, 1500 for a MacBook Pro, $100 for 4 Cheesecake Factory giftcards, and $4500 of my brothers tuition payment,(gets reimbursed to me and no fee with a credit card). And I’m hunting down 4K of Disney Giftcards for my wedding. Yikes, that’s a lot of spend. Normally we spend 3.5k a month including our crazy high rent lol. The beginning of the year should be lower expenses because a lot of my spend is stocking up on discounted giftcards. I’ll probably buy $300 in target cards Sunday too. SO also is getting an Apple Watch 4.

Anyway I still want to MS and build up a stash of UR points so I may order some giftcards Saturday and drive out to the suburbs.

Me...Loyal...to a card...:rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl:

LOLOLOL!!!!

On a more serious note though, I will also be dropping the card like you though...just gonna wait until the last second in case something lucky happens w/ the free night.

Maybe loyal was not the right word. :) I waited to the last minute and then called AMEX. When pinned down, rep basically admitted that there would be no free night without paying the annual fee. I am like you, anti-AFs, so they made my decision for me! On to other cards.

Another call to recon with Chase, since it's been two weeks now. He did some digging, and found no answers. Still being processed.

I'm wondering, is Chase starting to tighten up even more?

A friend of mine is 2/24, both Chase cards, and also has 2 Chase biz cards (+1 Amex biz). Said he has about $13k credit limit across his Chase biz cards. Applied today for the CIC, went immediately to 7-10 days. He called recon and the rep refused to approve, asking him things like "You already have 2 personal and 2 business cards, why do you need more?" He said the rep was actually borderline rude.

The thing is, this guy should be the perfect person to issue a new card. He's borderline obsessed with Chase and URs, and is heavily invested in the ecosystem. He uses his CSR for everything and spends thousands per month on it regularly. I told him to HUCA if he wanted, but it was likely not going to change. But he's afraid of being shut down if he probes too much - that's how much he uses their cards!

It was a very surprising denial to me. We know every card is under 5/24 (I was denied for the Disney Premier, by the way). Are they even more stringent on their own UR cards? Has anyone seen increased difficulty in getting them?

Is anybody following the whole "American Express Pre-Approval Referral Offers" thing circulating on DoC and r/churning?

Did anybody receive these? I started a thread on DISchurners where these can be discussed and supported...

I got the SPG, which isn't as popular but I may put it over there. I did put on DISchurners. Wondering about the no lifetime language though? Since the person just has to be approved by 7/31/2019, does that mean that those of us who can cancel our cards early next year could reapply and get the bonus? My dh's card is up in 4/19. Cancel and he use my link. He gets 75k and I get 20k...?

o_O Not a good DP. Ugh!

At the end of 2017 we started to plan our Disney vacation and I stumbled upon this thread - that was GAME CHANGER No.1 - then y'all educated me that I could get business cards - GAME CHANGER No.2. Up to that point I thought I had been doing pretty well at duping the credit card companies into giving me lots of free stuff with our 4 or maybe 5 new cards each year. Yep - I thought I was some kind of genius at this game and I was happy. Then I came here and discovered new possibilities, experienced FOMO galore and I wanted more!! :o

So 2018 has yielded 13 new cards, inc 7 business cards. This enabled me to save over $7,000 on our summer trip to WDW and USO. In a couple weeks time, my 73 year old mother will be coming to visit for Christmas - I asked her if there was anything in the USA she would really like to see. She said, and I quote 'I would have liked to see Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, but I have accepted that isn't going to happen now because you and the girls (my sisters) have already been there.' So I put the power of churning to work and in just over 2 weeks I will take her to Vegas for a few days, flying first class on AA, Hotel, scenic flight over the Grand Canyon and a cirque show - all paid for with points. Bucket list items checked and I am one happy son to be able to do that for her.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this post!

I have actually done this multiple times. Once I removed DH as an AU from my CSR, I'm the only one left with cards that come with PP. I have PP memberships from my CSR and my Amex Plat. I have shown both cards to get 4 of us into a PP lounge and think I have also done the same at a PP restaurant.

Just reading about it doesn't beat your experience! Thanks for chiming in and helping out the OP.

No. I'm always careful about one person case studies, but here's mine. I have four personal chase card and three business. Just got my third business card in 11 months. All of my personal cards are over a year old. I reduced all of my credit limits in May and I think that helped me get automatic approval on my third Chase business card.

I got one on my wife's AmEx Personal Platinum about 2 hours after I cancelled her card, and before I knew about the no lifetime language. Of course, when I click on the link, there is no eligible card. D'oh!

As an alternate DP, I am:

CSP- 9/17
CF- 10/17
Marriott Biz- 1/18
CIP- 5/18
CIU- 11/18

Never been asked any questions other than simple ID verification on the CSP. Never lowered credit limits (I'm definitely over 50% of my personal income with Chase).

Could I get someone to check my math here... Debating buying Visa GCs and then putting them towards my car loan on Plastiq, to use up my remaining Lowe's/Staples AMEX offer.

  • Buy $300 Visa GC from Staples for $308.95
  • Get back $30.90 for AMEX offer
  • Pay $292.68 toward car loan plus Plastiq fee @ 2.5% $7.32, for $300 total
  • Pay $278.05 OOP for $292.68 towards car loan, ~5% discount
  • Bonus - 556 Starriott points plus maybe $15 RMN offer (online), so ignoring points, $263.05 OOP for $292.68, ~10% discount
I've also got ~$500 in FFD left currently, so I wouldn't even pay the Plastiq fee on part of it

I was thinking about the Disney Premier because they are offering $250 now. Not sure if it can be referred or not as I can't see the ability to refer on my daughters card account. I'm at 7/24 and I guess I'm just ap happy right now. To get back to 5/24 I'm now at waiting until 12/19 - a whole year! There are a lot of cards I might be able to get between now and then, so not sure it's worth it to wait to get back to Chase.

I got 6 cards in 2018. 2 business and 4 personal.

My churning story......... I guess I've been at it for about 7 years, always in 2 player mode. I'm from the UK so finding a cheaper way to get home for visits was my main focus hence Chase BA, BoA Virgin and Citi AA cards were my early focus and we ran through a few of those when the bonuses were really good. We kinda moved on from the to the JetBlue, Southwest, Hilton and Marriott cards. Chase UR's and Amex MR's never really caught my attention, although I had a sapphire and appreciated the ability to top off my BA or Virgin accounts when needed. I guess we steadily plodded along, averaging about 4 new cards year between us.

At the end of 2017 we started to plan our Disney vacation and I stumbled upon this thread - that was GAME CHANGER No.1 - then y'all educated me that I could get business cards - GAME CHANGER No.2. So in summary, I want to thank everyone here for empowering me to make this happen. This year will probably be unique in my churning career, but it has been a lot of fun. :thanks:

That is incredible - what a great son you are!!

That's very surprising to me too. Here's my DP:
CSR 9/18
CIP 9/18 (2 weeks after the CSR, I didn't know any better, lol)
CIU 11/18

P2:
CS very old
CIP 10/18
CIU 11/18 - just applied yesterday actually, approved ~12 hours later (I know because I was checking obsessively, haha)
