I love credit cards so much!

....and DH has to call in to chase line to setup his SWA biz card b/c they need to send a verify code which can only be gotten by calling....(!??!) this is a pain. I'll have to make him call later (unwilling P2)
Ugh, I have to call too. Is this standard? If so, I will definitely not be getting any Chase biz cards for DH.
What are they going to ask when I call, anyone know?

Where are your seats? I don't need premium but not sure I want far sides or nosebleed either.

I haven't seen Hamilton in NY so I'm not sure about that theater, but having seen the show in Chicago my impression is that far sides are way worse than nosebleed, because of the staging. You need to be able to see both sides of the stage clearly, so if you have far side seats, your view of one side will be blocked. Of course, closer is better all other things being equal, but of course those orchestra seats can cost a whole lot more.

Saw a friend in Kohls this morning..she use to work there....told me the Black Friday toy prices will be better than the pricing now...hope she’s right

I'm not a Kohls expert by any means, but I have shopped the Veterans Day sale a few years now--my perception is that pricing is better for Black Friday but the coupons are better now. So BF is a better bet for things that are excluded from the coupons.

I’ll be watching the Black Friday pricing...compared to what I paid now...got a lot of shirts DH needed...for 12-13 total so about 6.50 each....

I thought about doing that, but I really don't see a lot of uses for the card when we're down at WDW since we don't really eat in the places that get the discounts much and don't buy many souvenirs. We charge everything to the room and I pay it off with a gift card anyway.
I was surprised to see this morning that they refunded my annual fee. It's been over 30 days since it was charged (Oct 1), so I figured that was a lost cause.

It's nice that they refunded the AF. I recently downgraded DH's BCP to BCE 5 days after the AF was charged. AmEx prorated his AF refund by a whole month. It's not a huge amount, but still rankled me.

After much hemming and hawing and discussions and going back and forth, DH called AMEX today and was approved for the 100K MR AMEX Biz Platinum! That number of MRs was just too hard to pass up! Thanks to everyone, especially @Lain who walked me through it all. :goodvibes

We still have 3 cards that we haven't finished the MSR on, but we also have some large bills coming up in December so it should work out.

This is terribly selfish, with all the people here in CA who have been evacuated and/or have lost their homes this week, but I fear that our trip next weekend is not going to happen because of the Camp Fire.:( We were planning to spend three nights in Petaluma on BW points and go to Point Reyes and tour Sonoma State for ods, but as of right now I'm thinking that we'll probably have to cancel because of the air quality. I'm having trouble finding anywhere in Northern CA that isn't affected. It's horrible here in the Sacramento area right now.

I'm in the Bay Area and the air quality is awful here. I am one of those with "respiratory issues" that they mention in the air quality index, so I've had to hide inside for days. I looked around, and if you go down to Monterey the air is much better there, but still not perfect. It's a nice area - we often go to Monterey/Carmel when we want a nice day trip. Just an idea since the air quality in the North Bay looks terrible right now.

I am pretty sure I will be picking up the business plat for no bonus since I've had it before and regret canceling it. The airline credit in December and again in January will take some of the sting out. I figured something not on my radar or hadn't considered might be in order. My advice is go for the Plat cards!

I'd love to hear what makes it so valuable to you. We were looking at the benefits, and didn't see many since we already have personal Plat cards. Is it the points back if we book through AMEX? If so, do you get a better rate than moving MRs to FF accounts? In my limited experience we have done much, much better by moving points so I wasn't thinking that this would be a good way to book flights but I'm sure I'm overlooking something. Since the card was approved today I'd love your insight.

Logging into Chase UR portal and I'm seeing a new "Chase Deals" as one of my menu options. I'm thinking this is the new offers that were coming today? If so, I'm not impressed. Mine shows Hot Deals, Gift Card Deals, and Shopping Deals.

Hot Deals is basically the feature offerings of Gift Card Deals and Shopping Deals.
Gift Card Deals are buying discounted gift cards using UR points.
Shopping Deals is the same as the bonus point shopping portal.

Ok, DH wants to open a new bank account for eBay funds. Plus one for our money market funds that are sitting in our work credit union. We easily change our direct deposit with work. Any suggestions on the best bank bonus to go after? I think a Discover is currently lower than I’ve seen for their bonus.

Discover is pretty easy and doesn't require DD. You just move in $15k ($150) / $25k ($200) via ACH and the bonus posts very quickly. No need to move it all in at once either, you can move the same funds in and out as long as you complete the cumulative amount by the date specified in the fine print.

Thanks. I was trying to get the Chase to work but it says the coupon code is no longer valid. Which doesn’t make sense since it says it is valid through 11/13/18.

Yikes I hope there is more but I doubt it

this is our first chase biz.... the page said it needed to verify with a code to setup acct online, and needed a call in to do that since there's no number on file. which means 2 calls b/c I want him to get it into his regular acct page after he sets it up..... I'll just keep reminding him how valuable the bonuses are....

I don't have the Hyatt card and am unwilling to stir the pot with Chase despite being CPC with them. Maybe if I do a mass clean up like @SouthFayetteFan did first, I'd consider going for it. We definitely do use the free night certs which is why I never cancel hotel cards. Just last night we decided to go back to WDW in December for a weekend we hadn't already booked with DVC. There were no DVC rooms available. I used my free night Marriott cert and DH used his and voila, I have my weekend stay with no money coming out of the vacation budget...
Chase Shutdown reports have slowed significantly so perhaps they've turned their attention elsewhere. I can still understand why someone in your position wouldn't want to poke the bear though!!

I don't think it's selfish to feel bad about something you were looking forward to. We're here...on a message board full of Disney obsessed people...on a thread of people who are able to basically travel for free due to credit card rewards... This is definitely the place to vent that frustration/sadness! Of course you also wouldn't look somebody in the eye who lost their home and complain about your trip :)

I'm sorry your trip plans are being affected. Regardless of whether somebody has been planning a trip for 3 days or 3 years, it's always sad when an outside force affects your ability to enjoy your trip!

I have placed way more than 9 orders. Wishing DH was traveling this week!! Stocking up on socks, pjs, cuddl duds for Christmas Disney trip, etc. I was bummed that beauty was excluded because I bought lots of stocking stuffers as add-on items to get to $25 last year.

I'm starting to wonder if I should order more.:flower1:

Just to add to @SouthFayetteFan ’s post that I also don’t think it’s selfish to think about how the wildfires and smoke are affecting people’s travel plans. I had been planning to take my DD5 up to Napa today since she has Veteran’s Day off, and her assignment this weekend is to take a nice fall walk and write about it; but with all this smoke, we’ve had to alter our plans to stay in the city and do indoors stuff. Just think of all the other people who’ve had to change or cancel their travel plans because of the fires and smoke, and the economic impact it has on businesses that rely on good weather and tourism. Our hearts go out to all those who’ve lost their homes, possessions, and loved ones, but these fires are having a terrible impact on the livelihoods of people and businesses much further away. So make the trip if you can, and if you can’t, then when you can.

Thank you! Monterey area is a possibility, although we've been there in the last year, so not as exciting as somewhere we haven't been before. We will probably end up cancelling the BW in Petaluma and just making a last minute decision a day or two before.

I keep it because it is old and it gets me extra discounts on resort bookings on occasion.

what kind of shirts? It is clear that I don't know what to buy at kohls, since ya'll are placing 20 orders each. o_O I now have FOMO.

I ordered DD2 some nightgowns with matching doll gowns....2 sets were $20. I guess that is fine, but it doesn't wow me. I think I am spoiled by target clearance racks. :P

So what do I need to order? Whats a good deal?
