originally booked csr (May 2019)
brought trip forward by a day and had to change resorts from csr to ssr

I was looking forward to (hopefully) staying in a newly updated room
However, not a fan of construction.

Will i regret the switch?!

Probably won't happen. Renovations aren't scheduled to start until middle of 2019 after OKW renovations are completed.

I have stayed at both and while I prefer CSR and loved the newly remodeled room I will say that I liked our stay at SSR much better than I expected. The room was comfortable and quiet. When looking at the resort from out side it looks fine but not especially engaging but once we entered the grounds with all the white fences and gardens it felt more like a grand country estate. We did quite a bit of walking to look around and while we did not walk over to Disney Springs it would have been easy. Have an open mind and enjoy your stay at SSR. It is fun to try all the different places.

We really enjoyed SSR! It was quiet, spacious, but not overly so. The bed was comfy, grounds beautifully kept. I will definitely stay there again!

SSR is considerably larger than CSR, so IMO, room location is more important there. If you book a preferred room, you'd be in the Springs, which is close to the pool and main building, or in Congress Park which is closest to the path to walk to Disney Springs. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at SSR, but I'd want to be in one of the preferred buildings. Otherwise, you'd have to rely on the internal bus system or have a potentially long walk.

I'll also add that SSR isn't as centrally located as CSR, so commutes might be slightly longer. I wouldn't let this deter you though. SSR is a beautiful resort and the amenities are on par with CSR, just a different theme.

We have a preferred studio booked-
It’s an accessible one;

Would that give any clues as to where is best to be located?

Building #4 (Congress Park) and building #6 (The Springs) are where the ADA-compliant studios are located. Request The Springs if you want to be close to the feature pool, lobby and TS dining. Request Congress Park if you want to be within a short walk of Disney Springs. Keep in mind that these are only requests. You will be assigned a HA villa based on what is available on your check in day, since that (and preferred location) will be the room assigner's top priority.

Thanks very much. :sunny:

I understand any requests are simply that-requests, not guarantees.

my main criteria is to be far, far away from smoking areas
