Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Staying at BW Inn for first time as last minute vacation this weekend. First trip in 17 years of Disney without kids. Only available room was a standard room ( entire resort seems to be sold out ). Young couple who just need quiet room after the days events. I know requests are just that but, is there any request I could put in ( King bed, upper floor, quiet area ) that might be fulfilled?
Thanks

The perfect room is so subjective, but a couple of years ago, we were in 4308. End room, supremely quiet, nice view and a king bed. Always put your most important request first.

DW and I have had many wonderful visits to the BWI in standard rooms.

If you want a king bed I would definitely make that your number one request as, if memory serves, most of the standard rooms have two queens.

We almost always ended up in a room with a nice quiet view of the garden courtyard, fountain, or quiet pool. Once we got a view that looked out over the meeting center roof. In the beginning we requested an Epcot view and were rewarded with views of the Eiffel Tower or Spaceship Earth in the background. And a nice view of the higher Illumination fireworks.
Wishing you a pixiedust: visit!

Just checked out of our studio villa today, and very sad to leave! BWI is great, I would definitely stay again. The location is tough to beat (although we've never stayed at a monorail hotel), the boardwalk was great, and the community hall was a favourite with the kids (along with the pool). One staff member in particular that worked the hall, Noah, was fantastic and made the stay much more magical! This was the third DVC room we've had and it's my favourite by far (AKL and SSR are the others).

I loved being able to walk to both Epcot and HS, as it made transportation so much easier.

Glad you had a great trip :).

Hi all! I tried searching but I didn't see it, sorry as I'm sure this is a repeat question:

Does Boardwalk share buses with Swan/Dolphin?

During our trip this week, we shared buses once and that was only because it was late at night and very few people left to board. Otherwise, our buses were dedicated to boardwalk

I haven't stayed at BWI before but have heard from multiple sources that the bus service is unreliable. Did you find that not to be the case? I had basically decided to bypass the bus system in the morning because of this, but maybe my info is just old and things have changed.

Sometimes. Depends on the destination and the time
They pretty much always share to from DS
They rarely share to from the parks except for off times when they may.
No matter if they do share you can always up off at Swan/Dolphin, whichever is first stop, and walk over. If BWI isn't first

The BW bus service is no more or no less reliable than every other resort. They are all hit and miss and purely based on how lucky or unlucky your timing happens to be

Packing now for our trip tomorrow morning!!! Quick question...we are staying in a studio at BWV. Do they have bowls and spoons in the room or is that just the larger villa rooms? Wondering if I need to pack two bowls and spoons for my husband and myself for quick cereal in the room. Thank you!!

Paper bowls and plastic spoons in the room along with luncheon sized plates, glass coffee mugs and glasses. The bowls are perfect for cereal, soup, etc. We actually had sturdy paper coffee cups and lids as well although we brought our own. Utensils are all plastic and a can opener. Paper towel, dish soap and a dish sponge and towel too!

I have found that sometimes the studios don't have what they are supposed to have. If you will need bowls and spoons for cereal, I suggest that you look in the cupboards as soon as you get in the room, so that if something is missing, you can call housekeeping to request it.

You don't want to start your first full day by waking up and realizing that you don't have what you need to eat breakfast.

I've only stayed at BWI once so the only experience I have is from these past 10 days, but I did not have any issues with the bus service. I think the longest wait we had was about 20 minutes for MK, but the bus had just left by the time we got to the transportation hub so we had to wait the full cycle for it to come back. Of course, we only used the buses for AK and MK as we drove ourselves to DS.

We just got back from a week long trip at BWV and we loved it. We stayed on rented points and it was very much worth it.

We had room 4085 which was close to the elevators. The buses were great. We never waited long. We only stood once when we were headed to MK in the morning. Same with the boats. We did the walk one night from DHS and couldn't believe how short the walk was. It was longer getting through the bus stops than walking the actual path. We only shared buses midday when we were going or coming back from AK. The resort was lovely. The CM's great. We ordered room service breakfast twice and we got tons of food and it was delicious. The pool was awesome. The recreation staff do a great job. Shot out to Kristen. My DD12 looked for her every time we went to the pool. DD won a bingo game and got a free craft to do in community hall.

We absolutely loved our stay and I can't wait to go back.

Not real recent, but I was there the first week of June and we shared with S/D more times than not.

Two more weeks we'll be checking into our home away from home. This will be my grandson's first trip :yay:

Hope you have a great trip! :goodvibes
