Not so good lunch at Le Cellier

sigh...Used to be one of our favs. Great service and great food. Last few times was over 5 years ago and the food was meh, the tables so close we couldn't speak without being overheard. The tab was exorbitant for what we received. We've moved on.

Part of the problem is that peoples' expectation of what is and is not great food differs widely. People will say restaurant xyz has great food but there's no context. Great because it's just as good as the Applebee's at home or great because it's 3 star quality?

We haven't been back to Le Cellier since it became a signature restaurant. I think Disney made it a signature restaurant because it was a tough reservation to get. In our opinion it's not a signature restaurant, and never was, compared to others on property. I agree with others that it's too dark and the tables are WAY too close to each other. Want a good steak? There are plenty of other options in Epcot and all over the property that are great. FYI - we don't use the dining plan. We do use TIW though! :)

Sounds like a typically bad experience at LC. Not sure why people continue to patronize that place.

Sorry, but unless you do complain while there you really have missed an opportunity to make this place better for future diners.

I think a lot of us have complained. They don’t care. They have more suckers lined up to overpay for subpar food and service.

I’ve given this place 3 tries. 3 strikes and it’s out. The only thing “Signature” is the price

I honestly think that some give this a good review because they don’t want to admit that they just got ripped off by paying Signature pricing for Longhorn steakhouse quality .

I've let them know why I won't be returning. I agree they are sadly no longer on my list. I've had my share of bad steaks at Disney and some are worse than others. Saying that, I still order a filet because I eat Keto and I get sick of Caesar salad w/chix. LeCellier and Coral Reef are off my list until I start hearing rave reviews from some old timers.

I don't think they feel ripped off, I believe many have never experienced a truly good steak. So they really don't realize they are eating Outback or Longhorn quality. I can't purchase a great steak in my local grocery anymore. I used to be able to but it seems they are not up to par anymore. Costco in our area is the only place I can purchase a prime cut greater than 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. At minimum they should be 1 1/2" thick. IMHO, prime cuts are the only steaks that should be served. You're certainly paying prime money.

:lmao: I totally agree with everything said here.

I miss the days when Le Cellier was a "buffeteria" and served some really delicious foods like Tourtiere (aka French Meat Pie), maple syrup pie and some other yummy, truly Canadian foods. Anyone else remember that or am I just old? :lmao:

PS - SUPER excited the Canada booth for Holidays Around the World will serve Tourtiere! I hope it's at least similar to the one LC had.
