Help in Choosing between Poly/BLT/BW Stay

Hi. I need help, please. We are visiting WDW December 27th through Jan 1st 2018. I currently have POFQ booked for the entire stay as well as two days at the Polynesian as I thought it would be nice to be closer to MK and Epcot on the 30th and 31st. With my current reservations we could either spend the entire stay at FQ or do a split stay with 3 at FQ and 2 at Poly. We'll have 2 rooms at FQ and 1 at Poly for three people. There are a couple of reservations that are open, one for BLT in a one bedroom for our entire stay and then also a 2 bedroom at BW for all of our stay except for the first day. Which would you choose? Thank you. :)

Personally, I hate split stays, so I’d take BLT for the full stay as well as easy access to MK. However, BWV is our home resort, so I might be persuaded to do the 1-4 split - walk to/from Epcot as opposed to walking to/from MK if you’re at BLT.

We stayed at Disney across the Christmas/New Year's week one year. Everything takes more time. Lines are longer, hotels are busier, busses are fuller.

I also don't know that I would bother with a split stay over that week, because I feel like the hotel transfer would take more time than usual. And I say that as someone who often does split stays. So I would probably pick BLT, if the cost was in my budget.

Our MK day is the 30th with Epcot/HS and then probably back to Epcot on the 31st. I'm leaning towards just one resort, I just don't know which one.

That was a concern I had, checking out of POFQ and then heading to MK. At some time, I would have to go over to Poly to check in and get our luggage to the room I would think or do they deliver it to your room when you do split stays? We are not going to be in the room at all that day, and is worth the move. Thanks for your reply.

When you do a split stay and have Disney move your luggage, it will be delivered to Bell Services at resort #2. They will hold it for you. Then when you get into your room, call down to Bell Services and they will bring it to your room for you. Or you can always grab it yourself once you get to the Poly, but we prefer to have them bring it to us.

Okay that's good to know, thanks. I hope they deliver super late in the evening.

I'm still not sure about the three deluxe resorts. I'd love to stay at all of them.

Are these your only park days? Are you spending NYE in EP? If so, BW is the no-brainer choice for me. I can't emphasize enough how bad traffic will be throughout WDW during your travel week. We spend Christmas week 2015 at BWI and it saved our vacation. Being able to walk to two parks and not having to rely on any transportation whatsoever (the boats were jam packed as well), made crowds and wait times a little more doable. I would look at which parks you are spending the most time in and decide from there, but I would definitely switch to BLT (if you'll spend the most time in MK) or BW (if you will spend the most time at DHS/EP).

Yes, it's a short crazy trip. The 28th will be spent at Universal, 29 at AK, 30th at MK and 31st at Epcot/HS. I don't know if we'll stay for the fireworks or not and just go back to the resort. That's why it's hard to choose because we're all over the place.

If that's the case, I would put serious consideration into staying at BW. I know I already stated this, but I can't emphasize enough how bad the traffic will be on NYE. Being able to walk back from EP/DHS is priceless on NYE.

If we plan on not staying for the fireworks, would you still stay at BW? How crazy would it be to get back to the Poly if we leave HS around 8:00 p.m.? Thanks.
