Which foods have your family never liked?

Miracle Whip will never cross the threshold of our home! We are united in that! Otherwise we all have those items we don't care for but others in the home do. My youngest won't touch lettuce, which makes it hard as the rest of us would eat a salad w/ some sort of protein most nights for dinner.
I have a BIL that absolutely will not touch seafood. Nothing - refuses to eat it.

I dislike anything that has fennel or caraway seeds in it.
Black licorice is gross!

DH won't eat onions, pickles, peppers, beets.

DD despises mushrooms and cilantro!
Also dislikes raisins

None of us can tolerate any food that is above the "moderate spicy" level.

My DH pontificated to everyone how much he hated lamb. "I won't eat lamb. DW doesn't cook it in our house. It's too gamey." Finally after we were married for over 10 years, he made me mad one day, and started up on this with friends. I finally told him that he'd been eating lamb since we got married. I just didn't cook lamb chops. He was shocked. I told him it's all about how you cook it to take away the gaminess.

Guess what?!? He eats lamb now.

I can only make Indian food when he's not home. He won't eat anything that his mother didn't make when he was growing up, because "she only cooked good things." I will be making Chana Dal tonight to take to a Diwali party at my neighbors' house. He'll have take out.

He won't eat many other ethnic foods because his mother only cooked Italian food. It doesn't stop me from making them. I just call them different things so he doesn't know that the chicken soup with lemon in it is actually a Greek soup. I guess what I'm saying is that it isn't hard to outsmart him with food. haha

My DD is vegetarian, but will eat fish occasionally.

DS eats anything, just like me.

Younger son dispises all fish unless it comes from a can or pouch; poor dear.
DGD thinks cheese is inedible unless found atop pizza. Weird but at least I don't have to add Cheez Whiz to my shopping list:D. Oh and right now she's against artichoke hearts.
The man doesn't like curry whether the Indian or Caribbean style.
My name is Mickey and I will eat anything.

No one in our family (DH and the 3 kids) likes mushrooms, although we will tolerate them if they are in a casserole

All five of us are huge fruit eaters, but no one seems to like bananas, I buy them occasionally, and they end up rotting. If they aren't too far gone I'll use them to make banana bread, because everyone actually loves that

None of us will even attempt to eat sushi

DS potatoes in any form unless they are french fries. He will physically gag if he tries even a teaspoon of mashed potatoes.
DD hates tomatoes unless they are in ketchup form along with bell peppers no matter how small I cut them.
If DH doesnt like something he will smother it in BBQ sauce to make it "edible".
I'm pretty open and will eat just about anything once.

My family doesn’t like pancakes. What family doesn’t like pancakes. I love them. DH won’t eat cinnamon either.

My wife and I both hate lobster. I can't say if the same is true about our children -- they've probably never tried it.

LOL, I make things that are different too and just call it something familiar. "It's just chicken thighs" when it's really a Moroccan chicken stew. If I said "it's Moroccan chicken stew" everyone would turn up their noses. If I say "chicken thighs," they eat it. Just curious as to what you make for him that his mother made.

Isn't funny how different families deal with different foods? My paternal grandmother was Italian and she cooked Leg of Lamb for major holidays often! Easter & Christmas and big family meals...we love it, having grown up on it. My husband & SIL's hadn't ever had it before they married into our family. One SIL refuses to eat it...my Mother makes her a cornish game hen:duck:so, more lamb for us!! One family argument (arguing over the dinner table - it was our family sport) ended in my grandmother picking up and throwing the leg of lamb at my grandfather.

Now my other grandmother religiously made onion dip for each & every family get together. We now all lovingly refer to it as the "family sauce", and yeah - it's still at each & every family get together!

I probably the pickiest in my immediate family. I despise mushrooms, meat and cheese. DH will eat anything but lima beans. DD used to be pretty picky but she's gotten much better. She doesn't like most seafood and hates lettuce but she'll eat most anything else.

Growing up in my household we never really did Italian food. However, if I would allow myself, I would have pizza for every meal :rotfl2:

Mushrooms. None of us can stand them.

Which kind? The Chantrelle mushrooms they have at Pike Place Market in season are a life changing experience. I love them on a flatbread with some shaved white truffles. My taste buds explode when biting into the first piece.
