Favorite dinner near MK

Hello everyone!

My family and I will be going in early December for a short trip to attend MVMCP and I’m trying to figure out where to have dinner before the party. I am vegetarian but my family are meat eaters, if this helps at all.

It could be in the park (but not many places appeal to me) or in the MK resort area since we will be on the monorail doing some resort hopping before the party.

What is your favorite dinner near MK?

Thanks so much!

What time will you be entering the Christmas Party. I would suggest O'hana or Kona Cafe at the Polynesian, but if you are entering at 4 pm that might be too early to eat dinner at either. If you enter at 4 I would suggest The Plaza at the MK at around 5:45 to 6 pm.

Skipper Canteen in MK is our go-to on party nights. If you would rather eat outside the park, I would recommend the Wave. It has an interesting, diverse menu and you can walk right over to MK after your meal.

I’m still on the debate. I’m vegetarian but DH isn’t, I don’t really see anything too appealing in the menus at or near MK.

I’m considering Brunch at the Top in CA Grill between like 11-1pm. Stuff myself til I can’t breathe and snack around the party of course, that would only work if I happen to get a reservation. Any thoughts on this?

Meanwhile I’ll look into Skipper Canteen and possibly Narcoossee’s, I wasn’t really considering a signature until the brunch was suggested.

When we have attended MVMCP we avoided TS dinners as it complicated evening plans\timing. We did HE for lunch instead and snacked on party treats and QS\snacks, if\when desired

The Wave at the Contemporary - Very nice selection of entrees at dinner time. Something for everyone on that current menu.
I second this. I love the Wave. Hidden Gem. After youre done you can walk over to MK. Very short walk.

Forgive my ignorance but what is HE? Thank you for your reply!
Good question. I dont have a clue what "HE" stands for either. :confused3 @MissionMouse

This is an excellent idea. When we did the brunch, we weren't hungry for the rest of the day. You can get a later time to have brunch and then resort hop until the MVMCP. This way, you dining plans won't interfere with your party plans and if you do get hungry, you can get a snack at MK. I wouldn't do an ADR during a party, it takes to much time away from the party specific activities.

I would take a look at the menu for dietary needs, but the GF Cafe seems to be somewhat overlooked, and is a wonderful, dignified place to eat.

With the added bonus of the monorail!
