Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

We are heading to Pop towards the end of the month, we stayed here during our first trip years ago and are so excited to be going back. When we stayed last time we were in Building 7 close to the late which was nice and quiet but it was a little bit of a hike to the bus stop.

I am not sure where to request, but am leaning towards Building 1 in the 50s ground floor standard room. Is this a good idea or can someone lead me in the right direction :tiptoe:

Building 10 is really close to the bus stop

I sent a room request fax through Touring Plans for building 6, 4th floor, lake view, non-connecting room in the 70's section.
Do you think is a good request? I'm looking for a quiet room but not so far from food court and bus stop.

I think your request might be too specific. You've narrowed the entire resort down to about 18 rooms, maybe fewer depending on the trees blocking the lake view.

The OP is using Touring Plans to submit her request. TP requests are very specific, right down to the exact room number you would like to request. I have used them with great success until my last couple of trips so what was submitted is common and Pop is used to receiving these on a daily basis.

Other than the TP room request service, what is the second best way to put in your room requests? Fax or phone? Even my work doesnt have a fax anymore so would need to find some kind of online fax service or something.

My last trip 2 months ago is the first time ever I didn't get my room request. I don't know if this is true, but Pop seems to be getting fuller over the years, especially this last summer, making it more difficult to filling people's requests. For one thing, before this year, the pool closed at 11 p.m. near August, then at 10 after Labor Day. This year, the pool stayed open till 11.
I really wish Disney would let people select their own room and charge for it.

I'm three-and-a-half for four requesting a specific room. The half being we got a room two doors down from the requested room. The other three; exact room.

LOL - they upcharge for everything else. This might be one more thing they do in the future!

I will say until this year we were always granted our room requests when using TP. This year our original room request was WAY off both times. The first time we kept what we were assigned, the second time I requested a different room and was immediately given a different room. This new room was probably in one of our favourite locations ever and one I would never have thought to request that area.

My plan is to submit a request via TP, call Disney with a couple of the same requests (but less specific) and then see what we get. If I'm not thrilled with the location I'll request to be moved knowing it may or may not happen.

does POP have elevators?? or is it motel style???? I dont know why i didnt think of this question months ago when i booked!!!
