Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

I booke the Swan through expedia. They gave me a room confirmation number along with a conf # for the whole trip. Is that what I use with MDE?
You can try. If it doesn’t work try calling Disney Wholesale Direct at 407-939-7671. They deal with 3rd party bookings like Expedia and Orbitz.

I’ve never booked with Expedia, but when I booked through Costco I had three different numbers. The Costco # came 1st, then Swan followed by the MDE.

Costco Travel Confirmation Number: for the overall package
Swan Confirmation number: just for my hotel
Disney Reservation # - for tickets and to link to MDE

Ok, freaking out. We booked Dolphin on Starwood points last August for our trip in 2 days. We just got a Marriott email that we have insufficient points! I will obviously call ASAP but can’t right now. Anyone with this experience?

I am interested in feedback on this issue. We have 2 2019 stays at the Dolphin that I booked on SPG points back in March under the old points system.

I recently returned from a points stay at the Swan, which was booked at the old points value; I had no issues, whatsoever.
Viewing an upcoming points booking at the Dolphin, that was reserved under the old points value, I'm seeing two unusual notices. The first one states:

Please note – Heads up: your original confirmation number of xxxxxxxxx has changed to the new number below.
So, if anyone has had problems linking to MDE, it could be that a revised conf. number needs to be used.

The other notice states:
Order reward certificate(s) for this reservation (link)
This reservation has e-certificate(s).
Your Reward certificates will be sent to your hotel.
When clicking on the link to order a reward cert for the reservation, it shows the current points value, not the former value, under which the reservation was made. Could there be a relationship to your problem?

Have you viewed your reservation under your Marriott account?

The issue has to do with the award certificate and the fact that when the new system changeover happened mid October, one certificate was not transferred over. We have two reservations, the other is fine. I am currently on a one hour 55 minute phone call and counting and they are turning this into what they call a LD1 urgent case. They have no record whatsoever of the 44,000 points that we used from Starwood. I have all the confirmation emails so I had to forward those. Really making me mad. I’m currently missing bedtime for my two kids while dealing with this. What a mess! They assured me our reservation is not in jeopardy and worst case scensrio is we have to pay cash and then figure it out after. Great, more phone calls. Ugh!.

JJ2017, I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I appreciate that you are sharing this with us though as I guess I will be doing the same with my two upcoming point stays.

Laurie

@JJ2017 sorry you're dealing with this. The merger between SPG & Marriott was a classic cluster, horrible communication and failure to keep their own call agents up to date. If you don't get the quick help you want from the SPG/Marriott rewards, try calling S/D direct.

Thanks everyone. Yeah - this merger is a mess. I woke up this morning to an email from Marriott - re-confirming we don't have enough points for the reservation. UGH!!!!!!!!!!! They are saying they can't find record of my SPG points transaction. I was able to pull that up right away, so I really don't know what the problem is! I'm just waiting now (and trying to distract myself at work BUT - getting super excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

Anyway - we will be sleeping at the Dolphin one way or another TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My kids like chocolate milk in the mornings - it's like their coffee. Does Picabu or Fuel sell small Hershey boxes (or something like that)? I want to stock the fridge. THANKS!

We shared a quick sandwich there a couple weeks ago. I didnt notice whether they stock chocolate milk but I would not be surprised. If not, check out the screen door or the bakery at the Boardwalk. Good luck getting this straightened out

I've definitely bought chocolate milk from Picabu. I think there are local dairy branded 8 oz cartons with the unflavored 8 oz cartons in the cold grab & go area of the line (by the uncrustables) and then there is a smaller branded cooler case by the registers with bottles of Nesquik.

The confirmation number may work, if not, you can try calling the Swan directly and speak to "In House Reservations". Our difficulty involved getting the correct number of guests to match up with MDE. My biggest recommendation is to call asap and not wait until you are close to your 60-day Fastpass. It all worked out for us, but it took 2 weeks of calling, waiting for the system to update.
Good Luck!

I haven't been to WDW since March 2017, so I haven't paid that much attention to all the new building going on. I'll look forward to seeing some new things in a few weeks, and maybe the new Swan/Dolphin expansion will be finished before I return in 2020.

Update on my SPG/Marriott Dolphin issue. No resolution. I have spent more time on hold and going in circles than worth it. I have no idea what to expect at check in tonight, but I have talked to enough people at Dolphin that have assured me everything is fine and to ignore any messages about ordering e-certificates and having insufficient points. So, I'll try to relax (hahahahahaha-you guys don't know me!). Anyway - checking in tonight for 5 nights and trying out CL FPs with our qualifying King Alcove room. Now all I'm focused on is these crazy storms and hoping our flight is on time!

Hope the reservation is intact as they are saying and that you have a wonderful time.

Good luck. Transitioning over to the "Marriott way" has been a learning experience. The positive is that you can make a reservation and you have up until just prior to earn the points.
