Anyone ever stay in a grand suite at the swan? was wondering if any have view of epcot (i know technically swan doesn't have fireworks view rooms) figured if we crane our neck maybe we can see? haha
 
Thank you! Do I need reservations for Garden Grove? And if we're only doing the continental part of the breakfast, can we still interact with the characters? I would like to go with my sons, so I'd just pay for one extra person.
If it's a busy time, reservations help. Most we waited was about 10 minutes. Characters roamed around, so I believe it doesn't matter what you are eating as to whether you get to interact with them.

My view faced the Dolphin. However, some of the windows at the ends of the east wing corridors offer views of fireworks from EPCOT and Magic Kingdom.
 


Also, I'm unsure how S/D if working with the new SPG or Marriott app, but I've stayed at three Marriott/SPG properties and I can check in before hand and give an approximate time of arrival.

Yes, you can do that at Swan/Dolphin. You still need to stop at the front desk, but it speeds up the on-site check-in process.
 
I got an email from Sheraton about our upcoming stay - 5 days! Stated our confirmation number changed. Should I be worried about anything through MDE?

Wanted to add: Previously, we had two separate confirmation numbers because we have two rooms booked, but adjoining - 1 double room and 1 alcove suite. Now we only have one room listed on the Marriott site with one confirmation number. It's also stating something about ordering reward certificates (booked on points over a year ago!)

I have a January Dolphin trip booked thru Costco and my tickets are already set up in MDE. Is there any need for me to pick up the physical tickets from will-call? We will be using MBs from a previous trip.
 


Not really Swan/Dolphin-related (or at least I don’t think so) but I’m here now and there is some kind of special going on where they add park hoppers to your park tickets for free. I had bought mine ahead of time through Boardwalk Tickets (just MYW tickets) but my sister in law bought hers here and they told her the park hopper was being offered as a free add on. I stopped at the ticket desk at the Swan and asked about it and they added the hopper option to our tickets without a problem free of charge. Very happy about that.

Shouldn't be an issue. When did they make the change? I'd say within 48 hours after that change you'd notice if there were any issues. They've already worked the MDE stuff out with Disney the confirmation number isn't shared with Disney so you should be good to go. But if you want, call S/D to verify.

We didn't. Like you everything was setup in MD and we had our MBs, I did swing by the Disney desk to verify anything on our way our in the morning and they said we were good to go. Enjoy your trip. Our Costco deal worked out great!

I made a reservation for the Swan through the hotel website. After a couple of days, the reservation still was not showing up in MDE. So, following others' advice on this thread, I called the in-house reservations desk at the Swan and they sent the reservation to Disney again. (I made sure that all four of us were listed on the reservation, as the Marriott website kept showing only two people, even when I tried to change it.) A few days later, MDE still could not link to the reservation. So I called the Swan again, and they sent it to Disney yet again. It has now been two days, and MDE still cannot find it. My fastpass+ booking date is coming up. What should I do now?!? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would contact Disney Website Support at (407) 939-4357. If they can't fix it, they can escalate the issue, which normally gets the problem fixed.

It's my understanding that they are two totally separate systems. After you make your reservation the inform Disney of your reservation. I want to say you have your Marriott Confirmation # and then another # that they send Disney, then Disney sends you the Disney #. I think that's part of why there are issues, its probably not all automated and opens up for human error. Just don't wait to check the day before, takes them a while if there are issues.
 
As of earlier this week, Marriott took over the Swan Dolphin website. The room rates have increased and you now have to give a pretty sizable deposit down!

I see it on the Dolphin (deposit required becomes reservation prepayment), but not the Swan if I I go through the spg website.
 
Quick question - i know that you cannot use Disney gift cards at the swan/dolphin, but can you use Marriott?
Reports so far are no. The Marriott site says Westin and Sheraton brands do not accept Marriott GCs.

I booke the Swan through expedia. They gave me a room confirmation number along with a conf # for the whole trip. Is that what I use with MDE?
