A Princess, A Royal Room and a CRAZY Auntie EE and Uncle Goey Updated 1/12 COMPLETED

Continued...

For our main entrees, I ordered the Butter-Poached Twin Main Lobster Tails - Brentwood corn souffle, malted popcorn sauce, jumbo asparagus, citrus gremolata $69 and Joe had the Grass Fed Filet Mignon, - Boniato- potato mash, broccollini, with red wine-oxtail reduction $52. Both of these meals were cooked to perfection and we enjoyed them immensely. Gia had a bowl of mac and cheese with a side of fresh fruit.

YUM, DESSERT AT NARCOOSSEE'S...

Believe it or not, we had room for dessert...I had a dessert special. I apologize ahead of time. I have no idea what it was. But, I will say it was some sort of pudding...But, it had a different consistency and was more like a cake. That I remember...Joe had the Mango Sorbet, a no sugar added dessert - with Melon, Pineapple, and Berries $11. Both of our desserts were excellent. Our waitress noticed Gia's birthday button and brought her out the most adorable Finding Nemo cupcake. We even sang Happy Birthday to her and she got to blow out the candle on top of her cake. She loved this!!!!

After dinner, we walked around the resort a bit before picking up the car...But wait!!!! The evening wasn't over yet. Stay tuned to find out how we closed out our first night at Port Orleans Riverside...

Loving your pics of POR. We tentatively have a reservation for there in February and it certainly looks beautiful.

Glad you all had such a good meal at Narcoossee's. Its been a few trips since we've been there but definitely time to get back. And love Gia's fancy face :lovestruc

The food looks really yummy, I love shrimp so both appetizers get a thumbs up from me!

What a cute Nemo cupcake for Gia, I have never seen that one, so nice for her!

Casey will love it!!!! That is IF princesses are her thing. :yay: I just think POR is underrated. It's definitely one of the quieter resorts...

I have to say, Narcoossee's is one of my favs. I totally think you should go back!!!

Gia cracks me up!

Everything looked really good at dinner! Might need to add that to the list.

Gia seems like a very well behaved little lady!

Narcoosse's is one of our favs. Service isn't always the best, but the food has always been very good.

Believe me, Gia has her moments, but for the most part she's very well behaved...

A Carriage Ride to end the Day...

After a wonderful dinner at Narcoossee's, it was time to head back to POR. We had something special planned for Gia to end her day...I had booked a carriage ride (so she could feel just like Cinderella). And, the beautiful thing about this was it was at our resort, so afterward, we just had to walk over the bridge to our room...

We met our horse and driver right outside the Sassagoula Steamboat Company (Main Building). The ride took us through POR into POFQ and back, along the Sassagoula River. It was very relaxing and we all enjoyed it. In fact, Gia asked if we could do it every night...

We've done this ride a couple times now and it never disappoints. It's such a nice way to end the day. Unfortunately, I only have 1 picture that's worth posting...

Tomorrow, we have the most disappointing meal of the trip, from service to food...

Disney Day 2

We were able to sleep until about 8 this morning. So, we took our time getting ready. We showered, got dressed and walked over to the car. It was a short drive back to the Grand Floridian (remember, we were there for dinner last night). Today, we had 9:30 am reservations at the Grand Floridian Cafe for breakfast.

Let me just say ahead of time that we have dined here quite a bit. We've had all 3 meals many times. It's always been hit or miss with the service, but the food has always been good. This time, both the service and the food were horrible...Sadly, I don't think we will be returning for a loooooong time...

Anyway, we parked the car today, and walked over to the restaurant. I gave them our name and we were seated right away at a lovely table in the middle of the front of the restaurant. Gia was able to see out the windows, it was bright and sunny out and just a really good location to enjoy our meal. That's about as good as it gets, sadly...

Our waitress took forever to come over and take our drink order. But, when she did, Joe and I felt cocktails were in order. After all, we were on the Dining Plan and we were on vacation, so win/win. Joe had the Grand Colada - a tropical blend of Myer's original dark rum, coconut, and pineapple topped with Blue Curacao $12.00. I had the Key West - a frozen blend of Bacardi Superior rum, pureed strawberries and orange juice $11.25. So, she brings us our drinks, and I take a sip, and then another and I tell Joe that I don't think there's any alcohol in my alcoholic beverage, so I ask him to take a sip and tell me what he thinks...He takes a few sips, and tells me he doesn't taste the alcohol either...When our waitress comes back, I tell her my plight and she agrees to take the drink back and return with a new one after she takes our food order (mind you, I have NEVER sent back a drink in my entire drinking age life)...She returns with a new drink for me and tells me that the bartender says, now get this...I'm not tasting the alcohol because there's rum in my drink. Huh, really???? I don't argue, because I'm too stunned by the crap that just flew out of her mouth. Well, I take a sip of my new drink and same thing...no alcohol. I ask Joe to take a sip, and he agrees again. I'm defeated at this point and agree to take the loss. After all, I still had my meal to look forward to...

I ordered the Mickey-shaped Waffle - malted waffle served with bacon or sausage $15 and Joe had steak and eggs, but I can't find them on the menu...DISAPPOINTING, EVERYTHING!!!! My waffle was dry and stale. Joe's steak was overcooked and bland. There's really nothing more to say...Gia, however thoroughly enjoyed her Mickey-shaped pancake and bacon with a side of fresh fruit. Sadly, I don't have pics of Joe's meal...

Again, our waitress was extremely slow throughout the rest of the meal, and not very friendly either...

After breakfast, we walked around the resort and took in the beautiful day. Then, we took Gia back to POR to take a nap, because we had HUGE plans for the evening and I knew we would be up late...

Hint: BOO!

My family did this too during our POR stay. It was enjoyable. It made me want to stay at POFQ too. That resort seemed more quaint, I guess because of the smaller size.

Ummm...ok? that's just weird. I drink rum almost exclusively. I've made my own cocktails with almost the same ingredients as your drink. You can taste the alcohol...if you do it right. I can see why you were disappointed with your meal.

POFQ is actually one of my favorite resorts. We've stayed there 5 times and each time has been very nice. I highly recommend it.

Yeah, I was like, really???? We were beyond disappointed. I don't know. Our server was unfriendly and excruciatingly slow. The food was horrible. And, we all know how the adult beverages turned out...NOT VERY GOOD. They were more like smoothies with zero alcohol...:sad2:

The carriage ride really looks so enjoyable, we would see these at our stays at POR and POFQ but never have done one!

So sorry your GFC breakfast and drinks were not good. Weird about the drinks, I suppose now because the drinks are part of the DPP some places will really skimp on the alcohol to save money! Not cool, the drinks do look pretty!

It's a great way to wrap up the day.

We were really disappointed. The food AND drinks have always been good. It was more like I had a smoothie...:rolleyes2

An Evening in the Magic Kingdom at MNSSHP...

We woke Gia up from her nap at about 2:45. Our plan was to be at the bus stop by 3:15 (Oh how I dread the buses). But, we did it.

I bought the 3 of us Halloween tees to wear for the party, but Joe decided at the last moment that he didn't like how his fit, so he opted out of it...Boo!!!! Gia and I wore ours and I thought we looked very festive, even Joe in his non-Halloween gear...:sad2:

We took a quick pic of Gia in the room with her Minnie candy bucket, packed up the stroller and were on our way to the buses. When we arrived, the sign said a MK bus would be along in about 15 minutes and it was pretty accurate. As we were waiting, the wind picked up and the skies started to darken. As soon as we loaded the bus the skies opened up and the rain came down...I was so nervous we were in for a stormy night. But as soon as the bus pulled into the MK, the rain stopped and the skies brightened. Horray!!! It turned out to be a beautiful night.

We waited about 25 minutes to get into the party, got our bands and candy bags, and took the path behind Main Street to take some pics and hit our first candy stop. We also posed in front of the Castle, and got a pic of Joe and me in Adventureland. We didn't have much time because we had our first FP for the Jungle Cruise. But, we made it in plenty of time and got our first ride of the night in. The plan for the evening was to see Hallowishes, watch the second parade, let Gia Trick or Treat and ride only the attractions that she chose. Which meant... no roller coasters for the adults...But that's ok because it was her night...:dogdance:

I love the white sangria at Narcooses! What an awesome meal!

What a bummer about GFC. Theres nothing more frustrating to me when a waitress gives off a mean vibe when youve clearly done nothing wrong. Crazy about the drinks too! Like you'd think you'd taste some alcohol in there lol at least they looked pretty!

I'm considering doing the horse and carraige ride in POFQ, too. Not sure we'll have time for it but we'll already be there so it seems like we should find time to do it! lol

We love Narcoosees! And yes, it was an AWESOME meal!!!! Oh, how I can still taste those tails. YUM!

Yeah, the GFC was a major disappointment. The drinks were more like kid smoothies. The funny thing is that this was the only restaurant that seemed to skimp or SKIP on the alcohol...:D

Whaattt?!?! That is bizarre. I mean you can taste alcohol! Oye.

She is so cute! And Ready to go!!!

The girls LOVE it!!! One is in Pre Med and the other is in Public Policy/Marketing. What is your son majoring in?
So happy your girls are doing so well!! Jack is doing an honours degree in Applied Computer Science. He will pick a double major next year but for now is taking a bunch of different classes to get a feel for his second subject.

I had paid for a standard view (parking lot), but were extremely surprised when our room was directly across from a courtyard with a fountain!!! It was absolutely beautiful!!!
Stunning!

On the way, we explained to Gia that this was a FANCY dinner, so we told her she had to sit with her hands in her lap and make the pouty face...
Love the expression!

Awesome looking meals! Joe had the same meal Bill had when we ate there back in 2016. I always love Narcoosees!

Oh no! What a shame! really not a good meal at all and made even worse by the bad service. :(
