Pixie Dust, or Pixie MOUNTAIN? A Grand (Roy) Disney TR *NEW TR LINK 8/11!*

Well, Ricky started doing this last Thursday :car: all by himself! I'm excited for him and proud of him, but also a nervous wreck lol. He and Steve are beginning to shop for a car. Can't say I'm not looking forward to having to be a taxi a little less!
It takes a lot of getting used to. But eventually you worry less. I still worry a bit of course. But it is nice to not have to be mom or dad taxi service all the time.

Adorable! All done by resort pastry chefs. You have to wonder how they'd taste.........
They are fantastic. It's hard to believe it's all chocolate. I can't remember what was there the year I saw it...I believe the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train was featured though.
Just curious. Given the chance (say at the end of the festival), would you eat the displays? They are so amazing and it would be sad to see them destroyed, but I would totally try eating them. :p

after walking through we picked up Chris's request, which was Ghirardelli chocolate, because I can't pick that up at WalMart or Target any old day lol.

But if you bought them at Walmart/Target, then you wouldn't have paid the Disney vacation up-charge. They wouldn't taste the same without that. I'm surprised Chris asked for chocolate. He strikes me as more of a blanket guy to use for naps.

Love it that you got to see the character training again:thumbsup2
I still can't believe those beautiful displays are all made of chocolate I love the leopard so much detail
That's great you got to meet up with Kathy bet her jaw dropped when she saw your suite.

What an awesome thing to have in the room. We just stuff everything back in the suitcase. You can guess how good that smells by weeks end :-)

Buy yourself a $1 (dollar tree) pop up hamper... it's small and doesn't take up much room in the suitcase, and then we just shove it in the corner of the room or bathroom and throw our dirty clothes in there all week. Then it folds back down to take home.. or if you don't want to bother... leave it and get a new one for next trip.

Um, I walked by those chocolate sculpture things and DID NOT REALIZE THEY WERE MADE OF CHOCOLATE!!!! WTH is wrong with me???
I'm going to blame it on the large amounts of Sudafed I was taking...yeah, that's it.

The flowers are such a nice touch; do they do that for all of the Roy Disney suite guests, I wonder?

Sounds like we will be in the area for your next trip. We are going to St. Pete Beach Thanksgiving week, but husband requested we go to Disney Springs, so we'll be there Nov 20th

We returned to a booth we enjoyed last year and the day before, the Cheese Studio.
Your F&W treats look great!

Me no likey. Not only because no way am I riding in this, but because I think it's going to look ugly and it's not going to fit in. I did like the old skyway in MK only because I have fond memories of riding it with my grandmother, but I was also young back then and not afraid of dying. Or sweating, and these things aren't going to have a/c. Anyhoo back to food-
Not a fan of the gondolas at all!

Yup, I caught character training again!!! Again! And first up I sweated all over the main man himself.
Lucky you!!

OMG, The boys haven't started driving yet and I am nervous about it! Good luck to Ricky!

I skipped some of the other characters like Donald in is sailor suit and Baloo who had long lines. I almost went to King Louie but he was making everyone dance with him and #idontdance. Instead I went over to these cuties!
I would totally love to see Baloo and King Louie!

IT'S CHOCOLATE PEOPLE!
And awesome chocolate at that!

They weren't there when we checked in; such a nice little touch!
Cathy wasn't on her way yet so we decided to go down to the lounge and see what they had out:
So pretty!

And the bread is Citricos KALAMATA OLIVE BREAD which they had every day. There may be one piece on my plate in this picture, but I had 3 more after this one.
That a girl! I would be eating that bread as fast as I could get it in my mouth!!

UP NEXT: MORE PIXIE DUST? IF YOU INSIST......
More???? you weren't kidding when you said pixie mountain!

Ahh I love Mr. Smee and Chip and Dale, so cute!

Wow the flowers were a nice touch in the room.

I’m excited to hear about your additional Pixie Dust, we got the one note about staying at WDW resorts but no chocolate or flowers, lol!

I am soooo not ready for that kind of stuff! Good for him! How is his knee?

Showcase Plaza: Wild Goose: Frozen Wild Berry Acai with Grey Goose Vodka

I was still full from all my eats and drinks but OMG this was delicious and refreshing!
I missed this! Man, there is just so much stuff to try. I am telling Andy we need to go longer next time!

IT'S CHOCOLATE PEOPLE!
I compeletly forgot about the chocolate!!!! bummer.

Over there you can see the "famous" strawberry soup they serve at 1900 Park Fare; I've never tried this as it doesn't appeal to me
Because it is gross, it is basically those yogurt drinks. Blek! Morgan loved it the time we went. Kind of fun that they offer it up there.

It is strange that I know it is upside down. I mean it's a plate of food, why would that matter. Right?

As usual, I’m behind again.

s for the cheesecake, holy crap this was delicious! Steve even fought with me for a few bites and he's not as big a dessert eater as I am. It was creamy cheesecake goodness with enough of a maple flavor that you could taste it but it wasn't overwhelming. I don't normally eat maple flavored stuff but this grabbed my attention between the cheesecake + caramel + pecan crunch

You have taken the words straight from my mouth, madam!

Can you see it? I swear, as usual, I resized it!!
As usual, reading on my phone, or as we young fellers call ‘em these days “my new fangled pocket computer”... so the photos look perfect to me!

He did like this though, but as you can imagine it still didn't top his Flower and Garden shrimp. #sugarcaneshrimpforlife
I love his enthusiasm for Flower and Garden shrimp skewers so much. They should feature him in an ad!

Yup, I caught character training again!!! Again! And first up I sweated all over the main man himself
WHY?! Why do you look like a teenager from the back?! Gah I am failing at life. But you look great!!!

Darn, too bad you didn't have your It's Smee tee on. That would have been adorbs!!!

Also, LOVE the flowers that were delivered to you and Steve, gorgeous! That was a sweet touch on the Grand's part...

The live arrangements are one of my favorite things about the deluxes. They are so pretty and always so perfect for the colors and vibe for each resort.
When we were leaving we saw a couple Floral Dept. Cm's changing the HUGE arrangement in the GF lobby. I had to stop and watch for awhile because it was amazing and a crazy undertaking! They had this gigantic card with all sorts of tools on it; almost like they were performing surgery. Not to mention vases and vases of fresh flowers. One was on a ladder while the other was handing her stuff. They had cloths spread out on the floor around the table with the display on it to catch droppings; the table the display was on was big enough for me to lay down on and spin around on :rolleyes1 you know, if one was going to do that in the GF lobby. And the arrangement was so FREAKING big! Just to walk around it and trim it took forever. I watched for about 20 minutes and I guarantee it was a process that took HOURS.

Example: The Kahlua Slider got rave reviews for years; this year I tried it and the bread was literally slimy from sitting in juices. Yuck. Ruined.
::yes:: Something else I always hear mixed reviews on is the burnt ends hash at the American Pavilion booth, the name of which slips my mind right now. Many love it and then every once in awhile you hear from someone who gets a bad one.

such talent
I know, plus to come up with idea not to mention carrying it out!

How fun to share. I would totally want to see that.
I was really excited to show Cathy and kind of bummed my DIS friends that initially were going to come didn't end up being able to make it :(

My father-in-law is a huge grey goose snob LOL so he calls anyone who mixes it with anything a peasant.
:rotfl: I find that funny because Grey Goose was Steve's drink of choice for a long time, until he discovered the Mule, in Disney. He still goes for GG often and drinks it on the rocks but is obviously not opposed to mixing it and I'm sure would have a lively discussion with your FIL regarding their GG differences :hyper2:

It takes a lot of getting used to. But eventually you worry less. I still worry a bit of course. But it is nice to not have to be mom or dad taxi service all the time.
I believe it. For now I'll continue to freak out a bit like I did today when he 1. stopped at his friends house on his way to the gym with another friend because they decided to pick up friend #2 and I didn't know, so it made the ride to the gym longer and 2. he not only didn't text me when he GOT to the gym he didn't text when he left so I had no idea where he was for ages :sad2:

Just curious. Given the chance (say at the end of the festival), would you eat the displays? They are so amazing and it would be sad to see them destroyed, but I would totally try eating them. :p
 you know, I have a feeling they wouldn't taste good! Kind of like fondant on fancy cakes? They end up looking beautiful but don't taste as good as Betty Crocker. We have a Culinary Institute of America here and at one of my old jobs, we would get the wedding cakes from their baking classes (long story). OMG they were works of art; tasted like crap. Too fancy for my tastes and I have a feeling those wonderfully intricate displays would be the same.
But I may try a piece anyway :D

More pixie dust is coming? Amazing!
Oh heck yeah :tiptoe: We couldn't believe it ourselves! Not along the lines of a Roy suite but something really freaking cool anyway!

But if you bought them at Walmart/Target, then you wouldn't have paid the Disney vacation up-charge.
Steve's thoughts exactly which is why we almost planned a Target stop on the way home instead of picking the chocolate up there lol!

I'm surprised Chris asked for chocolate. He strikes me as more of a blanket guy to use for naps.
You kind of hit the nail on the head, he's definitely more of a fan of the GF slippers we brought back for the boys than Ricky is :cloud9:

That's great you got to meet up with Kathy bet her jaw dropped when she saw your suite.
Her son was funnier, he was in awe lol. He especially was impressed with the TV

This is what I always bring except I normally bring two! And I never bring them home since they usually have at least one hole in them by then but they certainly serve their purpose.

Um, I walked by those chocolate sculpture things and DID NOT REALIZE THEY WERE MADE OF CHOCOLATE!!!! WTH is wrong with me???
I'm going to blame it on the large amounts of Sudafed I was taking...yeah, that's it.
:thumbsup2 We'll go with the Sudafed! I can understand not even knowing they're in the building but I'm chuckling a bit at walking right by the and not knowing :P So......were you like, up close looking at them and thought they were just statues, or did you walk by them at a distance? Inquiring minds want to know!

The flowers are such a nice touch; do they do that for all of the Roy Disney suite guests, I wonder?
I've been wondering about that and a couple other things, and I keep meaning to google and keep forgetting :faint: My guess is they do it for all the guests that stay in the suite? Because as special as we are I assume they'd have to draw the line somewhere

Sounds like we will be in the area for your next trip. We are going to St. Pete Beach Thanksgiving week, but husband requested we go to Disney Springs, so we'll be there Nov 20th
How nice! We're going to DS at night on the 18th, and right now our plans for the 20th are a lazy morning followed by late afternoon/evening FP's at AK. I don't think it'll change much since one of our FP's is for FOP which we all love, especially Ricky, but if anyone doesn't feel like sleeping in (yeah, right..........) we may end up perusing DS a bit since we'll be at SSR

Not a fan of the gondolas at all!
:sad2:

OMG, The boys haven't started driving yet and I am nervous about it! Good luck to Ricky!
:thanks: What age do kids get their licenses up there?

I would totally love to see Baloo and King Louie!
We've met them in AK before they ended their meet, which is sad, so at least they let them come out at character training!

More???? you weren't kidding when you said pixie mountain!
YES pixiedust:pixiedust: Something really cool coming up, and then something pretty cool that was hiding and we found it on Saturday lol.

I’m excited to hear about your additional Pixie Dust, we got the one note about staying at WDW resorts but no chocolate or flowers, lol!
Ha! I'm feeling like the flowers are part of a "suite" stay! We were completely surprised by the next bit of pixie dust for sure, but funny enough another note was involved!

I am soooo not ready for that kind of stuff! Good for him! How is his knee?
It goes so fast which I know people say all the time, but sadly it's true.
Thank you for asking about his knee  We saw the surgeon Monday and thankfully he's now past the danger point of easily re-tearing it! Because this graft was with his bone rather than a tendon like the first one and bones heal quicker, the graft replacement is all healed and strong already. But not strong enough that all is well or that his leg/knee is back to it's original strength or has the strength his right leg does. But the surgeon has given the OK for him to begin running and jumping so yesterday his physical therapist started the running, and he's been doing cutting exercises for the last few weeks :goodvibes Tomorrow is most likely his last day of aqua therapy as he's past that and he'll go to land therapy 3x weekly. His limp is almost all gone unless it's damp outside which sadly will most likely be with him the rest of his life; the soreness isn't as bad as it was at this point the first time around either which is great. Emotionally it's still hard, basketball season starts Monday and while he's on the team again not playing a 2nd year is taking his toll. Good friends and Ricky's amazing determination are getting him through

I missed this! Man, there is just so much stuff to try. I am telling Andy we need to go longer next time!
That's where your AP's will come in handy! We should try to coordinate a F&W trip next year!

I compeletly forgot about the chocolate!!!! bummer.
Unless you go in the Festival Center it's something easily missed as it's not really promoted much unfortunately

As usual, I’m behind again.
:tiptoe: #alwaysbackwards

I love his enthusiasm for Flower and Garden shrimp skewers so much. They should feature him in an ad!
Soon you'll see a Disney commercial featuring Steve holding up a paper boat bowl of shrimp on a skewer grinning ear to ear like a school boy who just looked up his teachers skirt 8-)

WHY?! Why do you look like a teenager from the back?!
1. Because you failed to notice the varicose veins in my legs
2. I got my hair done (read: colored) right before our trip
3. Luckily my wrinkles are only on the FRONT of my face
4. You need much stronger glasses/contacts
5. It must have been extremely late when you read my update

I love that shirt.
:thanks: I keep searching RedBubble for other clever ones lol

Loving all of your pixie dust
Me too! I'm glad you're enjoying my report :goodvibes

Darn, too bad you didn't have your It's Smee tee on. That would have been adorbs!!!
I swear I've met him once with it on but for the life of my can't remember where :scratchin It had to have been either character training or possibly when we did Pirates and Pals....time to check pictures

you know, I have a feeling they wouldn't taste good!
I think you're right. We used to try ordering "fancy" birthday cakes that cost too much and look great, but taste like garbage (for the most part). Now we're happy enough making our own Betty Crocker ones (the bonus then is you can put on as much icing as you want :p)

I'm sure would have a lively discussion with your FIL regarding their GG differences :hyper2:
Oh, that would be fun to watch!!! popcorn::

Emotionally it's still hard, basketball season starts Monday and while he's on the team again not playing a 2nd year is taking his toll. Good friends and Ricky's amazing determination are getting him through
That has to be really tough on him!! Glad to hear the recovery is going well and he's moving in the right direction!!

Joining in and all caught up! I'm trying to get around to all the TRs from our May group.

I know I had a ton to comment on but that was 15 pages ago. I do have to say WOW to that suite, that is just amazing! The only upgrade I've ever gotten was from standard room to preferred room at All Star Music. :rotfl:
