How awesome to be able to spend time with family while down here and also to leave early for Disney because, why not? Hehe I'd probably have done the same thing.

Brunch at the Top and a New Resort:

We were able to sleep in this morning. I think we got up and got moving around 9. We got ready, packed up our stuff, called for valet to come get our bags and the car, and then we were off...We had a 10:40 am reservation for Brunch at the Top at the Contemporary Resort.

Again, we valeted the car and went up to the second floor to check in. We parked Gia's stroller and were escorted to the elevators, to take us where??? Well, to the top, of course...

We were greeted with glasses of champagne and a sparkling juice concoction for Gia (which, she promptly spit back out in her glass), and were escorted to our table. We were seated next to a window with views of the Magic Kingdom and the Grand Floridian. It was beautiful. Of all the times we have dined here, we have never been given a table in front of the windows, so this was pretty special.

Our waiter came shortly after we were seated and explained how everything worked (we already knew all this, but we let him finish his speel). Then, it was time to start with the buffet. We loaded up on fresh fruit, sushi, and yogurt parfaits. I believe we threw in some meat and cheeses too.

BRUNCH AT THE TOP CONTINUED:

After gorging ourselves on the buffet, it was time to order more drinks and our plated meals. Our waiter informed us that the Bloody Mary bar was included with our Deluxe Dining Plan, so I decided I definitely needed to partake...Believe it or not, but I've never had a Bloody Mary...Joe went up to the bar and ordered one for me. Well, after the first sip, I was hooked...This sucker was REALLY good!!!! As for our plated meals, I had the Chef's Omelette Station- Lobster - three eggs, marble potato hash; herb creme fraiche, divina tomatoes, Midnight Moon goat cheese. It was stuffed with lobster meat and it was delicious. I would definitely order it again...Joe had the Vanilla Bean French Toast - Parker house bread, creme brulee custard, caramelized bananas, walnuts. He really enjoyed this too. But, Joe is a sucker for anything sweet for breakfast, so this was a good choice for him. It was just as rich as it looks. Gia ordered a stack of pancakes with an order of bacon. Oh, and a glass of OJ.

Can you believe there is still more to come with this meal??? Yep, dessert...Our waiter brought us out a beautiful tray with all kinds of sweets. Gia, of course, loved the macaroons.

After brunch, we decided to walk around outside on the Contemporary grounds and snap a few more pictures. While we were camera happy, I got a text saying our room at Port Orleans Riverside was ready. Talk about PERFECT timing...We wrapped things up at the CR with a ride on the monorail (GIa's choice), picked up the car from valet, and headed over to POR. Wait until you see our Royal Room and upgrade...

This was the first time in 5 visits, whether it was for dinner or brunch where we FINALLY got a good table...I plan on ordering another Bloody Mary there in May with all you beautiful women!!!! I hope you like it!!! It has honestly become one of my fav restaurants on WDW property!!!

We are due to go back in February but we've had a friend decide to join our trip and I doubt I'll be able to get another person added. Jason is not happy.

I would at least try...When we did our girl's trip in June, we added Timmy to our table and it wasn't an issue at all. They were super nice about it. Plus, I have never seen the restaurant at capacity, even though they say it's full...

SIDE TR/Wedding in Pana, Illinois:

Joe and I went to a wedding over the weekend. My Uncle Jim got married to his HS sweetheart, Bev(his wife and her husband had both passed away). They hooked up and rekindled their romance from years and years ago. They got married at the Oak Terrace Country Club, which conveniently enough was attached to a hotel (where we stayed). It was a lot of fun. And, because the reception hall was next door to the resort, Joe and I partook in lots of cocktails and adult beverages...And, we rediscovered Jello shots. Yep, we were able to relive our youth. And, relive our youth WE DID!!!! Some pics for your amusement and entertainment...
