Pixie Dust, or Pixie MOUNTAIN? A Grand (Roy) Disney TR *NEW TR LINK 8/11!*

This has been my thinking since the beginning, even after our server told us the soup was staying :( so I was not surprised that it didn't make the menu. I just hope it's at TL next month when we're at WL!

Please let me know. I'm interested in if they roll it over.

If I had, I'd be walking like this now :crutches:

img_8542-jpg.359109

With a tub like that, I'd never leave.

Perfection!!! So classy!

Tightrope girl ears!! And if you notice, they match my shirt! Now I'm not an ear-wearer; they normally bother my head after a short period of time. But these were so cute and they MATCHED MY SHIRT! Indirectly, not color-wise but that's her on my shirt, also purchased from Memento Mori. As a sidenote I found these ears super comfortable and wore than very often during this trip, so now I believe I need to buy myself more.

I love her!! And your ears! A perfect match for sure; great purchase.

It was so sweet, there was a blind girl up front with her parents listening to them; she also noticeably had other issues going on. When they finished she went up to them and her parents told them it was her 17th birthday. The girl then asked if she could feel their instruments (I do know what I just wrote, and you're welcome) and their hands, and they let her. Then they broke out into "happy birthday Helen", her name, OMG I had tears in my eyes. I know they'll sing HB regularly but this was very touching. It's moments like that you have to keep in mind when you read threads here with people complaining about the absence of the magic.

That is beautiful! Disney magic FTW!

How awesome to wake up in that suite!! I can totally relate to the wet bangs, I finally gave up and just let them grow out.

I think I saw this once on the Nature Channel. Steve is doing the dreaded hair bang voodoo curse. It has only been documented a few times. Notice the evil grin as he recites the ancient taboo words. Even the lady behind him is in disbelief that the spell has been cast. It is lucky that you remembered just in time that the spell can be blocked by a sheet of thin plastic. You were not kidding when you said "Pixie Dust or Pixie Mountain". I would suggest now is the time to grab a lottery ticket...

For clarification purposes, I started this 2 days ago and am now too lazy to change my intro. However I will add that we received our MB's today for our trip in 25 days :cheer2: which then prompted me to change around some dining, which made me happy. Aren't we all happy whenever we change our plans? It's what we DIS'ers do best. Instead of 50's Prime Time on arrival night we're trying Ale & Compass dinner, and I switched Chef's de France for Yachtsman finally. At some point I'll post our plans, in between all my cool Sept. updates and still do come room pics and MORE pixiedust:

Hi all, hope you enjoyed the weekend! We had some basketball, some cleaning, and Steve and I saw the new Halloween. I love that Jamie Lee Curtis is in it but, didn't particularly think the story was that strong. I mean, after 10 or so sequels how good is it going to be? But I have to see every one that comes out, anyway. Today (remember, old beginning that I already changed yesterday lol) is Chris's 13th birthday, I have no more babies left :sad1: I walked by a display of little boy Christmas sweaters in Target yesterday and I do miss the days I could dress them myself. No way would they put on anything Christmas-y for me now.....I guess I have to settle for bribing them into wearing matching shirts on our trip next month if I ever get around to ordering some!

I hit it again, BOOM!
Day 2 part 3
After the very touching scene we witnessed between Helen and the Dapper Dan's, we headed back to the monorail to get our eat on at F&W. It was a Friday but still early enough in the day that we didn't notice big crowds. Since we entered through Future World, why not grab #firstfood there, too?
We returned to a booth we enjoyed last year and the day before, the Cheese Studio. This time we both got the

Braised Beef Stroganoff with Tiny Egg Noodles, Wild Mushroom and Boursin Garlic with Fine Herbs Cheese Sauce
and I added the
Maple Bourbon Boursin Cheesecake with Maple Bourbon Cream, Caramel and Pecan Crunch

IMG_8666.JPG

oh, but before we made our way to this booth, I ran inside to get myself a cider from the cider flight I'd had the day before. I grabbed a taller version of my favorite, the Ciderboys Zen Berry Hard Cider, Stevens Point, WI

Perfection on all points! I mentioned this earlier in my report but the "tiny egg noodles" in the stroganoff are spaetzle which is awesome. They were cooked perfectly, the sauce is heaven, the meat is tender. As for the cheesecake, holy crap this was delicious! Steve even fought with me for a few bites and he's not as big a dessert eater as I am. It was creamy cheesecake goodness with enough of a maple flavor that you could taste it but it wasn't overwhelming. I don't normally eat maple flavored stuff but this grabbed my attention between the cheesecake + caramel + pecan crunch. I had to try it and I'm glad I did, it may have been my favorite festival dessert.

Next we had a tough choice to make: left, or right? Easier to do in Epcot when there isn't so much food involved!
We decided to go right so Steve could stop in Canada for the

Le Cellier Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle-Butter Sauce

IMG_8668.JPG

Can you see it? I swear, as usual, I resized it!! Now, I had the filet AT Le Cellier years ago and loved it, however last year neither of us enjoyed the festival filet. Steve wanted to give it another go and he said this year it was much better. Last year it was like a lump of fat but this year it was cooked perfectly. To go with it he got the
Château Des Charmes Equuleus Red Blend, St. David’s Bench

I wasn't with him when he got this; he told me he thought it was a beer and wasn't happy when he saw it was wine since he doesn't drink red wine :confused3 Yes I know you don't drink red wine, but what in the description made you think it was beer??? OK then.

Moving on, Steve was filling up and I was desperate for more snacking. Of course he came upon something else for him first when we got to the Australia booth:

Grilled Sweet and Spicy Bush Berry Shrimp with Pineapple, Pepper, Onion and Snap Peas

IMG_8669.JPG

I forgot to rotate this, sorry! Let me tell you two things about the few moments surrounding Steve eating this:
1. He confirmed more than once that this was full of HEAT, and this was then confirmed by the nice older gentleman who was having it for the 6th time in 2 days.
2. We all confirmed that the day was full of HEAT, and this was confirmed next by the ridiculous amount of sweat you will see visible in a picture I'll be posting shortly.
He did like this though, but as you can imagine it still didn't top his Flower and Garden shrimp. #sugarcaneshrimpforlife

Here is a non-food ugly picture that is completely effing up the Epcot landscaping and views around WDW:

IMG_8672.JPG

Me no likey. Not only because no way am I riding in this, but because I think it's going to look ugly and it's not going to fit in. I did like the old skyway in MK only because I have fond memories of riding it with my grandmother, but I was also young back then and not afraid of dying. Or sweating, and these things aren't going to have a/c. Anyhoo back to food-

IMG_8674.JPG

Well, drink and sweat, which as I alluded to above I am deathly afraid of doing now but I do it for Disney. Do you see the sweat beading up and shining off Steve's forehead :rotfl2:You can actually see it on my face too but it's funnier on his. I swear to heaven it was HOTTER THAN AUGUST!!! The alcohol we were holding helped until it didn't :crazy2: Steve had our traditional Grey Goose Slush from France while I opted to try the

St-Germain Sparkling Kir: Sparkling Wine and St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur from the F&W booth in France. It was good! Bubbly and refreshing, not overly sweet but most likely too sweet for my good pal @kastoney who likes things sour puckerup: To go with our drinks we stopped at the booth in Brazil and each picked something to try.

Pão de Queijo: Brazilian Cheese Bread
Moqueca: Brazilian Seafood Stew featuring Scallops, Shrimp and White Fish with Coconut-lime Sauce and Steamed Rice

IMG_8675.JPG

The bread was for me and unfortunately I was disappointed. I had high hopes because cheese + bread, but it was basically a puffy airy bread thing with a very faint taste of cheese. Like, if you were eating a bad meal and needed to fill up in bread it would be ok, but that's it.
Steve didn't fare much better with his seafood stew. He thought the pieces of seafood were ok but the sauce left something to be desired and he actually didn't finish it. #surgarcaneshrimpforlife

We approached the American pavilion rather full but not full enough for one more drink. They had some special drinks at Block and Hans and there was one I wanted to try

IMG_8679.JPG

The Strawberry Magic Hard Cider:
IMG_8678.JPG

Now this baby was sweet! But good sweet at least for me, with a nice strawberry taste.
Steve got a bottle of water and asked if I wanted to keep walking. Well here's where things got really cool. It was about 2:10pm. For those of you who've read a few of my TR's, you may remember that I have pretty good luck with a certain something that sometimes happens on the side of the American pavilion sometimes. This normally happens right around 2:20'ish, and today I felt like trying my luck! We'd had great luck so far this trip so, why not? Steve thought I was silly but he humored me and we sat outside Liberty Inn, and about 5 minutes later guess what happened?

IMG_8680.JPG

IMG_8683.JPG

Yup, I caught character training again!!! Again! And first up I sweated all over the main man himself.

UP NEXT, MORE MEETS, SOME ACTUAL PEOPLE!

If you don’t name a theme or an attraction you get “wine and ears stress relief roulette” ears :p
IDK I kind of like the idea of "wine and ears stress roulette"

(Though the whole “Mother of teens” theme makes me think of an opulent crown theme with maybe one or three black roses to symbolize Chris sitting with strangers on a resort launch when things get too angsty)
No OMG I like this idea soooo much better. Wait, can you do something along the lines of "disgusting boy bathroom sadness? Like maybe wilted flowers of the weeping variety?

Well your drunk friend... uhhh... let’s call her.... Felinda... might have been foisting limited edition pins on strangers kids so I think it’s in the water.
Felinda sounds like a drunken sweetheart. Did parents like her or did they say, "bye, Felinda!"?

I can't believe some people are seriously excited about this. NO chance we'll ever eat there.
You know I totally agree, but I also kind of want to bring you there and get pictures of you meeting all the characters..............

I can't believe it is so close and more importantly I had no idea you had moved to WL. Awesome all the way around.
25 days! I forget what I post and what I don't because my brain is old but yes, I switched our last 3 nights from CSR to WL and I feel oh so much better. I need to see it decorated and this way it'll happen regardless of what happens to our plans.

Not as fancy as our "The Pirate" room but I guess The Roy will do
But your "The Pirate" pictures were certainly just as impressive, I seem to remember Jason commanding a bed I believe :sail:

I love how the honey pecan is written so neatly across the top of the paper and the intricate border around it. You're making me so hungry :-)
Besides seeing you meet the characters at Artist Point I now want to do a dining report with pictures of only food description cards :thumbsup2

How touching. I think my frozen heart may have melted a bit
And I will think of you every time I watch the Grinch for the rest of my life :hmghost:

soooooo, I think we will be up the weekend right before Thanksgiving. So, when you are in Disney yet again.
Of course :(

YAY!!!!!! I love tightrope girl! And your shirt and ears are amazing!
:thanks:

Really enjoying your room photos - keep 'em coming!
Oh I have lots more coming :D

WL 11/22-11/25
Oooh, the same nights we're there

I love her!! And your ears! A perfect match for sure; great purchase.
Thank you!! Sometimes I do impress myself. It's rare, but it happens occasionally.

I can totally relate to the wet bangs, I finally gave up and just let them grow out
Yeah that's pretty much what I'm doing now. I haven't decided yet if I like it or not, but it should be easier when I'm down there next month! You'll notice in my latest update that eventually I put ALL my hair back, because the heat was just out of control and when the heat is out of control, so is my hair

I think I saw this once on the Nature Channel. Steve is doing the dreaded hair bang voodoo curse. It has only been documented a few times. Notice the evil grin as he recites the ancient taboo words. This.Is. Hysterical. :rotfl2:

The cheese cake looks delicious. I'm glad it was as good as it looks. How fun to get to see Mickey!! Only in Disney is sweaty dancing with a mouse a fun surprise.:)

Even though I hate the way the new gondola station is going to take away the peaceful atmosphere around the International Gateway, I am excited about the project in general. The only way that I am not going to take a ride on this thing is if it turns out to be claustrophobic. :)

Yup, I caught character training again!!! Again! And first up I sweated all over the main man himself.

I can't imagine a better meet and greet than with the main man himself. You are sure having a lot of good luck on this trip. :)
We ran into character training with Rapunzel a few years ago. A CM pulled us into a closed off section and took pictures with her. It was fun but not as good as Mickey.

I have no idea how you do it. When there is that much heat and humidity, I just don't feel like eating. The food looks good, but no way. But, I would have no problem with the cold drinks...:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

I sure hope the weather is cooler at Thanksgiving. This past weekend I got my MB but the wife and kid's MB were missing. I did 2 chats with Disney and they blamed poor Stitch. This morning I got an email that the MB's were being shipped. Guess I have to take the family after all. :rolleyes1

Confession: I have never seen a Halloween movie. Not one of them. I used to watch some horror movies in high school, but then decided they really weren't my thing. I have no shame in admitting that now I am content to sit down and watch a Disney princess movie on a Friday night. Times change.

Instead of 50's Prime Time on arrival night we're trying Ale & Compass dinner, and I switched Chef's de France for Yachtsman finally.
All those sound like good options. Although I kind of tired of 50s Prime Time. I would love to try Yachtsman someday.

Steve had our traditional Grey Goose Slush from France
I'm so happy to report - spoiler alert - that I finally had one of these. It was awesome!

I've been scratching my head ever since I heard they were adding the gondola system. I don't get it. And it really does ruin the landscape.

Steve and I saw the new Halloween. I love that Jamie Lee Curtis is in it but, didn't particularly think the story was that strong. I mean, after 10 or so sequels how good is it going to be? But I have to see every one that comes out, anyway.
So, when the entertainment guy in Chicago reviewed it, he said when watching this movie, you have to pretend that all the other sequels didn't exist. It's meant to just pick up 40 years later. Now, I LOVE the first Halloween!! I kind of liked that this new one didn't go over-the-top bloody, etc. that newer horror movies do. It really kept things sort of similar to the style of the first movie. It wasn't "deep" by any means, but I still enjoyed it! "It's not a cage....it's a trap!"

No way would they put on anything Christmas-y for me now.....
Jimmy is approaching that age faster than I like to think!! Though, I did get him to agree on his Christmas sweater for this year....he REALLY wanted a Gryffindor sweater to wear with his Halloween costume (Harry Potter, of course!) I told him the only way I was spending that kind of money on a costume accessory is if he wore it for Christmas, too. I guess we're both happy this time around LOL

Ugh the gondolas. I'm not a fan of this project. I don't want to ride one because they scare me. I'm also afraid of what it's going to do to the International Gateway entrance. I like staying in the Epcot area resorts and I think this is going to take away from that. Maybe I'll change my mind once they are up and running but I doubt it. I think I'm in the minority though and most people are excited about them.

I really shouldn't read trip reports about Food and Wine on an empty stomach. I want all the food. Steve's shrimp looked really good and I haven't seen that dish on a review yet. I'm so excited that I will be able to finally try some food and wine items next year. Finally!

I love that little meet and greet spot next to America. We've stumbled upon it twice and characters are a lot of fun.

"1. yes, I'm wearing a poncho
2. yes, I'm holding it over my bangs. Do you have ANY IDEA what water will do to my bangs????? They'll curl up into my skull and I'll look ridiculous!
3. however I probably look more ridiculous wearing a poncho on a water ride on a day the heat index was 450.
4. yes, Steve has his hands in a position as if to say, "what the heck is she doing???""

OK this makes me feel so much better!! I too wear a poncho and my husband, boys, friends all make fun of me but I HATE having half wet butt syndrome and wet thighs squeaking together for 2 hours after getting off:scared: Thanks for making me feel better!! :hippie::hippie:

That cheesecake looks yummy! I'm so disappointed I was too sick to try it. We tried the Filet at the Canada booth and both ended up tossing ours. We both got super fatty cuts which was disappointing.

I have *SO* many pictures where DH and I look like we're drowning in sweat. In all of them DH's shirt is drenched like he just rode Splash Mountain over and over. It's pretty comical now, but wasn't then!

Following! I just got caught up and may I say...

- The Roy. WOW. Please please show all the pics you have. I love pics of places I'll never see!

- Helen and the Dapper Dans - all the tears, all the feels.

- How to insert gifs: I just search for gifs in the Google search bar (ex. "Mickey gif"), click on the Images tab, find the one I want, click on it to bring it up (I don't even bother going to the website, just enlarging it is enough). Right-click and copy image, then in your body of text that you're typing, click where you want it to go, then right-click and paste. Super easy actually. And doesn't count against the 10 photo limit.

- More!!! I need more and am so jealous you're going for Thanksgiving!!

tenor.gif

Oh I'm so jealous of your upcoming trip! DH almost had us booked on a short trip right before Christmas. Which is truly insane since we will be back in January anyway.

I'm with you on the HOT! We were miserable just a few days later!

Love it when we catch character training! It's always a surprise! ;)

I'm back and just trying to catch up on some trip reports! I started reading this last night in the airport while waiting for my plane and had to go back and re-read this morning because my quotes went away :confused3

Master bathroom, that is:

img_8615-jpg.359106

This is just amazing

This was my bathroom btw. I did let Steve use the cool, huge, marble shower though! But other than that, he used the guest bathroom. When I told him that was how it was going to be he was like, "why? This one is huge and has 2 sinks!" Well that's no excuse, we have 2.5 bathrooms to use!
#useallbathrooms

:rotfl2: I'm too practical…I would make Mike use another bathroom too just to get some use out of it!

Next up, the dressing room!

img_8549-jpg.359110

img_8576-jpg.359112

Are you sure all your gowns and purses could even fit in there?

I never wore the bathrobe when we stayed CL at the WL, but I did put this one on one morning when I was chilly :goodvibes And see those slippers in the package under the safe? They got us a new pair every morning, so while Steve wore one pair while there we brought a pair home for each of the boys, plus gave one away. But that's for later ;)
Here's a close up of the slippers:

img_e8621-jpg.359119

I love those! When we got married on the Magic, we stayed concierge and all got slippers. I loved those suckers and wore them for years!

Lounge Goodness

When I read this last night and again this morning, I thought it said, "Lounge Goddess," which is actually a more fitting title :wizard:

That's why a trip to Chick A Pin Falls and the Laughin' Place sounded like a good use of a FP:

splashsept-jpg.359263

1. yes, I'm wearing a poncho
2. yes, I'm holding it over my bangs. Do you have ANY IDEA what water will do to my bangs????? They'll curl up into my skull and I'll look ridiculous!

4. yes, Steve has his hands in a position as if to say, "what the heck is she doing???"

:rotfl: Great picture! I don't so SM without my poncho! I try to kind of leave my hood off until after the picture though, but I usually end up in a crazy weird pose with my hands up trying to get my hood on :crazy2:

Here is a non-food ugly picture that is completely effing up the Epcot landscaping and views around WDW:

I can't believe how many of these things there are, they even go over some very busy roads, which was very surprising to me. Mike and I had talked about whether or not we'd get on them and after first walking from EPCOT to DHS (which was awful and MUCH further than it used to be!), and then a different time waiting for a boat (had to wait through a whole first boat of people), I told Mike I would get on them just because they seem much more convenient. He was still a hard no. But then when we were riding Peter Pan, I said, "Look, you're on a gondola right now!"

Anyhoo back to food-

img_8674-jpg.360578

Great pic! Love those ears

It was about 2:10pm. img_8683-jpg.360600

Aw…good for you! You have good luck with that! I looked at those doors one day when we were in EPCOT, but I didn't know they came out at a certain time and we decided to just keep walking.
