A Magical Anniversary in the WILDERNESS *Pixie Dust Everywhere* Completed 11/19 New TR Link

I'm sorry your meal at The Plaza was disappointing :( We love going there! I usually order what your DH had, and it's so tasty! I have had that weird drink experience there, too! Someone from the DIS I think mentioned that fountain drinks are dispensed cold anyway, so I ordered without ice last time and had no trouble. Glad the ice cream was a winner at least! :)

I really think I should have gone with a sandwich! And going without ice probably would have been a good call. I think I was thrown off because I thought it was a regular coke instead of diet the first time and then I realized it was the ice on the second one and basically just gave up haha

There is just nothing like dinner in the castle!!! We usually do breakfast because my son's favorite girl is Cinderella and he's too picky for dinnertime, but my husband and I had dinner there in January and I fell in love with CRT all over again!

There really isnt! My cousin did the breakfast before and loved it. I need to try it sometime!

Time for dinner in the castle!

We checked back in right at 8:15 for our reservation.

We took our picture with Cinderella and had our names called to go up before we’d even gotten our picture with her. I had somehow booked this dinner under my maiden name so we were the LeGault family once again and Dan was annoyed haha He had ptsd from our honeymoon where everywhere we went they called him Mr. LeGault because my name was listed first on the reservation so apparently they went with that for both of our names. I did legally change my name so I feel bad anytime this happens because we're the Colton family!

I feel like the lighting for these pictures is just not great. Like Elsa and Anna have great lighting! Cinderella, time to bring that castle to the 21st century! :rotfl:

Once we took the picture we were hurried up the staircase. Not that I mind a short wait but I like to look around and see if I can spot anything new!

I love the walk up to the restaurant, the winding staircase is so cool.

We got an awesome table next to the window, I was so excited to be able to watch HEA from there too!

There was a beautiful sunset this night.

To eat I started with the charcuterie plate (which I apparently did not take a picture of) and had the Beef and Shrimp for my meal.

This was actually so good. In fact, everything was so delicious and made up for my not so great meal earlier at The Plaza! I know CRT can get a bad rap for food quality but we both enjoyed our meals. I'm not sure if this option is always available but I really loved it!

For dessert I got The Clock Strikes Twelve which was also really good! The last time this dessert's cake was really dry but this was perfect.

There was such a significant improvement in the meal from the last time I came here! I would highly recommend this to anyone! Plus, even though you pay ahead of time if you show your TIW card (I believe AP discount would work here too) they will give you the discount back onto the original credit card that you used to book the dinner!

The princesses tonight were Rapunzel, Snow White, Ariel and Sleeping Beauty and they were all lovely. They all did a pretty good job of making some conversation with us before moving on, except for Sleeping Beauty. But when you’re an adult I get that they just want to move on. She also got to us after the fireworks started so she might have just assumed I wanted to get back to watching them.

The best part about our table was that the fireworks were right outside our window. It was so cool to watch the fireworks from our spot. The pictures make the windows look pretty dirty and they were but it was actually pretty great viewing!

We even got to see a sweet proposal next to us. I always tease Dan that he messed up by not proposing to me there:rotfl2:The woman was so excited and was going around to all of the nearby tables showing off her ring in the glass Cinderella slipper. It was beautiful!

I think that because we were seated next to the engaged couple people assumed we were the ones who got engaged because we got a few congratulations on the way out! :rotfl:

Dinner was just so amazing, I'm just glad this was our last meal in Disney !

After dinner we stopped by Buzz to use our last FP of the trip and try for Galactic Hero one more time. We failed again but was still a fun way to end our night!

I'm really shocked we didn't stop for any photopass on the way out of the park. The lines must have all been really long or I was just in denial that the Disney World part of our trip was over!

We packed a little when we got back to our room and then popped open our gifted champagne. We had been so tired the night we received it that we decided to save it. I’m so glad we did because it was the perfect way to end the Disney World portion of our trip!

Tomorrow we were off on our big adventure for our very first cruise! I hope you'll all stick around to hear about our experience! :sail: (I know this isn't a cruise forum but it is a DISNEY cruise so I think I'd rather just keep it all in one place!)

When we went on our honeymoon, the reservation was under my maiden name. I had teased my husband I wasn't going to take his name anyway (I did) so he was annoyed, too, at being called by my last name.

I look forward to your cruise portion!

Dinner at the castle sounds magical!! I remember going as a kid and loving to get to go inside the castle! Definitely on my list of places to revisit! Excited to hear about your cruise too, I love cruising and I'm sure being on a Disney ship is awesome!

Sounds like an amazing afternoon and evening at MK! Your dinner at CRT sounded perfect, especially getting to see the fireworks from the window!!

Definitely go back someday! Such a fun experience, even as an adult!

It was a great day!

Sorry your meal at The Plaza wasn't that memorable. We have always had really great luck there...
CRT seems to go up and down for us. Breakfast has always been great, but dinner, not so much...

I LOVE sitting by the windows!! We have been lucky all but one time to be seated there :)

My husband ordered this one in January, but they really have jazzed up the clock since then!! :) His was just a chocolate circle with gold dusted numbers on it.

I'm really excited to hear about your cruise!! We haven't sailed with Disney since 2006 on our Honeymoon, but we just booked for next Christmas, so now I am trying to soak up all the Disney Cruise info I can!!!

I feel like it must have just been a bad night! I'll definitely try it again at some point!

I wonder if CRT depends on who is cooking the food? Because this was just really good but I definitely remember the last time we went it was just okay!

Its amazing! We were like next to these tables our first time but when I went with my Mom and sister we were closer to the stairs which was still magical but not as cool as being right next to the window!

It was much different than the ones I've had before too! I wonder if they change it every once in a while? I just looked through old pictures and realized I've had three different versions of that dessert there! :rotfl:

July 2016

May 2017 (I'm guessing this is what your DH's looked like!)

And July 2018

Too funny!

That's how I was! We had never done any cruise before this one so I think I read every blog and DIS topic and watched every vlog I could to prepare! I was determined to not be a first timer who missed out on something! lol

We had dinner at CRT for Andi’s Birthday in November and it was very good!

The dessert you had looks really good, I think it does look different from a couple years ago.

What a wonderful way to end your park visits!

I’m excited for your Disney Cruise part of the trip.

Great report! I am from Hamburg, NY and was just at Hotel Lafayette this week for a work event! I’m sure your wedding reception there was wonderful. :-) My hubby, sons and I will be staying at Copper Creek in January so your pics around the lodge are getting me even more excited!

What a Great way to end one chapter and begin a new one!

Its a shame they arent more consistent with their food because it definitely can be good! And looking through my photos from the last few years its definitely changed a couple of times! :rotfl:

How awesome! Hotel Lafayette gives me very Tower of Terror hotel vibes but like obviously not the creepy way haha what I would expect it to be like in its prime!

Wilderness Lodge is so amazing! I'm sure you'll love it! I really love how Copper Creek is right in the main building too so you get the same vibes!

What a Great way to end one chapter and begin a new one!

Yay!

The views out your window at dinner looked stunning. What a perfect way to end your last night at Disney!

It really was a perfect end to our Disney World trip! (well the land part at least)

Yep, that was it! Except he didn't get those cute little dots! I kind of like when they change things up as long as it's not the taste that changes :)

Exactly! haha

I will say that I really enjoyed the Plaza when I was there for lunch in August. The service was wonderful. I ordered the Reuben, because I'm an absolute sucker for them, and it was delicious. And huge. I couldn't finish it. The fries weren't anything special, but good enough. And the atmosphere was just perfect for a little lunch break in Magic Kingdom. Hopefully you have better luck next time.

Your trip has sounded so fun and looks like you had a great time. Hopefully the cruise is wonderful as well!

I think I missed the mark by not getting a sandwich!

We had a great time! The cruise was awesome too!

DAY 9 Part 1

Before we begin today's update, here is a throwback of me and Dan from five years ago at the Wilderness Lodge for dinner!

Back to the update!

We were up and at em pretty early this morning because we had a cruise to get to! I took some goodbye photos from our balcony, it was such a magical trip to Disney world!

We really had a hard time leaving because it had just been such a magical trip, between all of the pixie dust and just being together in Disney we really didn't want to go! Thankfully, it wasn't like we were heading home. We were about to embark on a new kind of adventure, our very first cruise! (Disney or otherwise)

By 9:30 we were off to the cruise! Goodbye Wilderness Lodge!

We had done the research and realized it was cheaper (and easier) for us to keep our car for the duration of the cruise parked at the port and transport ourselves to and from the cruise. Plus, it gave us the convenience of getting to the cruise when we wanted but also to get breakfast along the way!

We stopped at Mcdonalds by the All Star resorts before heading out on the road. We were both pretty hungry and we weren’t sure when we would get to eat next.

Breakfast hit the spot! I had considered having us have breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe prior to hitting the road but since sit downs can be long sometimes and we were pretty new to the whole cruise thing, a quick stop at McDonalds was the less stressful option!

Our drive to Port Canaveral was super easy with little to no traffic. The sun was shining and we were so excited to get to the Disney Dream! About ten to fifteen minutes out from the Port we stopped at a local 7/11 for Dan to pick up two six-packs of beer to bring with us onto the ship. Disney Cruises allow each passenger to bring on a six-pack or two bottles of unopened wine or champagne at each port. Since I don’t really drink, he got to use his allotment and mine to bring on two six packs of beer. We were lucky to have stopped when we did because I don't recall seeing any places closer to the port to grab anything like this. So if you are doing this I would suggest either stopping somewhere closer to Disney before hitting the road or planning ahead where you can stop along the way!

We made it to Port Canaveral by 11:20. It was so cool to see the Disney Dream waiting for us!

We were definitely newbies when pulling in but figured out what to do pretty quickly! We dropped our luggage off to the porters and then decided to pay the extra $20 to park in preferred. We were very happy with this decision because we had such a short walk to and from our car! We thought the preferred parking would be so much more but for $20 we were both on board for that!

The entrance was like fifty feet to the right of our car. It was amazing!

Our port arrival time was 11:15am and we pulled into the lot at 11:20am so we were pretty much right on time for what I had expected!

I had Dan snap some pictures of me before heading in.

I think I need to mention that while I was excited for the cruise Dan was beyond excited. He has ALWAYS wanted to do a cruise but I always steered away because I wasn't sure it was really for me. If I'm not going to Disney, put me on a beach somewhere and I'm happy! But we had been watching random vlogs on Youtube prior to our trip and happened upon a Disney Cruise vlog and we both fell in love with the idea of a cruise (well I did ONLY if it was a Disney Cruise!). In that moment we basically decided to add one on to our July trip! So this was basically Dan's dream come true!

Heading in!

By the time we checked in our boarding group had already been called so we were cleared to head onto the ship (we heard our group while in line so we were happy it hadn't been much earlier!). Some people had told me how awful this part of cruising was and for us it really wasn’t bad at all! There was a long line but the line moved quickly and there were no hiccups! It took us less than 15 minutes to check in!

Heading onto the ship!

And I think I'm going to stop here for now! I just realized I did a lot of video this day and need to go through it and pull out the photos that I can :sail: Eventually I will put everything together into a youtube video for my own memories but I am so lazy when it comes to putting those together! :rotfl:I still have my videos from my March trip I need to do!
