Buffet, Character, Shows, AYCTE Pricing (rev: 06/30/2019)

This is an important string. Much obliged to you. The Trails End Buffet is truly great large moon lamps and considerably more affordable. That Boma cost in June makes me insane. As much as I need to eat there (in light of the fact that I remain at Kidani), burning through $200.00 for that smorgasbord for a group of four is route outside my customary range of familiarity.

This increase was big, has prices ever jumped this high in one fell swoop before?

Not since the Mickey Ice Cream bars went form $3.50 to $5.00 !

We think they used this to justify the increase in DDP - so "snack" could include the ice cream without major guest complaints.
One of these days, people will realize what a Ripoff DDP is . . .
. . . few people actually save money versus menu pricing
. . . by increasing DDP costs, they can increase menu prices without people noticing
. . . by increasing menu pricing, then can increase DDP prices

A typical never ending Upward Price Spiral to get more per-guest spending and per-guest profit for Ogre (I mean Iger).

This is just one reason we NEVER eat a meal at WDW without at least a 40% discount from the menu price.

100% agree with the dining plan costing too much. I don’t eat the way the plan is designed first of all. Secondly if I did I still wouldn’t eat as much as the plan cost. I don’t want to feel like I have to eat the most expensive meal to make it “worth it”. Third if I consistently picked the most expensive meal to make it “worth it” my tips go up accordingly. We want to order exactly what we want when we want it. We have AP which is only 10% off most TS meals which helps too. Honestly this latest price hike on top of all the other ones = us taking a few years off for the first time since our first ever trip 12 years ago. We will enjoy vacationing elsewhere until their 50th. We will be taking a trip in early June before our passes expire. It’s been fun but time for a break. Disney has finally hit our breaking point.

+1

I have never once done the DDP, and I eat everything and everywhere I want. I would only do it if it were free. I always come out ahead in cost.

I am sorry . . .
. . . my prices are slightly lower than reality. As of Oct-1, WDW jumped their pricing by 10%-25%.
. . . would have updated them before now (10/13/2018), but have been in Ireland on vacation for 2-1/2 weeks.

I always knew you had a bit of the blarney about you, Rusty!

I just made some reservations for May 2019 and some prices were different than what was listed as the latest on here.
Crystal Palace and Garden Grill breakfast Adults $40.47. Kids$24.50
Rivers of Light dinner package, lunch at Tusker House Adults $58.55. Kids $35.15
o’Hanas for dinner. Adults $55.38. Kids $30.89
Cinderella’s table for dinner. Adults $89.09. Kids $53.29
1900 Park Fare breakfast. Adults $42.60. Kids $25.56
Chef Mickeys breakfast. Adults $48.99. Kids $29.82.

Just wanted to share what I learned by calling the Dine Line.

How do you do that?

Good question. The only way I'm aware of would be maybe a castmember discount....?

The best I can do is around 30% overall and that's by combining a few different things and a LOT of planning.

1) I have 2 rooms so I put 1 on DXDDP and will share credits among all of us using the credits only for the most expensive TS of my ADRs.

2) Because it's DXDDP and apps are included, we will use 3 TS for the 5 of us at some places....once again carefully choosing to do this at restaurants with menu's with the most shareable items.

3) I have DVC, AP and a Dis Visa that will give discounts on my OOP meals.

4) I've purchased Disney Gift Cards at a discount of about 11% to pay for the dining plan and the OOP meals.

What I didn't do....

It was tempting to make ADR's at the couple of places that offer the largest discounts, just for the discount, but I'm sticking to my list of where we wanted to eat regardless of discount.

Is ASkershus still one TS credit??? Just asking since it's up to around $65 per adult around same cost as BOG which is now 2 TS credits. My confirmation does indicate 1 TS credit but I don't want any surprises...
