This Is Us- Season 3

I was really annoyed that Beth felt like Randall was in wrong with Kate and he was the one that owed her an apology. I loved the scenes with the the 3 Kates and Jack.

No matter which sibling we might think was right or wrong, it was good that Beth gave Randall the push to open up the dialogue between the two. They both got to clear the air, get everything out in the open and own how they hurt each other and apologize. That was a win all around in my book.

In the grocery store scene, when Rebecca runs into Jack, the shelf seemed awfully modern (for instance, cereal in little plastic cups. - Weren't the individual servings in the tiny boxes back then?) It doesn't spoil the show for me or anything(!), but I didn't get that instant sense of time that I usually get.

Ha, I said this very thing to my daughter when we were watching on Tuesday! I was ok with the modern fruit can labels, that would take a lot of work to remedy. But putting something on the shelfs that didn't exist back then was a pretty sloppy slip for this show. Cereal cups were definitely not a thing then, we had the little boxes with the little wax bags inside.

I did also notice the focus on Beth drinking and I hope they aren't going down that road. We already have one alcohol addiction storyline. Well 2, if you count Jack.

I think the focus on Beth's drinking was simply a way to link the present scene with the past scene with William. It reminded her of sitting at the table and talking to him with the same drink in her hand.

I was thinking something along these lines. I don't think they would give a third character in the show a drinking/drug addiction.

Ok watched last night and caught up. I had to pause when Beth told Randall about the text chain. I was laughing so hard. LOVED her in this episode the most.

Didn't think I could love Jack MORE than I already did.

Absolutely agree. Picking up that bottle carried her thoughts to the last time she had done so and brought to mind what William said to her. When Randall kept blathering on about the latest strong feeling that he simply can't let go of Beth found herself sitting there, spinning her wedding ring. She realized it was the moment she needed to speak up and have her needs be the overriding priority of the moment. Hopefully Randall summons the pieces of both Jack and William within himself and responds accordingly. If he doesn't I'm afraid of the consequences.

I know Randall will come through for Beth. Seems like he is ok and able to work again. Well, running for office is stressful too.

Not trusting Kevin's new girlfriend. As always, Beth is probably right about her.

I don't trust her either. She had NO interest in going to the interview with Kevin when he suggested it. She only wanted to go once she realized who was interviewing him and she used the opportunity to pitch her documentary to the interviewer. Don't like her.

I’ve starting watching all the episodes over again just to see what clues I missed the first time around and all I can say is that the first few episodes are really rough. It’s so good to see that the characters got more rounded.

Just watched tonight's episode. After the last episode, I had a strong feeling that Randall's next step would be to run for political office. Looks like that hunch was definitely right. It will be interesting to see how he and Beth work this out with her losing her job and William's advice to her about making Randall be the "bass" for awhile.

I liked the dream sequence with Kate and her younger selves. Especially how she spoke to teen Kate and assured her that everything would be okay and that she would be a mom someday. Feel like there was strong foreshadowing there and that she will be a mom, though still wondering if it will end up being through adoption.

I don't think I can watch next week's episode. I know it's an important piece of Jack's history, but I don't do well with war stuff like that. Will probably just read the synopsis of the episode later.

A Political Campaign is very expensive and insanely stressful. I've seen it for myself up close. They've already bought a building and Deja's adoption I don't see how they can realistically afford it now that Beth is not working.

I was very annoyed because Randall wasn't wrong in confronting her about what she said. And should have apologized to him to for her "utterances" Lol

Randall overstepped like Beth said. I'm glad he was finally able to say he was sorry to Kate.

Agreed Randall was angry and stepped outside of his point in confronting her about trying to get pregnant and adopting instead. He definitely should have said while I support what your are trying to do it will not make you have more of a piece of our father which is the point he was angry about.

I did really like this episode. I can't wait to see next week's Turning point for Jack.

If you run for political office, don’t you have to live in the municipality? I think Randall’s family lives in NJ. Isn’t the community center in PA?

They do own property there but I'm not sure. Is it TV rules or reality rules lol

In one scene, the coffee maker was too modern. Looks just like the one on my countertop now.
