Ugh. That's no fun. Been through it once, so let me know if I can help you at all.
Well, if you can think of anything in particular that caught y'all of guard or that I need to be weary of...
that'd be a good thing to know.

She alive and well, living and working in Hawaii.
Then she's doing a dang site better then most of us...
(glad to here it though)

Hope all in the path of the hurricane are well. I saw a video clip from St. George Island where the in-laws have gone for vacation in the past and storm surge water was over the house windows.

DS just got his driver's permit so watch out if you are traveling through KY.

Morning All from a wet Fredericton.

Hope everyone that had to deal with the storm is safe.

Morning, lads.

Snow. It snowed. Tooooo early for that nonsense.

Welcome to Winnipeg!

Nice! So when are you buying him his own car?

I watched some video from when the storm made land in the pan handle, that was scary stuff.

No. Just no! I'd march down to the news station and protest the weather guy.

My daughter got her license several months ago and is still petrified of actually going out on the road.

I know how you feel. its going to be in the low 50's here next week; I will have to break out my big coat this weekend.

Hey Cliff, she doesn't post on Facebook much, she uses instagram more. Are you on that?
Nope, this is the closest thing to social media I use, I have twitter but I only use it for news. I think I have a Facebook account my wife set up for me 10 years ago but I have not logged in in years.

Chilly here today too. There was ice on my front step early this morning. Thankfully no snow...yet. It warmed up a few degrees above freezing later today, but still feels cold.

Always a big step. My DD has had a permit/license for 2 years now and I still haven't really adjusted to it.

I will help him out if we can but I had to buy my own. The difference is I worked from about 7th grade on whereas he hasn't though he wants to. Jobs in the heart of Appalachia are scarce for everyone particularly a high school student with no skills or experience. He would rather have a motorcycle if given the choice.

Note taken. Best of luck to him

Thanks

Not a bad thing. DS wasn't in a hurry and delayed almost a year because I rolled a car on a wet mountain road here 4 years ago and seeing my laying in the hospital shook him up. He had almost recovered enough this summer and was going to get it before school started and then SWMBO got t-boned. Public shaming by his classmates finally pushed him to get it. We will do a lot of parking lot driving before he hits the road I think.

Always a big step. My DD has had a permit/license for 2 years now and I still haven't really adjusted to it.
Just new worries I suppose, but being an older dad I am pushing for them to get as independent as they can be while I can still help them out.

Mine spent 2 years finishing her drivers ED. But now that she is 18 she decided that she was ready to drive herself. Of course now she has to pay for her car, gas, insurance, ETC and is having second thoughts. LOL She complained the other day that all she barely had enough money to cover her bills and didn't have any left over to go shopping with. welcome to the real world. I also had to remind her that she needed a better job because when she graduates in may and moves out she is going to have to add rent and food into that budget.

I hate to be captain obvious here but 34F doesn't just feel cold it is cold. Thats 2C in Canadian degrees, its cold in any language.
