The prices in the video are not actual prices, just a representation. I would not put any weight in the prices that are displayed in the video. There is even a disclaimer in the video that clearly says, 'Prices shown do not reflect actual pricing,'

Do not go by the prices in the video.

I realize this - but my point was that everyone is screaming how they have increased prices and that may be true on certain dates at certain times of the year, but the opposite might also be true and may be lower.

I would love to believe this but after being around Disney for MANY years, I can't remember a time when ticket prices decreased, at least in the last number of years. Would love to be proven wrong but I believe the majority of days will increase in price. We may see a few days stay the same but I'll be shocked if they decrease.

We won't know for sure until Tuesday but most people are going with what we know now rather than gambling on what we don't know.

Yep. NO WAY are they going down or saying the same.

The only ticket change I can recall that was even remotely similar to this was when they originally went to the MYW tickets and unbundled the no expiration and park hopper options as add ons. Does anyone recall if a plain base ticket was cheaper than the predecessor that included the hopping and no expiration? Or did the “new” base ticket start higher and prices went up from there?

I haven’t purchased my tickets for my November trip yet. Should I buy them before Oct 16th? Or will prices not change after Oct 16?

Has anyone looked at resort prices currently? I could be wrong but wouldn’t that be a gauge of when prices will be higher or lower for the new ticket pricing?

We are purchasing 7 day park hoppers for our kids for a Feb 2019 trip. I seriously doubt they are reducing prices, and even if so....it won't be by anything significant. Now--increasing their prices? Highly likely and historically this has been the case.

Not necessarily. Resort prices are often included in a discount going on which can skew the prices. Resort pricing also changing based on occupancy rates which is something park tickets won't do. They won't be fluctuating on a daily basis depending on how many people buy.

I already booked for 4/30 - 5/8. My friend purchases tickets from either UCT or Maple Leaf and will not be purchasing until December. Will she need to give whoever, the dates of our trip and pick the first day of use????

That is what we expect will be needed. We won't know 100% until Oct 16th. Still many unknowns.

Sorry for the late response, I just called tonight. I was told as long as the tickets remained unused they would expire Dec 2019. He said the expiration date should change after check in if they aren’t used. Fingers crossed he was right!

Hi did you call Disney or UCT? THx!

I'll go against the consensus - I think Disney will reduce prices for a very few days. Just so they can say - see we did reduce prices to try to shift crowds. It may be 10 days out of 365 but I really think there will be a few days out there. And it may only be a very few dollars per day.

That being said:
Next trip we are arrive at Disney on a Tuesday in mid January - value season. However I still bought tickets last week. The slim chance to save a few $ wasn't worth the risk to have to pay much higher prices.

Right .. I could see cheaper prices for a Tue-Thursday at the end of January ... that way they can advertise "prices as low as" .. but in reality the average price will go up all around.

I am just curious what the range will be from lowest price to highest price. Are we talking $20 difference or are we talking $50 (or more)?

As I've said in another thread, I had planned to just upgrade an old (no expiration date) ticket into an AP when I arrive. Now I just may buy the APs outright and save those tickets for later use.

A 5-day ticket that cost me $350 in Feb. 2017 is ALREADY significantly cheaper than ticket prices today. I can't imagine the "steal" I'll be getting if I go to Disney in 2021 or something with that ticket.

Though I am curious if Disney could just arbitrarily say all old tickets are immediately expired (and just give you the original purchase price in credit for them) to force you to use the new tiered ticket system - thus forcing the "controlling" aspect of steering guests to go at certain times.

You figure that a lot of guests already have their tickets for the next year .. so the date change really won't effect crowds until 2020.

That's it. I'm done. They finally broke me, this is the last straw. It's time to go to Europe. You win, Disney.

This comment made me smile. I'm SO with you on that. That's where we've been for the last 7 years- Europe, twice; and Hawaii once. For us, the prices are the same since it's long-distance flights no matter what. It's less stressful to careen down the streets of Rome in an unlicensed taxi w/o seatbelts while the cab driver yells at pedestrians in Italian, than it is to navigate rope drop at AK!!

Problem now is the eldest son works for the DOE with tippy-top secret clearance and it's a huge pain in the neck for him to travel overseas due to all the checking up on him they have to do when he gets back. :magnify:So we'd thought we'd be nice to him and stay here this time. The things we do for love. :love2:

As it happens, I just got off the phone with a very nice CM, and he said that any ticket already purchased should be honored, and in fact if you have to add or otherwise adjust the days on a multiday pass it wouldn't affect the price of what you already have. He said that, much like resort reservations, there's a code they use to honor prior pricing.

And then he said, "Be sure to spread the word!" and I said, "Oh, you've had this question before, have you?" Poor guy!

I bought UT 2 tickets for the next 2 trips my husband joins me on next year (I'm an AP holder). I kind of wish I'd spread them apart though - they are etickets and both are on the same email with the same code since I bought them at the same time.

I thought that was strange - I tried to link them to the account and it just thinks and thinks and thinks without moving to the next screen. So I may have to call to get this straightened out. But at least he has tickets and it'll give me time to figure the best way to handle the new ticketing system.

I figure if AP ticket prices get out of control for next year I can just use one of the tickets for myself to upgrade to an AP so it won't seem like the price is so bad. Disney logic ya know.....

1. Yup.
2. Correct.
3. That'll work.

UNFORTUNATELY, that info is not necessarily correct.

Well I booked a stay tonight for CR next October- a garden wing room opened up for the dates we had wanted and wanted to take advantage of current ticket pricing- figure this covers us if ticket prices at that time soar sky high and if for some reason they are cheaper I’ll book a new reservation and cancel the old one. Have a bad feeling October-December most days will be extremely pricey- what a change from 10 years ago when December was a dead time and so cheap... now I’m interested in seeing what this new pricing is all about.
