Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

 on your lap? Good lord the entire resort would have heard me. And "the rats?" Other than Mickey, Minnie, and Remy, I've not seen a mouse/rat in WDW, thank god.

It’s about a 3 1/2 hour direct flight from where I live to MCO, I’m guessing I could have been home in about 3 1/2 seconds if that happened to me.

I have had some of the Joffrey’s iced coffee that is pretty satisfying.

If I remember right I’m pretty sure you can use snack credits to purchase if on the Dining Plan.

I know FL is full of snakes. That said :scared1: doesn’t quite match how loud I would scream seeing that. We love the hot tub at quiet pool. Move along Mr/Ms Snake por favor.... now if you’ll pardon me I need to make our not ground floor room request...

I'd phrase it as "upper floor" - it's too easy for "not" to get missed.

That said, much as I don't like to think about it, snakes can climb buildings...

Do not wander around the resort late at night. Yes there are rats. I would rather see a snake, gator, shark anything, but a rat. They totally gross me out. Kind of funny when you think Disney all started with a rat.

As far as the Cabanas we saw no evidence of Cabana building going on. We had a very nice stay at the Yacht club. We stayed at the Beach club in 2017. Next year we're going to move over the Boardwalk or up to Wilderness Lodge.

When we stayed at Coronado in July I was super paranoid about the gators lol. When we were walking around the paths by the pool at night it was SO dark and we had the water on our right pretty close to us. I asked DH what would happen if one just came out of nowhere and he basically just shrugged. I guess I'm the only one thinking ahead before my death :boat:

I'm probably going to catch some grief from people who disagree, but...

And what the heck! Here's a picture of me at my first job about a million years ago showing one of the reasons I come by my loyalty to DD honestly

I have gone into a Starbucks and asked for a black coffee and have gotten the response "What?"

:coffee:
Fellow DD girl here myself! I had my first job at Dunks when I was 16 :) Although it had the opposite effect on me and I was so sick of smelling like grease from the donuts and old coffee that when I quit I refused to go back to a Dunks for like 5 years afterwards. Ugh, I can still smell my clothes after a long Saturday morning shift. Blech!

We used the walking path from DHS to Epcot one night and hubby was terrified a gator was going to come out of the grass or out of the water that he was speed walking until we got to the Boardwalk!

We spent the night at one of hotels by MCO. I got up at 5am to go for a run before our flight. It was dark out and I was running around this lake. It suddenly dawned on me this is Florida...lake...gators hunt in the dark. I ran a 4 minute mile out of there. Like pp said the fear is not totally unfounded I've read a few stories about joggers or walkers being killed by gators. I know it's rare like shark attacks, but it does cross your mind.

Quick question...don't crush the newbie....Staying at a 2BR BWV next month. I see the drip coffee maker in the pics and listed equipment. I assume that this are starter supplies there when we get there but will these supplies be refreshed daily?

TIA

If you are staying on points then you will only have the starter coffee and will need to bring your own coffee and basket filters. If you booked a cash stay then you will get the coffee refreshed daily. We always brought coffee and filters from home, even though we always stayed on a cash reservation. Having good coffee that I bring from home is one of my favorite things about staying in a villa. :)

Pictures or it didn't happen!

Just kidding ;)

Yes, the uniform smelled really bad, especially since smoking was still allowed at the counter at the time I was working.

But my boyfriend (now DH) worked at a seafood restaurant and his clothes were so much worse. His shoes were NASTY!

:scared:

Staying on points or paying cash?

Staying on points - no. No daily housekeeping. Someone is supposed to come in once a day to remove your trash, but they don't do anything else.

Staying on cash - you are supposed to get daily housekeeping. But if you get back to your room at night and they forgot to bring coffee supplies, how will you react? Will you call Housekeeping and ask them to bring some to your room, and be okay with it? Or will you be mad because you're exhausted, you don't want to wait for them, and you desperately need it in the morning? If the latter, I would bring my own supplies. (I have stayed on cash and had Housekeeping miss my room for a day. I assume they got the points resies and the cash resies confused.)

Yes staying on cash. We have a meal plan too so I can always run folks mugs over to the marketplace too....

We stayed at BC Sept 29-Oct 6 in room 2629. It's a garden/woods view overlooking the main exit out the back of the resort, 2 queen beds, daybed, full balcony, connects to room 2631. It was a great room! We've previously stayed at BCV and preferred this location much more. We just had to take the stairs by the elevator, walk through the elevator bank, make a right, and we were the first guest room on the right. SO quick and easy to come and go.

We didn't have any trouble with the busses. I was fully prepared to take Minnie Vans if we had long waits but we never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus and mostly walked right onto a waiting bus, were able to get seats, etc.

I'd upload a file but they are apparently too large

Do you have an iPhone? I always email the pictures to myself and when it asks what size I pick one smaller then "Actual Size".
