Official Wine & Dine 2018

It’s not a bait-and-switch, it’s literally the only way they’re able to have a bib issued from Disney Sports.

When the travel agency does not specify those terms anywhere on the website, lets you add a bib to the cart for just the price of the bib, takes your credit card information, then sends you an e-mail confirmation of just the bib price amount, and only the next day e-mails you saying that in fact there are additional terms and expensive requirements they did not disclose, as a method of attracting business, that is a bait and switch.

Well, good luck then. It’s pretty much listed everywhere what the terms are - and just because you input a credit card doesn’t guarantee anything. Were you charged for said bib? No. They were going through what you would be charged for before they processed payment to issue you a bib.

Quite bizarre you've taken such a keen interest in my situation in such a negative light. I'm not new here, and your assumptions are false, so just for other's behalf in case others may run into a similar situation, I'll state again that it is not listed anywhere on this particular agency's site what the extra terms are, they did charge me for the bib, and I've already disputed the charge with my credit card company. I also e-mailed RunDisney about the agency so they can "remind" them about the requirements for selling bibs and the appropriate ways to disclose terms.

Long story short it's probably worth calling an agency vs filling out an online form if they appear to be going around the RunDisney requirements for bib purchasing, to avoid a similar bait and switch.

You should name the agency so others know to avoid.

I didn't eat properly yesterday, which is my own fault for not remembering to get the chicken out for dinner. But I've not hit the must eat all the food phase of that after my run this morning. Ignoring it because I know it's not necessary and I'm eating what I normally would. Just reminds me how important fueling is prior to a long run too.

This is my first Wine & Dine half. Is there much to see and do in the finishers area immediately following the race? Just trying to figure out how much time to set aside for the finishers area before booking my post race massage.

They have characters you can take photos with after the race and some post race refreshments but otherwise that’s about it. You can watch the awards ceremony too out there if you want.

Thanks. Doesn’t sound like I will need to set aside much time. Straight to the spa for me!

I posted on the running thread as well but I was just in Orlando for work and manged to duck out of a conference a day early to go check out this year's Food & Wine. I liked a lot of the offerings but found the merchandise pretty bad. I am hoping they have better options for race merchandise.

I went to the Boardwalk as well one day to do a run and the construction walls that go from DHS back to the Boardwalk are narrow and had a lot of turns. I am usually pretty alone by that portion of a half but in the middle of the pack where there are crowds it will be a problem.

With that being said I am really liking the courses. I wish every race they did ran around the World Showcase and I'll get to do it twice this trip. I'm hoping to be able to come in under 43:00 in the 42's for the 10K. Not the goal I had originally set but looking at my times it is where I will likely fall but if we get a nice cool day I may be able to get into the 41's. The goal was always to place in my age group for the 10K then just run an un-embarasing half the next day. If I can come in under 1:35:00 with my focus on the shorter races this year I'd be happy.

This is worrying me too - we were just down at Disney a couple of weeks ago and I was surprised to see what a mess that area is. It's usually a cluster during the race even without the construction, which has me concerned for the W&D half.

Quick question I probably should know but is there admission for the kids races or is it free? I suspect it is free for parents but if other family wants to come is there WWoS admission?

My sister has a 31XX bib for the half and she doesn't have a POT if that helps anyone trying to figure out where they are.

I'm freaking out a bit because according to this, my bib number has me in F but the time I submitted should have me in D.
What did you submit, and did you save a screen shot of it? Worst case, you can take it to Runner Relations and ask for it to be fixed if it was done in error.
