The Case of the Sleepy Blood Disease, Very Good Very Good! Trip Video! Updated 12/18

It's Erin's Night

After lunch we decided to head back to the resort to relax a bit since our 5am wake up call this morning took a lot out of us. Erin did her usual laying by the pool while I crashed hard in the cold AC room. You can never complain about a solid 2 hour nap. Then it was off to AK for the night.
We were off to the bus stop around 4:30. While doing my usual disney planning months prior to this trip we made this day Erin’s day. She had a few things she wanted to do while in Disney, one of them being eat at satuli canteen. Since she picked lunch this day and dinner, it obviously became Erin’s day. So while we were waiting for the bus both Kiss and Erin asked what our plan was when we got there since we didn’t have FPs. “I don’t know Erin its your day what do you want to do?” She was unimpressed with the idea but I made sure I was sticking too it.
We arrived at AK around 5pm and were ready to conquer the night.

We hopped in the stand by line and kept a lookout for BFF brittany who was on her way to join us. And honestly it is always great to be reunited with one of your best friends. The reunion didn’t last too long before we started headed into the theater. Tonight we headed for the elephant section.
Once the show started we noticed right away that there was no princess. I have never experienced a show without one of the main singers not there. But right away I volunteered as tribute to sing those harmonies during Can You Feel The Love Tonight.
With one person down we were all anxious to see if anyone else would be missing…more importantly if all monkeys would be performing. And with our luck our favorite one was there.

Once getting out of the theater we found Brittany’s boyfriend Joe waiting out front. Then we were off to Pandora to get some dinner at Erin’s choice of Satuli.
It was rice bowls all around because its the best option on the menu.
Tonight I went with the rice bowl with chicken and creamy herb sauce and it was so magical when Erin got her herb sauce on the side because she doesn’t use it. More deliciousness for me. I was torn because I oddly wanted to try the green beer but was afraid I wouldn’t like it so I went with the safer option and got the pandora sangria.
Erin also got the sangria to get her moneys worth but she didn’t end up liking it, so Brittany was more than happy to finish it for her (this was a start of a new thing for the two of them)
As we waited for our food Erin learned a new trick done by the quick service CMs. There are those who will rip your receipt or scratch the paper with their nail. The scratching trick caught Erins eye and it was all she did at the table. Who knew playing in ink would be so fun?

29292072187_feaa07086c.jpg

After dinner it was what should we do? I had to remind everyone it was Erin’s night. So only Erin could decide. With her just standing there awkwardly saying she didn’t know what to do there was Brittany “Did you say death ride, prime evil whirl? Perfect lets go”
So off to the other side of the park we go! When we got to Dinoland the chipmunks were out at their dance party and they are super cute in their dino costume. We stopped to watch for a bit before we jumped in line for Prime Evil Whirl. This is always the ride where your like what a short line, but immediately regret it once getting on.
We made it out alive and we were back on the go. At this point we were just walking to walk, and then we found ourselves at Everest.

I just found your trip report and am enjoying reading about your latest trip. You guys always seem to have so much fun together. I can't wait to read more.

Satuli Canteen is definitely on my radar for places to try. My son ate there on his Senior Trip back in April. They only ate at the quick service places but he raved about how much he like the chicken bowl that he got there. I don't think I've ever seen blue sangria before but I'm up for trying it. :drinking1

Thanks for joining along on another one of our crazy adventures!

It's the best QS hands down. They just add some blue curaçao to make the pretty blue color!

The Case of Zika 2.0 And A Disco Yeti

With one round of Everest down, we had some time till our FP to go on again was ready. We didn't go that far, but found a spot to sit down and rest. Tonight I felt the bugs out and ready to attack. This is when I learned about Zika 2.0. Its a new disease through mosquitos that was found somewhere in FL according to Joe…and honestly I was pretty sure I was going to be the next one with it that night.
So with one night left to be Zika free I might as well live it up.

Zika 2.0 was quickly gone with the topic of the Yeti. But more importantly that new news of Joe Rohde tweeting that he was still on it to fix the disco yeti. This brought up the quick lesson to teach Erin what said Disco Yeti is and what the Yeti was like when Everest first opened.
Now lets to find us a Disco Yeti!
(Always a little jealous that I never get chosen)

The trek up Everest made Erin hungry and went on a search for a Mickey Bar. But she ended up coming back with a pretzel. She said she couldn't decide and the CM suggested the pretzel (I’m thinking because they would just be throwing out the pretzels at the end of the night)
Then we were off to not really Erin’s choice…but more like Kiss’s choice. And although it was Erin’s night she was ok with the decision of see what Nomads lounge was all about.

44227721031_8df47001c2.jpg

First thing to know, this menu is huge! And we came an the very end of the night so we didn’t have much time to decide.
Erin and I both went with the Lamu Libation - Africa; Starr African rum, Cruzan banana rum, guava puree, with tropical juices topped with Gosling's 151 rum float
Kiss went with the Tempting Tigress - Indonesia; Russell's Reserve 10yr bourbon, St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram, Tamarind syrup, and lime juice
However our waiter brought out the wrong drink (Hightower Rocks - Central and South America; Casa Dragones blanco tequila, watermelon, sweet-and-sour and lime juice)

I would give this lounge a solid 9 out of 10. Our waiter was a bit not disney and seemed to be annoyed. But the couches were great to lounge on and the drinks were good.

Brittany and Joe called it a night and headed out. While the three of us made the short walk to pandora since Kiss has never seen it at night. So tonight was dedicated to walking around a dark yet glowing Pandora

The park was open for another 5 minutes so we decided to head out and call it a night.
The wait for the bus was an interesting time. Today was muggy, it was one of those nights where you felt like you were just melting into a puddle and being in a line so close to people was not an enjoyable thing. Then to add to that our bus seemed to not want to come and this made so many people mad. So while we watched so many all star sports busses pass we also watched this child pass out cold on the ground.

42419851220_60c5e3c3f4.jpg

A bus finally came and the ride home was awful. Mostly because I was surrounded by angry guests who wanted everyone to hear their opinion about our wait situation. The lady sitting next to me just kept going and going “A poor kid feel asleep on the ground that shouldn’t happen, why couldn't we get one bus when so many sports busses showed up, they want you too take the busses so why does this system suck”
At a point I almost fired back “Maybe the parent should have held their kid so they weren’t sleeping on the floor. Or better yet not keep them out so late. Sports is literally right around the corner from the park while FQ is on the other side of property. They don’t force you to use the busses its just a nice convenient thing for guests staying on property next time just pay for your car and drive to the park” These are all the things I wanted to say and more however I know when to bite my tongue. Plus that could have ended in one awkward ride home.
So to change the mood, Erin and I discussed all the places I want to travel too.
We made it home alive, and I ran off that bus to get away from all the crabby people. Once we got back to the room Erin and I grabbed our mugs and headed off to get some pop. When we got to the QS I noticed that beignets were still a thing so I jumped in line and brought them back to the room to share.
Mickey Beignets make everything better!

43509881154_61773f4596.jpg

And with that we called it a night.

Just Go With The Flow

Another day, but not another morning waking up before the sun. Today we treated ourselves with a 7:30 wake up call. Then around 8 we headed down to Sassagoula’s cause erin wanted some beignets for breakfast. I had no intentions of getting anything for breakfast but then Kiss and I saw that they had biscuits and gravy for a snack credit. We both ended up getting it and for a snack credit this was a lot of food. I only had one biscuit and was full.

44436320641_2b47c0605a.jpg

After breakfast we waited which seemed like forever for an AK bus. One eventually came and once arriving we were on a mission to get dinosaur and everest done. Thanks to pandora most of the crowds head that way leaving nice short waits for everything else. So first stop dinosaur!

42626650170_3dddf04ca6.jpg

On our way over to Everest we passed by the Nemo theater when Erin said she had never seen it. So we added that to the things we needed to accomplish today. But first Everest.
The stand by wait wasn’t bad at all…the only bad thing was those darn bells. I try to just run pass them but when the line stops right at them you can only hope someone isn’t stupid enough to start the ringing. Luck wasn’t on our side and once one person did it then another and another and another.
Is yeti real? Well in this day and age…Pic or it didn’t happen!

44436323511_a8c3933958.jpg

30567402468_30e049513c.jpg

Catching a Yeti is tiring and I was in need of some hydration. So we stopped at the near by snack shack grabbed some waters and Erin got the popcorn bucket.

42626647240_dd0018ef29.jpg

The first Nemo show was at noon, they weren’t even letting people get in line at this time so we decided to enjoy some shade on the bleachers.

44436327921_ce0eee0c4d.jpg

44436328911_d64b73ecd9.jpg

When the line officially opened it was funny to see everyone run not to the front but for shade. So any part, aka the front, was open for anyone who wanted to wait in the blazing sun. Before the doors opened Brittany found her way to us and then we were in and got some pretty great seats.
I haven't seen this show in what seems like forever and honestly I don’t know why. The production over all is great, the original soundtrack, the puppeteering…10 out of 10.

In the big blue world, I’m gonna go explore
In the big blue world, That I've never seen before

Cheetah 48!

If you don’t walk out of Nemo sining Go With The Flow then we are not the same. But honestly how many times could Brittany and I shout “thats my dad! Thats my son!” well apparently up until we got over to Kilimanjaro Safari.
Today’s safari was great! It was so hot out that I was prepared for a not so animal filled safari but I was wrong. SO MANY ANIMALS!

The rain was still going strong once we got off. It was still on the manageable side of being able to walk in it and feel ok with it. We tried our best to get to the front of the park because they sky completely opened, mostly because I was the only one who brings a poncho with me while at the parks in the summer. We made it to the harambe village before it was almost game over. At any moment we were going to be drown rats…Brittany booked it to Pizzafari with the three of us right behind.
Although this was our actually plan before the rain, the rain brought more of a crowd to the pizza joint. There was a line formed in the front room before the normal line for food. So we jumped in that line and waited. With the crowd we knew it would be a while before we ordered, but also there was going to be a slim pickings of tables. So Erin went in search of a table and we all ordered our food.
Kiss doesn’t understand why Brittany and I enjoy this pizza so much. Honestly me either its just disney pizza. And let me tell you we were both so unimpressed with most of the QS changing over to the plain flatbread pizzas but once Pizzafari brought back the OG pizza we knew we had to eat here. Heres to pizza, side salad (which bless Erin for not wanting hers so I got two) and Mandarin Orange Vodka Lemonade. Only downfall is there was no parmesan cheese packets or ranch packets to dip the crust in.

29563685687_2235619126.jpg

We had FPs for Navi River, we were just contemplating if it was worth walking there to go on it. We did because we did have Fps and I’m still a little disappointed with it.

43783497134_948fdcf84f.jpg

And with that we decided to call it a day at AK. But with us we can never just leave a park before we take photos.
Now here we have two types of people, those who can actually take a nice photo

It was a WILD day but even more of a WILD time trying to find Brittanys car in the parking lot. “CHeetah 48….I think” Well we got to the last stop of the tram ride with no section of Cheetah. So there we were walking aimlessly in the parking lot. Plus side is that there was a row 48 so we walked all the way down hopping it was the right one and thankfully her car was waiting at the end for us.
On our way back I texted Alish that we were heading to the resort. Our original plan was having a pool afternoon break before we headed to dinner that night. Well with the rain and the sky still grey and not promising we decided to switch said plans. So instead of swimming we dropped Kiss off at the room who just wanted to sleep while us girls decided to see what deals Cast Connections had for us.

Very Good, Very Good!

The luxury of having a CM as a sister is her perks of cast connections, a warehouse shop full of discounted merchandise. To any disney loving person who loves their disney apparel or merchandise in general this place is heaven. Going in you never know what to expect, every time is different, it just depends on what merchandise they decided to take off the shelves in the parks. While it is a lot of Disney world merch, you can also find cruise line, disneyland, and sometimes some over seas merchandise.
Whenever we walk into the warehouse we all go off our separate ways in hopes of finding some good deals but not spending your how life savings.
With my first round I was already arms full and knew I needed to put things away. After that we all seemed to find each other and we headed into the small room that has normally resort things on sale. They had a full bin of old CM costumes but mostly just plain pants. Then there was quite a few things full of old christmas decorations, ornaments used all over property for only 50 cents each. I think all 4 of us were about to buy some but all decided not too. The rest of the room was filled with the old dressers from all the room refurbishments they are doing.
We decided to call it quits and head to the cash register before we picked more stuff up.
So with this round of cast connections I put down $80 and came out great.
I got the 45th Magic Kingdom shirt, Disney world varsity jacket, and a shanghai disney purse for myself. Then I got two phone cases one pandora and one Aulani for my parents who just got knew phones and my mother asked me to keep a look out and the 45th anniversary hoodie for Gma. So how I view it is the varsity Jacket original price is what I paid for everything I bought at cast connections and thats a steal.

43885884264_cac439644a.jpg

Erin got a 20th Anniversary AK shirt, the MK 45th shirt, shanghai disney socks, an AK beach towel, and a coloring book.
Then it was back to the resort to get ready for one of my favorite dinners on property, California Grill. As we were getting ready we tried talking Alish into going with us. Her and Justin were planning on going however Justin was training for Fantasmic the whole time we were down, meaning he was doing overnight rehearsals and then working his normal shifts in the day. So while he wanted to try it they knew he should probably just go home and go to bed.
Alish hung out in the room while we got ready. First up Be More Chill soundtrack and bother Kiss with Michael in the bathroom. While we were all just everywhere, with our stuff everywhere we got a knock on the door. Hurry turn down the music! It was a CM who was coming to check the room, since we had our do not disturb sign on our door too many days in a row. Sorry we like our afternoon naps? The guy came in, walked around, probably thought our room was attacked by a tornado and then left.
Switch to Jason Mraz new songs and Alish was telling us the story of her best friend Ryan. He worked in costuming in NYC for waitress and was Jason Mraz’s dresser and with that the two became close friends. And now Ryan gets sent avocados from Jason’s Mraz’s farm. Casual things.
We headed out at 5, Alish headed home and she told us to text her once we were done with dinner. Once arriving to the contemporary, Brittany was making wrong turns all over the parking lot. Sorry we don’t want valet parking, there was some sort of dance convention thing happening at the contemporary today so the self parking was lacking spots. We drove in circles before we found someone leaving.
Off to California Grill!
CG has been forever on the top list of places I always wanted to eat. Last year Erin agreed to go with me and we both loved it. So when we decided to do the dining plan I was willing to throw my choice and credits to this meal.
We checked in, waited for the text message saying our table was ready, then to the elevator and up to the top we went. Once getting to our table first up drinks.
Kiss went with the Milk Stout and enjoyed it

43695082915_533eb57324.jpg

I went with the Blackberry Lemonade fresh blackberries, house-made lemonade, Ketel One Citron vodka.

44605112711_c91aa67509.jpg

And I want to say Erin with a Mai Tai or some sort of rum drink, which once again went to Brittany to finish.
While we waited for our meals Kiss enjoyed being seated by the kitchen since it was out in the open and he's a cook at a restaurant so it captivated him. I suggested he should move down to FL and work at California Grill. Ya know, just a suggestion.
Finally our meals came out.
Erin and Kiss went with the Cowboy-cut 19-oz Rib-eye Steak - honey-saffron glazed carrots, aged gouda mac & cheese, triple garlic butter

44554664822_d5706919cc.jpg

29666602147_eb632e2e9f.jpg

Honestly that mac and cheese was the reason I wanted to get that dish but I went with the Oak-fired Filet of Beef - beef fat potatoes, romano beans, grilled sweet onion, tomato, tamarind BBQ sauce and it was amazing!

44554675102_39e6f347ea.jpg

And Brittany went with sushi, what kind that I don’t know.

42794235690_b68e8b403d.jpg

But what I do know is that after one bite she knew it wasn’t what she ordered. She asked the waitress if it was the right roll and she said it was. Brittany didn’t believe her, and sat there because she didn’t want to eat when she didn’t know what was in it.
Our waitress ended up coming back saying it wasn’t the right roll, someone made a special order and Brittany was given it. She apologized and then went on a long spiel how she got called into work today and she hasn't had a day off in a long time. Her excuses weren’t working on our group and the slow service we were getting that night. Honestly I was upset that I raved about this place to both Kiss and Brittany and this was their first impression.
The food itself did make up for it however!
Then it was finally dessert time.
Brittany and I got the churros

29666602927_baf08195fd.jpg

Kiss went with the creme brûlée with strawberries and salami…not really salami but thats the first that came out of my mouth. It was actually rhubarb and I ate them all for him cause I love rhubarb.

43885888824_4ffd8ea952.jpg

Erin got the chocolate cake that she fell in love with the last time. However her love for it wasn't enough because it sat in front of her for a good 10 minutes while she sat and played on her phone. The rest of us were all enjoying our dessert when our waitress came over and asked how everything was. Erin the only who didn't eat anything was the only one who responded with… “very good, very good” as she quickly put her phone down and did a little bow movement. I lost it, for some reason I thought it was the funniest thing. And it wasn’t even that funny, but I couldn’t stop laughing and next thing I know I was crying.
So overall the meal was very good, very good. However although we had one of the first reservations and planned to go to MK for a bit, the service was that slow and we didn’t have time to get to the park before we had to come back to the fireworks. So we decided just to walk around the resort.

Becoming Best Friends With Peter Pan!

Before we officially left California Grill we decided to go check out the balcony. The front section was blocked off so we could only go on the back one, which doesn’t have that great background for photos. But we did what we could.

It didn't take long before Kiss decided he was over taking photos for us. So with that we just started walking and found ourselves over on BLT property.
Thats when Brittany decided to go back to our old YOLO ways, not like we have changed that much. However I don’t find myself sitting on random porches but tonight was different.
Flashback to Spring Break 2013….

9366423568_b8fcd08c9f.jpg

fast forward to present time, summer 2018 when Brittany dragged me into it

30734007438_436b105105.jpg

As we quickly ran to sit down, Kiss snapped a photo and next thing I knew he was telling us to run. And we ran! but not to far, just far enough to leave the scene.
Next thing I knew Kiss and I were having a ping pong match, which only lasted a solid 2 minutes at most. Cause who actually enjoys chasing after the ping pong ball when it goes flying off the table? Not me.
Before we headed back to the contemporary grounds I called Alish too see if she would be joining us for fireworks. Justin was sleeping and she had nothing better to do so we waited outside for her to drive over. Good thing she is only 5 minutes away.
We found ourselves just chilling in the grass like we were on the hub grass. Erin made herself comfortable and straight up laying in that not so nice florida grass.

44736038792_5afeaa3011.jpg

At this point Alish found us, Brittany was on the phone with her grandma and I was on the phone with mine. We were all just doing our own thing, when we saw a familiar face come skipping by. This lost boy made his way to Erin who was still laying in the grass just scrolling on her phone.
Brittany had her back turned so when she saw Peter Pan she freaked out and thought it was just some random person. Erin and Peter had a nice chat before we made our way over to her.
He hung out for a good amount of time with his character attendant watching from afar.
He asked us what we did today any adventures. Then he told us we could always adventure into bay lake and swim. I’m sorry Peter but I don’t think swimming in the amoeba water is the greatest idea. Also alligators?! But don’t worry crocodiles like Tik Tok are nice, he is only mean to captain hook. Apparently Tok Tik is the crocodile you need to watch out for.
Once getting back to Alligators Peter asked us if we knew reggie the gator. Alish said she did and he looked at her almost confused. But apparently Reggie is a character performer manager so Alish did know the gator.
Soon Peter had to go head off to the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage. So we took a quick group photo and selfie before he was off on his way.

42794244780_ef32698b5a.jpg

And after that nice surprise we headed back up to California grill to get ready for some fireworks. The line was already forming for those guests who ate at CG prior that night who wanted to head up for the fireworks. Before we were allowed up they took those whose tables were ready for them.
Before getting on the elevator the ask you too have your check to prove that you ate their that night. However I was the only one asked what the date was that was on my check. I was at a loss for that question, first I wasn’t expecting it, second if you ask me a question when I’m not paying attention I will 99.9% answer with a what?! third I’m on vacation your lucky if I know what day it is let alone the date.
Everything worked out, and we got some prime spots. As we waited for the fireworks to start the topic of the magic memories and you was brought up. And Alish and I were determined to figure out how that song went. But every time we started to see what we thought was it it turned into the tune of celebrate the magic. Brittany took it upon herself to walk away from the group, pull it up on youtube to get the melody in her head. We ended up figuring it out and we were very proud of ourselves. But every nice thing is ruined when you put us all together because next thing I know Brittany is taking every beautiful disney song and whisper screaming ego styling every song. We’re just a group of classy people.
Casual Alish photobombs

Finally Once Upon A Time started. A girl behind us was on her dads shoulders singing on the top of her lungs to Moana and I strive to have a child like that one day.

44066154494_94be84ccca.jpg

After the fireworks Brittany headed home and Alish suggested Twisty Treats!
TWISTIE TREATS!!! The famous ice cream place you go to when you live in central florida. And it has been FOREVER since I have been there. We all jumped into Alish’s car and took Erin and Kiss to their first ever twistie treats experience.
Bless this place for having the best soft serve ice cream aka Blue Goo!

29666606457_f5cb1895fe.jpg

The only downfall is that soft serve ice cream and the florida heat don't mix. You better be able to eat fast! However this stop was a 10 out of 10 and made this trip even that much better.
After our late night ice cream break Alish dropped us off at our resort and we called it a night.
Tomorrow was filled with more new Disney Experiences and I couldn’t wait!

RIP Alien Encounter

We finally hit the middle of our vacation and we celebrated by sleeping in. Today we were headed to Epcot basically all day so we we weren’t in such a rush to get there. We headed off to the bus stop around 9. And where our building was we would take the walkway on the side of the the main building and past the luggage check. So basically we could see the busses at the bus stop and would have to run to catch them. Thats what happened today. We saw the Epcot bus with the bus driver standing outside, we were fine…until we were still too far away when he decided to get back onto the bus. We all started doing that famous bus jog when you don’t really want to run but you try to put effort into catching it. And thank goodness for that lovely CM who waited for us!
On our way to Epcot all I could here was Erin laughing at herself while she did something on her phone. When showing me her finished product I couldn’t help but laugh.

Once arriving to Epcot we headed to mission space, while this is Kiss’s favorite ride we headed there first to waste some time before we could head to the world showcase.

When its already a rough morning trying to run the space station

43958357595_9e120219a5.jpg

This trip to Mars was different for us, we got a single rider to join our mission and he was the cutest thing. He was quiet and kept to himself for the preshow, which makes since when you're basically stuck with strangers. However once we started the mission to mars he decided to join in on our basic shenanigans.
If you have been on Mission Space you know how they blast the AC on you and you basically freeze to death. Well there is a fake button that says AC and this little nugget kept saying he wished it worked. Then at the end he pretty much wanted to kill all of us. When we were told “Don’t move a muscle” there he was shaking and flailing in his seat. Now I mean we have all been there and done that and he thought it was the funniest thing. Then before we left to meet up with his family he thanked us for letting him join and told us to have a great day.
Then it was time for us to head back to the showcase. The main reason for the hike back there was to get a snack at the french bakery.

44869287421_2ce5127cd6.jpg

It wasn’t 11 yet meaning the showcase wasn't open. Thankfully the France bakery opens earlier. Once getting there we all got the ham and cheese croissant. It’s one of my favorite snacks to get here because it can basically be a meal in itself.

When the showcase opened we decided to walk the whole thing just to ride the Gran Fiesta Tour. However the best time to walk the showcase is right when it opens because it is completely dead.

29932426327_e3690c3ea2.jpg

And throughout this whole ride Kiss and I learned that Erin is our Donald. We are always losing her.
Then it was the time we were all looking forward too. Maybe we weren’t looking forward too walking all the way back to the entrance but we were excited to try something new at Disney. And that new thing would be the Seas Aqua Tour!
But first we had to stop and get a photo pass photo.

Seas Aqua Tour

For the longest time my father always talked about doing the tours but for some reason we never looked into them. So in the early planning stages we decided to try new things and I threw out the idea of doing a tour, more importantly the “hey do you want to snorkel in Epcot” tour. Years back Brittany and I almost did it so I always knew one day I would have to see what it was all about.
This was my first time booking a tour and I personally don’t like how it doesn’t go through the my disney experience. The CM was super nice, told me everything I needed to bring, what was provided and then gave me a conformation code. So if you ever book a tour write that code somewhere special because thats all you will have to prove you booked a tour. I didn’t even get an email receipt.

44819437722_90b2b83168.jpg

So when I did book this tour I was told to go to the front and be sure I had my AP card and ID because we got a discount being AP holders. We waited in the hottest line at the counter just to be told to wait on the side till a CM came to get us. So side note for us we didn’t need to show our ID or AP card.
We were early so we found some AC in the little gift shop while we waited for a CM too come get us. 15 minutes before the tour started we met up with our main tour guide Mike from cleveland.
29932422247_f11c44d981.jpg

This is the point when I will be going into detail about this tour. So if you plan to do this tour and don’t want it ruined this is where you should stop reading.

Our group met up on the side of guest relations outside of the entrance. The group consisted of the three of us, a mom and 2 young daughters, a just married couple, another couple, and about 4 siblings. Before we did anything Mike walked around, looked us up and down for sizing us for our wet suits, and if we were short we wouldn’t be placed at the top locker, and we gave him our shoe size for our water shoes and flippers.
Then we entered through a CM only door where we became honorary CMs. First thing we did was head behind backstage of the seas. Before we entered the building we were shown the water tanks that filter the aquarium and learned about how well the sea life have it. Mike told us how a truck drops off the food for coral reef and then the same truck drops off the animals food, so they are basically fancy eating here at Disney. And then we were told to come back in our second life as an animal at disney.
After our short talk outside we headed inside. We stopped right inside the doorway where we stopped to talk and what he called commercial time. The money we spent goes to their conservation fund. As we were chatting a CP walked passed and it became another commercial and this time for the DCP. Mike asked if any did, was doing, or thinking about doing the DCP. I was the only one in the group, which then I was asked a few questions but the big one was would I suggest the program to people…absolutely, if I could do it again I would in a heartbeat.
Up next was going inside the pavilion where our first stop was the manatees. The manatees are owned by the state, Disney takes care of them and releases them back into the wild when the state tells them too. We didn’t spend too much time here before we headed over to the tank that we would be swimming in. Since we were around other guests we tried our best to stay in a group. He talked about all the fish in the tank and how we were not allowed to touch any. It’s illegal. However if they touch you thats a different story. Before we headed back backstage he pointed out where to swim and how we were not allowed anywhere near the dolphin tank. But once we got up there we would be able to see our boundaries.
With that we headed back through another CM door, down some stairs, down some hallways where we got to a room with benches. We all took a seat and had to fill out our waivers. Here we also were giving the demonstration of the equipment we would be using. Quick and easy. Finally it was the part we were all looking forward too. But first we had to suit up!
We were taking to the dressing rooms. There we found a locker with our names on it. Remember that time mike told us if you’re short you wont be put on the top. Well there I was top row. Cute.

44004360815_e22898ee68.jpg

In our lockers we had our wetsuit, water shoes, a drawstring bag as a souvenir and a towel for after our swimming adventure.

44197277904_a6563016ef.jpg

There were about 6 stalls that had a little changing area and shower. So we changed into our bathing suits and then into our wetsuits. Made sure every piece of jewel was off(this was the worst for me because all though I don't realize it I constantly play with my rings and when they aren't on I freak out that I lost them) and then we grabbed our key, gave it to Mike and waited for everyone.

29980996297_c22fe0fcb1.jpg

When everyone was ready we were all lined up against the wall and were told once getting to the tank to sit in the order we were standing in on the stairs leading into the water.
But before we got to the tank we headed back out into the pavilion where guests watched us as we paraded into the big circle room of the aquarium. There we entered through a door in the middle of the room and headed up a spiral staircase. And it was like I was in the episode of Boy Meets World when they go to Disney and Corey in feeding the dolphins.
Before we got into the water we met the two CM who would be in the water with us Wes and I forgot the other CMs name. They gave us the low down of the tanks we were be wearing. While we were snorkeling we were wearing the normal snorkel. We had the full scuba tank and mouth piece, the only thing different was that our tanks were connected to a life vest which kept us on top of the water. So the two main things were 1) no trying to dive under the water and 2) when your tank hit 500 go back to get a new tank.
Then we got waist deep in water on the ledge, put on our flippers, they helped us strap on our tanks, and they sprayed our goggles so they wouldn’t get foggy. Then with one quick group photo we were free to swim for a solid 40ish minutes.
This was amazing! I loved every minute of it. Even when a school of fish came swimming at me.
to amount of kids excited to see us, random guests taking photos and waving to us, seeing guests eating in the coral reef. It was pretty crazy.
The area where you swim seems a lot bigger when your inside the pavilion than when you’re actually in the water. But with all the sea life it keeps you entertained. Then there was a solid 2 times when I saved one of the young girls flippers when she kicked right out of them.
In the 40 minute free swim I didn’t hit 500 so I didn’t have to swim back to get tank. However by the end the mouth piece scrapped and jabbed my gums enough for me to be over swimming.
They called everyone in and when I tried to swim to the ledge the turtle came out of no where and swam right under me, I froze cause I had no where to go and I knew I couldn’t touch it. However it swam right under me brushing passed me so that was pretty cool.
While everyone was taking off their equipment I found Kiss but there was no sight of Erin. The area where you swam was a huge area connecting from the platform but there was also a little area you turned down that you couldn’t see from the platform. I told Wes to go yell at Erin since she was swimming in the area you couldn’t see. So he had to swim out and get her, her excuse was she didn’t hear them. But how could you miss the fact that no one was swimming around you?
Once we got out of the water Mike was back with towels. We gathered back as a group and before we left the tank we headed over to see the dolphins. It was a quick visit to learn that they live a great life, they play eat sleep repeat.
Mike then took us outside to let the sun hit us. And the least fun part about this whole tour was the wet sloppy shoes we had to walk around in.
We went back to the locker room for a nice hot shower before our tour ended.

Disney provides shampoo, conditioner, and body wash

44866935322_be6340f4d6.jpg

They also have a wall of mirrors and hairdryers, I didn’t even bother and just threw my hair in a braid

43104730490_1a8033d142.jpg

They had a bin for wetsuits and shoes. So the only thing your left with is your own wet swimsuit, however I brought a zip lock bag with me from home since I knew this would be the case. They do however have a spinner to somewhat dry your suit. Just try to be the first one done because a line can form for this since their was only one.

44866938642_b95b3a6b1c.jpg

43104733580_b5ece834dd.jpg

Then it was back to the waiting for everyone to finish. As we waited we learned that Mike had a aerospace degree and worked on space shuttles at Nasa before coming to work for Disney! He then asked everyone what their plans were. Some were heading to dinner, we ourselves had fps and I planned them accordingly.
With everyone back as one big group we headed back to the classroom room where we found our photo and a pin waiting for us

44004371185_76a2be3742.jpg

And that was the end of the tour. Normally I guess at the point they scan your magic band or ticket and let you into the sea pavilion. We weren’t scanned in, he just walked us to the door, thanked us and we were back in the pavilion surrounded by the tank we were just swimming in.

We made our way over to the Land pavilion to take a quick trip around the world. But before we did that and even before we entered the pavilion I told Kiss and Erin how both murals are completely the same except one little tile, known as the Maleficent tile because of it being green.
It would have taken all day or even longer if I had them search both murals, so I gave them 2 hints 1) its on the right mural and 2) its close to “the land” sign.

31143330598_8d326c0e26.jpg

43204455480_a9ec7e6fc9.jpg

31143330498_376d049649.jpg

And once we made it to the greenhouse the sky opened and it was pouring good. You could hear it hitting the roof and some parts were leaking through. So maybe we made the right choice since now everyone outside would be running for shelter making there be a wait for the land.
With the storm still passing we were off to fly around the world before we decided to walk around the world

45015700391_2bdf6a9f5f.jpg

Then it was off to the showcase for dinner. And tonights dinner was Kiss’s pick.
Welcome to the biergarten!

31143325138_96119dde5d.jpg

To think I use to never want to eat here because I didn’t think I would like any german food. Thank goodness that changed the first time I came here and now on my 3rd visit I love it every time.
If you are not aware if you don’t have a big party dining here you will automatically be seated with another party. And while I am honestly not an out going people person this never once effected my meal here. Tonight we were seated with a nice family, parents and a birthday boy who was probably in his young teens. Overall you could just tell he wasn’t all that thrilled about being there.
Before we hit up the buffet we ordered our drinks. Sad news when you can’t get the liter of beer on the dining plan although I guess it makes sense. Because of this Kiss opted to just buy the liter out of pocket because that was his main reason for coming here.
So heres to a liter of the Warsteiner Dunkel, which he said 8 out of 10.

44104636295_2e343692cf.jpg

But the grapefruit beer is where is it at and thanks to Erin’s not a fan of beer and Brittany not being here I took her beer, which then turned into a liter of beer for me by the end of the meal.

45015700121_0d83e93912.jpg

When I normally just talk about my native blood, tonight was all about my German blood and I was ready to eat.

44104635785_48fa493a4b.jpg

But before we get into food lets just all look at the difference in size

44104635755_3ba4dbda88.jpg

The biergarten has a lot of options when it comes to food. So you're plate can look like a crazy mess because you want to sample basically everything.
So heres me trying to figure out what I actually got while looking at the plate I got
roll, noodle salad, regular salad, Spaetzle, Schnitzel, baked mac and cheese, potato dumpling, potato, sausage, and green beans, I also know that I got the potato leek soup on the side.

45015695751_48f728d859.jpg

When it comes to buffets I make sure to do one plate food and then one plate dessert and if I’m still hungry I will repeat food, then dessert.
So then we were at the dessert time and the apple strudel is always a good options but personally for me I love the Bavarian Cheese Cake.

44296553324_0656d5404f.jpg

On top of all the great food you also enjoy the live entertainment as you indulge yourself into a food coma.

44296553374_d8acc34c10.jpg

By the end of the meal our waitress reminded Kiss that he still had half a liter credit of beer for free that came with the dining plan. So why not stop at one liter and keep the beers flowing. So he got another half liter, because why would you waste free beer?, took a sip and asked for a to go cup. And with that we were off back into the heat of the world showcase.

Wow it looks like I missed three updates.

First, how nice is an empty World Showcase. EPCOT is my favorite park so I would adore this.

Your tour Aqua Tour was amazing. I didn't realize there was such a thing. Great Experience.

I've never dined at Biergarten but it looks like lots of fun. I have however done the chicken dance there a couple of times. :rotfl:

When I normally just talk about my native blood, tonight was all about my German blood and I was ready to eat.

But before we get into food lets just all look at the difference in size

The biergarten has a lot of options when it comes to food. So you're plate can look like a crazy mess because you want to sample basically everything.
So heres me trying to figure out what I actually got while looking at the plate I got
roll, noodle salad, regular salad, Spaetzle, Schnitzel, baked mac and cheese, potato dumpling, potato, sausage, and green beans, I also know that I got the potato leek soup on the side.

When it comes to buffets I make sure to do one plate food and then one plate dessert and if I’m still hungry I will repeat food, then dessert.
So then we were at the dessert time and the apple strudel is always a good options but personally for me I love the Bavarian Cheese Cake.

On top of all the great food you also enjoy the live entertainment as you indulge yourself into a food coma.

"and honestly I was pretty sure I was going to be the next one with it that night."

:rotfl2:So happy for the report - love your attitudes and the pictures! The shoes at Disney Studios are just plain nice! So happy to read the tank adventure too - was wondering about it. Anyway, happy to see the tale and in for the long haul!
