I’m here! Thank you for hosting this month!

Another beautiful day in PA, already took my walk-I like going before lunch, if possible, because it seems to keep me on track for the rest of the day.

I have my weekly WW weigh in tomorrow, so will be making my goals when I know where I am.

Happy Monday all. Its raining here in Rhode Island but im sitting at my desk trying to make the best of it...

Weighted in yesterday and I'm down 56lbs since July 11th! Woot Woot lol. Trying to drop another 10 this month and I've added strength training into my routine. Hopefully I can keep up with it as the Cardio has gotten a little to easy.

Lets have a good week everybody and hit those goals!

Wow! That’s great work!
Strength training is also on my list!

Topic Tuesday

One important aspect of healthy living is the mind. Stress can be a big factor for weight gain and other unhealthy effects, so reducing stress is always good. Often we cannot change the outside circumstances, but we can try to make them less stressful and we can work on dealing better with them.

Do you think stress is a factor for you and do you have some strategies on how to make your life less stressful?

Used to cope with stress by having a cigarette. Quit those yesterday so this is going to be all new territory for me. Looking forward to reading some of your answers on how you guys deal. Happy Tuesday everyone!

When I’m stressed I tend to eat out more or just grab the wrong thing. Exercise seems like a chore rather than a pleasure.
I try keeping food I like in the house that’s easy to fix. And I don’t have food in the house that’s a “trigger” for overeating. If we go out I find a place where I can have a nice meal that isn’t high in calories or fat. I love steamed shrimp and crab legs-add a salad and not too much damage. Can even have a lite beer! Or a roll.

I think we need to be mindful but cut ourselves some slack-just not let a couple bad days turn into a couple weeks.

Mike, good for you! Both my parents quit smoking in their forties and both of them said they were so glad they did!

Hopefully I can stick too it... Already feel better and its only been a day and a half. This and weight loss will be a challenge though.

I am in. I will try to stop in each night this week while at the conference. I have made it to New Mexico. I did ok on the flights. The first flight I almost had tears several time because my anxiety was so high and I think because I missed my family already. Second flight I did better though we had a rougher landing because of the weather. A storm was moving in.

So I deal with stress in a few ways. It depends on what the stress is. Lately with work being so crazy I have been eating candy almost everyday. I am have also been very lazy. I have just been so mentally drained I am just done by the time I get home. If I have mild stress just watching tv helps. And major stress like today I just don't eat. I had toast this morning at 7 and then nothing until just a little bit ago at about 5. I was too afraid of being sick between the stress and the flight. I do try to walk instead of these. It does help to walk too.

I hope you are feeling better now that you have arrived. You have the flight behind you-I bet that’s a relief!

Have a few minutes to check in...

... stress, well, I eat my stress. I thought I had moved past this, but the past few weeks have pushed me right back in to the hole. I know going for a walk would do more for me than chewing on candy, but I chose the candy any way.

My woohoo for today is, hey, I'm still here. As difficult as it's been to get this project off the ground, actually going live with it has been almost anti-climactic and things went very smoothly. I was actually able to sleep last night. Today is my last full day on-site, I fly home mid-day tomorrow. Friday I'll be in the office, to get caught up with other things, and then Sat/Sun I'm going to put down my phone and unplug. Last Saturday I was tethered to my phone because of last minute testing we were doing, which meant I couldn't get out of the house so all I could do was household chores, the the house will be nice and sparkly when I get home. And I'll have no guilt getting out for some good long walks and just kicking back. I may drive out to my favorite yarn store, just for a drive in the country, and go for a walk in one of the parks out that way. We've had such a dry summer that the trees are changing colors early and there was some pretty stuff going on when I left town

As of yesterday, I am 5lbs below my WW goal weight-so going to try to maintain that for the next couple weeks. It was absolutely beautiful today, so I added another 10 minutes to my daily walk. Have to enjoy this weather while it lasts. Those are my Wednesday woo-hoos!

Hope everyone is having a good day-

I read this as "I was absolutely beautiful today" - I hope that's how you feel after reaching this goal!

I am feeling better know that I am here. I know what to expect on my way back, though I am still not liking the flight. The take off and the touch down are the worst. But in the air, as long as there isn't really a lot of turbulence, I was fine. The TSA guy was surprised that this was the first time I have really flown. He said I did better then people that go through TSA more often. I did a bunch of reading and asked many questions to my friends that do a lot of flying.

I am also doing pretty good on my own. I am getting bored and missing my family but handling it well. I am bummed that I am missed DD's soccer game tonight but she plays Saturday again and I will be there even if I completely exhausted from the trip home.

The sun setting and the time change has thrown me though. It is 6:30pm here and it is almost dark. Plus I am 2 hours behind my normal time. I am ready to go to bed already. I am shocked at how soon the sun sets here. It is on the same time as at home.

Other then all of this being my woohoo I am also woohoo that I voluntarily answered a question in a one of the groups today. Huge deal as I do not like talking in front of people.

Great to hear things are going well!
