Hello my DD just got accepted to the program for Spring-August 2019. My question is can you take a vacation during the program? We have a 2 week Europe trip planned in May. She just got accepted and has a week to respond but their is no phone number to ask questions. Once she responds the deposit money is due. Has anyone been able to get vacation time during the program? Does anyone have a good contact to ask? Thanks

Did she mention this trip during her interview? The chance of a CP getting two weeks off approved during their program is slim.

The way time off works at WDW is that full time cast members put in a "vacation bid" for the next year towards the end of the current year (we're doing this for 2019 right now). Their requests are approved in seniority order. After that's done, then requests open up to first-come-first-served status for everyone. This would likely be done before her program actually begins and she gets access to the Hub in order to put in requests, so part-timers and current CPs who are extending into the spring term would have access to time off before she would.

Additionally, CPs are restricted from giving shifts away via the Hub, although some managers will approve it if the CP has a good reason. Whether your daughter's leadership team would do it for a family vacation or not isn't something anyone can say. It's important to note she would still owe rent for her housing for those two weeks where she wouldn't be getting much or any pay.

You can try to Google for the phone number for WDW Casting - I know there is one somewhere, although I'm not certain if there's a College Program-specific number.

Thanks for the info. I will let her know... it's not looking good though.

I would be shocked. DD went knowing there would be no vacations. I believe on their website it says you can request up to five days in a row for “graduation ceremony, wedding or family reunion” but I imagine that doesn’t mean it will for sure be approved and doesn’t help your situation.

DD was able to get 4 days off in a row twice but worked heavy hours before and after as if they were just two weeks days off put together. And this was over a years time.

Christmas they let her have off Christmas Eve only. She drove home Christmas Eve 7 hours, spent night then drove back Christmas Day to work that night.

Hi. I don’t have any advice for the topic sadly. But I just had to give props cause I noticed the Cheat avatar, and it stopped me in my tracks. The system is down!

if she is accepted for spring advantage, it's possible she could change to spring, which may get her done in time for a May trip, but otherwise, yeah if she really wants to do the vacation, she should have waited to apply for fall instead.
