What kind of guest will you be on your next WDW vacation

Hey all! Just came up with a topic my sister and I were discussing about our upcoming NOV trip.

We decided we've spent enough $$ in the past and are becoming somewhat unwilling to buy into the add-ons... between us with other family members too, we've had over 10 WDW vacations since 2000

WE are Not getting Fast Passes. Since it's NOV and earlier park closings we will plan ONE park a day events.
WE are NOT paying extra for the MNSSHP, been there did that (2000) and it's only us two....
WE are NOT buying any Dessert Parties or Firework Parties. We've always seen the Fireworks and thought they were spectacular. Yes, it'd be nice to sit but I simply can't justify the cost in my brain.
WE are NOT staying at a Deluxe resort anymore. Again, compared to days gone by, I can't justify the cost anymore (unless there's a discount and it's not prime time). Unfortunately for us, NO discounts for our dates.

The hardest one will be limiting our sit sown dining to 3 ( we're foodies) KONA, Teppan Edo and Hollywood Brown Derby. IF and only IF we luck out we're try BOG also.

Despite all this, I can't wait to return. It's been awhile!!

We will be doing things pretty much the same. We go every couple years.

First and foremost, we will be at the parks with AM EMH. We will get there before rope drop (we did this last time for the first time and it was great), ride as many rides as we can for a few hours, then hop to another park where we will begin using our FPs.
Our trip before last, we decided to save the money and not get hoppers, but we love them, so those are a must from now on.
We wouldn't pay full for the dining plan, but we just booked play, stay, dine and we think it's worth it. We figure if we ate mostly QS with 3 TS mixed in, we could save around $500. But for 5 people for 7 days, we decided it's worth that little bit extra to have a sit down meal every day (not to mention the snack credits and refillable mugs which we'd get anyway).
We are going in January so it could be cold, but if we can swim, we will make a point to spend some time at the pools. Have built in a few hours in the middle of the week a couple days for this, as well as arrival day. When we were there in Feb of 2016, the pools were open until 11, so we swam for an hour every night. Shame they close earlier now.

As for a couple different things:
We are staying at CBR for the first time, and our first mod stay. Have done CR a couple times and love it, but feel it's not worth it for us. One CBR room was cheaper than 2 values with PSD, so we are excited about staying somewhere different. A little worried about the size of the resort, and 5 of us being in one room, but figure we won't be in the room that often anyway.
Booked HDDR. I went as a kid, don't really remember it. Have thought about it on the last couple trips, but didn't want to take the time away from the parks. Figure its time to just do it. Decided on the 4 show. It's a little early for dinner, but that way we can sleep in, go to HS for our FPs, then to HDDR, then MK after for PM EMH.
Dessert party is kinda on the table. I think it'd be fun, but at the cost for 5 people it seems kinda silly. But at the same time it'd be a nice treat. If we would we'd do Star Wars, since my nephew loves it. I doubt it though.

We are a well-planned, but basic kind of family.
We are staying onsite (Pop and then Swolphin on points) with park hoppers. The hoppers are my luxury item, but I got a good deal on them.
No table service planned. We'll do quick serve and bring snacks with us to the park. I think breakfast is included at the Swolphin (DH is platinum), but we might upgrade from cold to hot breakfast at least a few days.
We'll take advantage of rope drop and EMH, but no paid extras like EMM or dessert parties.
No tours or VIP type events planned.

Unlike many here, we don't go to Disney often. Partly because DH hates it, partly because it's expensive, and partly because there are so many other places we like to go. So there is still SOOOO much to see, and we won't be bored by the basics. I've got good fast passes booked, and I think a solid plan with some flexibility built in. I don't feel like we need paid extras to have a good trip.

We try to save the most money when it comes to food. One character meal and one TS. Everything else QS and the second part for next time is rein in the souvenirs. I sometimes go over board especially with Minnie ears and pins and toys for the kid and bubbles, etc. I’m gonna actually try to set a daily budget this year which I haven’t done before so I don’t find myself regreting some choices after that Disney bubble pops.

I pre-buy our Disney things at a discount. Already snagged two POTC t-shirts at a thrift store. NWT BB8 hat for $4 at Goodwill, and matching lanyard on clearance at Target. Found ODS's ears from last trip. DD wanted a Minnie/Mickey birthday, so I have basic ear headbands that we will personalize before going. The kids don't know about the Disney gear, so I will wrap it before we go, and they will pack the mystery items in their suitcases. Dollar store will have glow sticks for evenings. I did Minion, Harry Potter, and Jurassic World shirts for last year's trip to Universal, and they were a hit.

You can also give each child a Disney gift card. The kids can spend it on whatever they want - snacks, toys, shirts, whatever. But once it's gone, it's gone.

We have a short 3.5 day trip in March.

We won't be doing PPO breakfast at Garden Grill like we usually do. In fact we are skipping Epcot all together which feels crazy to me!
We are seeing Fantasmic! for the first time since 2015.
Doing the rhino tour in AK and we are very excited about it.
Only have 2 ADRs and the rest will be quick service.

We pretty much already do that. And have done it for a couple of years.

Although we have had annual passes for our last few trips. And since we own at DVC, we don't have to justify the cost.

No parties, dessert or otherwise. One table service meal per trip and that is breakfast on our departure day.

Now, our next trip will be different. We will be celebrating our son's college graduation and it will be a true celebration.

Since we can't go until 2021 most likely, we will be Disney's dream guests.

We are saving for the Boardwalk Inn with a Boardwalk view. 9 nights. Hoppers. Any ticketed extra magic nights/morning at the parks we plan to buy one for each park! No dining plan, but will still do a sit down every night on property.
If at that point extra fast passes are for sale, we will grab a couple for any rides we can't book with our regular 3 or want to do twice.
No dessert parties, we don't care for those.
We will be going hopefully during flower/garden, so may purchase extras for that - unsure what is offered.

And who knows what else will be offered at that time.

Save, save, save!!! :rotfl:

We will have park hopper in April but...
We don't be doing any dessert parties or add-ons.
I will be going to the grocery and we will be eating many meals in the room (which has a full kitchen thanks to DVC points)
We will make one ADR, for 'Ohana on get away day.
We will still take a stroller but not because our youngest needs it but because it's great to carry the cooler full of drinks purchased during the aforementioned grocery trip. $4.50 for a 20 ounce bottled drink is ludicrous.
I will buy a plush, DS7 will get a hat, DW will eat cupcakes and DS16 will buy some anime stuff at mitsukoshi but we won't be the guests they love for dropping the big bucks.

We'll be buying a big pack of water and some snacks at Walmart for the second part of our trip where we will not be on the dining plan! I also think I'll be drinking a lot of free iced water rather then soda!

But other then that, far more relaxed, fastpasses aside, no more rushing to meals.

We are splurging since it will be our 15 yr anniversary and my 40th. Staying Poly which has been on my bucket list, getting not just Park hoppers but splurging on the water park pass too which is out of character for us, might do a day at Universal or SeaWorld, still not sure about dining plan yet because it is sometimes and inconvenience for our trip but still booking Table Services regardless.

It’s our first trip. I’d like to make as many nice memories for my 9 year old as I can. It took me almost 47 years to get my first trip in, so i don’t know when we’ll be back.

Because of what we read on here concerning people hitting you with wheel chairs, strollers and electric scooters, my wife’s two biggest concerns are:

1.) I don’t end up on the news.
2.) I don’t end up in jail.

Completely understandable. Make it special for your daughter!!

As far as the WC, scooters, strollers...…….just try to steer clear. I've been on the other side pushing my mom in a WC for many years. The abrupt STOP of a group of people was the worst... LOL, we survived.

My sister and I are headed in November! We are so excited to hit up the end of the Food and Wine Festival!

We are going ADULT only ... Which is almost the most exciting part of the trip!
We are also limiting our sit sown dining to 3 (we will be doing a lot of booths for Food and Wine) 'Ohana, Teppan Edo and The Plaza
We are NOT staying on property this time because we would rather add on a few extras and save some money by using points for our hotel!
We are doing Early Morning Magic AND a Dessert Party to get the most out of our short trip!

We are so excited that it is almost here!
