SURVIVOR 37...and NOW Survivor 38 (no spoilers)

I forgot it was on and we had theatre tickets for tonight- I will have to catch up on demand tomorrow!

I was excited at first when they did a comp on the boat. I thought that was a neat way to start. But then...blah. The guy who left due to injury immediately after the first IC. Very anticlimactic. And surprised they didn't still make them go to TC (is that a first?). Plus I wanted that one guy to go...won't say in case folks haven't watched yet. But he seems shady to me.

Liking the "blerd" and the robot science nerd. Liking the showmance on Goliath...they do seem like a good match. Surprised he was open about being a cop. Most cops on this show keep it on the down-low.

This had to be the first time, that I did not realize that it started for the Season. I wish The Amazing Race would start. Speaking of the Amazing Race, did someone say that the older gentlemen was on The Amazing Race?

Yes they did say he was on Amazing Race

I had no idea this was starting. I will have to read the recap. Thanks for the heads-up!

Watching!

I'll never understand how players who claim to know the game so well make such rookie mistakes...running off to find an idol, barking out instructions at their tribe-mates, not lifting a finger around camp, or starting a relationship with another player, to name a few!

It happens every season, and never ends well...I don't get it.

I had no intention of following this year. To me, they aren't as interesting as the first few seasons. I am older (65) and it seems that now all the contestants are under 30. But, this season is different and I got sucked in. I am going to have to cheer for the nerds/David Tribe.

I already have people I can't stand- the woman on Goliath that was looking over at the David team when they first boarded the boat saying things about them- and the black woman with the freaky freaky stare. Wasn't crazy about the guy that went home either!

I think this is going to be an interesting season! I'm definitely rooting for the David tribe at this point.

I think it proves that you can't shut off who you really are, no matter how much you'd like.

I screamed, "Ned Shneebley!" when I saw Mike on the Goliath team. How great is it to be in a job that you can take off time to do things you want, like go on Amazing Race or Survivor?

The chick on the Goliath tribe - Angelina?? - instantly hated her. What a beeotch.

Love the David tribe...the poor guy who went home - man, he was their muscle!

Another big thing that they should know is how to swim.

Sorry that the player got hurt. He seemed to be one of the stronger guys on the tribe.

Unfortunately, I don't see the David team winning many challenges that require brute strength.

Looks like lots of fireworks in the next episode.

I watched last night after not having watched since like, season 5 or something! We're talking YEARS ago. Was trying to figure out how they determined Davids vs. Goliaths, I missed the first ten min or so, came in as the first challenge was beginning that involved the David team choosing who did which challenge, ending with the slide puzzle. So far a bigger fan of the Davids team than the other...although I like the school of rock actor/writer from the Goliath team (here's where the confusion over teams comes in for me...how is he a "goliath"?? because he was on the amazing race and can compete??)

I said the same thing last night!!! If I was on the show, in the first few days, I would work my butt off and try to fly under the radar and not cause any drama!

We did too!!!! My kids were huge fans of "School of Rock", so we saw that movie multiple times!! We recognized him right away last night!

We too are rooting for the David team right now!

Looking forward to next week!

The show pre determined the teams/tribes. Probst talked about the whole David vs Goliath theme (which he described more of a those of a hard knocks background who've had to work hard for what they have VS those of a more privileged fortunate background). Therefore, Mike is a Goliath because he's a very successful writer/producer/actor (maybe came from a family with means and went to a good college???). The David's chose the 2 strongest Goliaths while the Goliaths chose the 2 weakest Davids. Then the Davids chose which tasks each pair had to complete. They chose the puzzles because the 'Big Bang Theory' guy is a slide puzzle pro/designer himself.

Ah, THIS is what I didn't understand - what each team designation was based on. Thank you!

This is the part where I came in, when the puzzle designer picked the tasks for each pair to complete.
