December 2018 Check-in Thread

Going with my Mom Dec 4th to 6th. We're staying at grand Californian it will be her first time at that hotel. She's so excited to have the entrance into the park that will be our first pic hahaha looking forward to Christmas decorations and being with Mom.

Hi you can add us. We are booked for Dec 7-9 at Sheraton Garden Grove Anaheim South. Will be doing LEGOland with my son on Friday and then DLR Saturday and Sunday. Saturday we will be tagging along with band kids for their annual trip. Looking forward to another DL trip. It will have been two years since we have been. I went on a non-kid quick trip to WDW in Aug 2017 so I am due for a Disney fix. Grew up in So Cal, so I’ve been to DLR more times than I can count and WDW 3 times. Junky? Maybe.

We're local now and go almost weekly but I am super excited for December as we have a couple nights at the DLH to celebrate DD's 20th birthday! We will be there Dec 18-20.

Are these available somewhere still?
Sorry Karen. It's a deal only available to Australian and New Zealand citizens through travel agents. We have to show our passports when we pick up our tickets on our first day. I'd say it's to encourage us to visit Disneyland even though the AUD to USD is not in our favour.

My wife and I will be doing a Disney Coast to Coast in December! We had this crazy idea a while back and booked our room at WDW and waitlisted for the Grand Californian (we're DVC). We didn't really expect the waitlist at GC to come though but it did! So it's Coast to Coast and back to back! We'll be checking out the decorations in both parks this year.

Disney World at Saratoga Springs - Dec 3-10
Disneyland at Grand Californian - Dec 10-14

DVC points spent, plane booked, tickets bought!

We're eyeing the Disneyland Express bus but land on the 10th just after 6. The last bus in at 7 so we're debating if this is the way to go. Could do the Supershuttle.

I just love it when my waitlists come through, especially for this time of the year. Your trip sounds amazing. Got you added.

My husband and I will be in Disney Dec 6th and leaving on the 10th. My birthday trip... We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort :love:

IMHO, the best way to celebrate your birthday is to plan a trip to DLR during your day. You will have a great time. Gotcha added.

Hubby agreed to go instead of skipping this year! Woo Hoo! We will be at the Sheraton Park 11/29-12/2....So excited. We have decided to surprise the kids and not tell them until we head to the airport.

Your kids will go wild when they learn where they are going. How exciting. I have added you to the list.

Arrive Nov 30. :drive:Time in DTD for dinner and shopping:tigger:
First day in parks....Dec1 Max Pass every day!:hmghost:
Staying at Anaheim RV Park
Daughter, SIL, GS, GD staying at Candy Cane Inn...same dates

I have down for 11/30 to 12/01. If you wish to change the departure date, please post here and I will change it. Max Pass is the best!

We'll be coming to Disneyland for our first holiday time there. We'll be coming in on November 30th and leaving December 4th and staying at Paradise Pier. Already super excited and counting the days!

~Solomon

You will have a great time and will be awed by the splendore DLR brings to the Holidays. I am excited for you. Got you added to the list.

We just booked our hotel! Going Nov. 30 and Dec. 1st! Cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!

Question for you all, we used to go quite often, but now only once a year. I know the Saturday we are going is CP. We are doing a one park per day ticket. Just cannot justify a PH. Would you do DL on Friday or DL on Saturday? I cannot decide and do not know if DCA will be crazy crowded on Saturday because people are trying to avoid CP. TIA!

IMHO, DCA will still be better then DL on Saturday. If you don't mind the cost, I think Max Pass would be a good investment for getting on the most of the rides. You really can't escape the crowds in either Park, so the Max Pass becomes a great tool and is worth the cost.

I have added you to the list. If you wish for me to add your hotel, post it here and I will add it.

We will be there Fri Dec 28 leaving Jan 01. We have a 4 day Park Hopper (lucky to get a 4 day for the price of 2 deal)
Staying at Anaheim Camelot Inn & Suites.

Hopper passes are the best! You will have a great time. Gotcha added.

Flights booked for December 13-18 to coincide with my son's birthday. Just have to decide on which hotel - might be fun to try something new :) Dollar not great for us Canadians but it's Disney!

Your son will have a great birthday! I mean we are talking Disneyland here. If you wish to add your hotel, post here and I will change it.

We will be there Dec 19-22 and will be staying at Hojos. This is the 2nd year in a row that our school calendar has enough days before Christmas to fit a trip in. We’re super excited and plan on upgrading to Annual Passes while we’re there!

Got to take advantage when the school calendar works out. Been there, done that myself. Gotcha added.

You will LOVE the Grand Californian. It is one of my favorite hotels. Ever. Expect to have a great time You are added to the list.

Junky? NO way. Well if you are a junky, I don't know what that makes all of us here. Fellow junkys? Anyhoo, got you added.

We're local now and go almost weekly but I am super excited for December as we have a couple nights at the DLH to celebrate DD's 20th birthday! We will be there Dec 18-20.

As I mentioned before, birthday celebrations planned with a DLR trip is the best. You are added.

Cozy cone chili
Award wieners dessert

What do you think? Will I get it all done? :D

What are your plans for the park?

@smartlabelprint What's this? What's this? A Dole Whip with Rum? How cool is that? Oh schnap, 'scuse the pun. :tilt: Thanks for the heads-up, I will have to check this out!

Your list is easily doable lol! I loved my solo-days at Disneyland and it's amazing how much faster I could do things alone, even considering how fast DH is when we are together. Between FP and single rider, zoooommmm!!

I’ve never had it! Im looking forward to it.

I think it’s doable too. My sis will be with me. She’s slower. But I think we’re both open to alone time in the parks.

In 2 1/2 days, just you? Yes! I think it's doable.

I will comment on a couple: get to Trader Sam's a little before opening which I believe is 11 am. They have no wait system and it becomes chaotic. Thats a lot of food so I would get like 1 sewer at Bengal. something small at Boardwalk, etc...

Sounds like you have really fun plans!

Thanks! My sibs is with me. We’ll share!

We'll be there Dec 9-13, staying at the Disneyland Hotel. We had so much fun at Christmas last year, we had to book for this year again.

Anyone else going first week of December notice how booked up the hotels are? Couldn't find availability at any of the Disney hotels, Tropicana, or Candy Cane for our dates.

We've already booked Tropicana, so guess were staying with that. Does this mean crowds are going to be crazy?

We started a list like this last trip as we had been 3 times and still hadn’t done so much and it was our first 7 day trip. We got most things done but have added a couple more to it since then. It’s fun trying new things and ticking them off so I hope you get it done, I’m sure you will! :)

Our biggest one is to ride the Golden Zephyr, every time we get there it is down! So whilst everyone else is running to Guardians of the Galaxy or Radiator Springs Racers, we will be rushing to the Golden Zephyr to try and catch it before it goes down

As a previous poster mentions, definitely get to Trader Sams when it opens. It’s much easier and makes sure you don’t miss out. We missed out on one of our trips as we kept getting them early evening and it was just so busy. We’ve gotten there 90 minutes after opening sometimes and it’s already busy. After that you can walk around to the Coffee Shop for your Dole Whip with Rum :drinking1

This will be our third trip going at the beginning of December. 2015 wasn’t so bad but was busier then expected. Second trip was last December and we found it a bit busier then 2015. But in the weekdays and with Maxpass, we easily got everything done including GotG and RSR several times.

We'll be there 1-6, 4 full days and 1 partial. We're planning to get maxpass. Last time I was there was November 3-6, 2016 and it was dead. I know it won't be like that but I think we'll still be able to do everything we want.
