I love credit cards so much!

RMN question, has anyone had success recently with anyone else crediting cash back, other than Walgreens, for GC purchases? I know Kohls doesn't carry Disney GCs (at least mine does not) but has anyone use the $15 off $75 Kohls offer and bought a GC? They have Lowes and we are deep in DIY projects :)
Staples has worked for me with RMN.

(I thought that might have been the first time hubby seriously considered divorce when I told him I picked up a 2nd set from UCT while they still had 2010 discount prices available.) We grabbed another set of PH's with no expiration dates for a future trip long trip when they announced the expiration date change, so we could avoid whatever shenanigans came up after that. So we joked we're covered for WDW for the rest of our lives now, but it might not be a joke

I grabbed a few 10 day non expiry park hoppers as well. My youngest has used part of one as she comes rarely now. She just got a promotion at work and has more vacation time so she might come in November.

I also bought annual pass vouchers. Most were in the low $500 range when I bought them. Best decision I made! Almost wish I'd bought a couple more. But between them and the non expiry, my ticket needs are met. However, my grand kids will start needing tickets soon, and I can hear my daughter already saying 'tickets are so expensive!'.

Ok - I'm back with some Ultimate Rewards & Rental Car questions...(I rent a car once every 2-3 years :drive: sooooo this one isn't my area of expertise :teacher: :scratchin). Here's a few scenarios I'm looking at for our Sea World trip in November, thoughts on if each would work?

1) I currently have an Alamo reservation in my name. I am not an AU on my wife's CSR...can we use her card to pay for the rental or will that get denied due to my name on the reservation (i.e. I need to use a card with my name on it to pay)? I did not add her as an additional driver when I made the reservation initially. I guess if necessary, I could make a new reservation with her as the primary and me listed as additional driver...

2) If I wanted to reserve a rental car using my Wife's UR points on her CSR...can I make the reservation with ME as the driver? OR does it have to be in her name, OR could I add myself as an additional driver there?

Basically - I'm either trying to use our CSR travel credit OR our UR points to pay for this car :car:. Wife has the CSR, I am not an AU, and she will DEFINITELY not be driving us around Orlando...how do I navigate that one?

Thanks friends!! Any thoughts and feedback are welcome.

Disclaimer...I’ve never booked with URs...but always use Alamo...book with my CC and using my Alamo number...get the free driver with Costco...we pick up the car...my husband is driving...at the booth they always have asked for my and my husbands DL and the credit card used to book....last rental was in April

I've never been a Sam's Club member/purchased anything from Sam's. I have the $10 off $50 offer on my SPG Biz. Can someone help me out on what my options are for buying Disney GCs from there?

I wouldn't mess with your Swan reservation if you booked it before the changes took place. YMMV, but maybe going to a local Marriott and buying a gift card would be your best bet and then on checkin at Marriott Village hotel, you could pay with the gift card. Like SFF, it may work, it may not work. You take your chances.
I'm not understanding these hotel gift cards.... what in the world can you use them for,if not to pay for a stay at the hotel chain they're a part of??? I'm getting really confused(and concerned) about this.... I have some Hilton gc's,and I saw the same comments about them...can they be used on a room booking etc.....what are we supposed to use the gc's on if not that? it says Hilton(or Marriott) on the gc, it's their brand! please help me get this.....

Ugh about not booking Disney with cruise and tours! Was going to buy some park tickets through them. Guess I’ll see how it pans out in the next few months since we aren’t going until Feb.

Woke up to some really good RMN deals:
$10 off $25 at Walgreens and CVS

$10 off $20 at Staples, Home Depot, Kohl’s and Macy’s

Also an AMEX offer for $10 off $50 at Sams

I saw those this morning too! So glad to see some good offers this month!

Surely they don't expect us to plan what park, what day before we even buy tickets and then not ever change our minds what park we want to go to or flip flop a pool day with a park day due to rain, etc.
:rotfl2:OT on this thread I know but that is hilarious:rotfl: So far the past few years with MDE etc has been like putting the lobster in a pot of cold water, and turning up the heat slowly so it doesn't even notice what's happening...:rotfl2: I mean we're at the point where they expect people to plan what breakfast they want to eat in 6 months time, what ride you want to ride months in the future(and what time you'll do it) the fingerprinting, the security checks, the intrusive room searches...I could go on but I'll stop here.....let's face it the hoops we're all forced to jump thru at this point are already:sad2: as far as I'm concerned..... ok sorry to rant OT back to the topics at hand.....

Thank you! Added the RMN deals! Too bad I just spent $300 at Walgreen's on Fri to try and max out this quarter's Freedom bonus.

The gift cards will have information on the back that says where they are good. In the case of Marriott, although it is now the company that is managing all these separate brands, the gift cards have not changed (yet) to be good at all the separate brands. The individual brands all come under the Marriott portfolio, but may have different 'rules' so to speak.

With the Marriott gift card that I purchased, I can use it in a Marriott property to pay for a room - some, but not all, the properties that were in the portfolio before they acquired the SPG properties. I can not book or guarantee the room with the gift card, because a gift card is not like a credit card. In future, it may be that Marriott will pull all of this together and put out a new card for all the hotels they manage, but right now they are separate.

The Marriott gift card is useful to me because I can use it in restaurants in some Marriott hotels or I can pay for hotels in areas I've planned already to visit. Before I bought it, I already knew what I could use it for in the next 3-4 months.

There are a few gift cards that I will always buy: gas cards; some restaurant cards such as Panera, Cracker Barrel, Maggianos, Starbucks; Disney gift cards. But rarely do I buy hotel gift cards unless I have a solid plan for their use.

Dolphin's a Sheraton and Swan's a Westin - so they're both excluded from the Marriott/RC cards, from what I can tell.

and THIS is what I'm confused(and concerned) over! How can the company merge, decide they're all marriotts, except they're not? I'm struggling to understand wth this all means (that's heck:rotfl2:)

And this is why we enjoy USO so much more! Stay at Portofino, get early entry and front of the line access on almost every ride. Easy peasy!!! I can't even tell you what I am going to have for dinner tonight so I have no idea how I am going to select restaurants that far out.

Sorry all--I was out of town when these RMN offers started so I missed some of the discussion. I seem to have Walgreens and CVS. They work for gift cards or it's hit or miss?

I know! We said it was an investment in Disney, kinda joking, cuz tickets could only go up. But who knew you really could invest without buying stock
(although bought some of that too eventually and who knew I'd kick myself now for not picking up more at $65/share :faint:)

This summer I rented a car from Alamo through Costco. It was in my name and I used my CSR. When DH and I picked up the car, I told them I should get a free additional driver since I used Costco. The woman told me my SPOUSE would automatically be authorized to drive it AND I could have another free additional driver through Costco.
yes.... I believe this is true of Alamo, spouses can drive for free...(I hadn't known that and thought it was only costco rental that did that) which works for my HI trip since I'm renting using UR points (Alamo)but main name is Dh,and I can also drive the car.ETA if part of alamo insiders

It's a question of logistics right now. Each company while they were separate had a gift card program that used a payment network. I imagine they used different networks, so just swiping one at the other won't work - sorta like if you tried to swipe an AmEx at Costco. Eventually they'll either setup both networks at all properties to take either legacy card, or reissue one set of cards so they can be used at all properties. But usually this is not high on the priority list. Like my Acme Markets has been part of Albertson's/Safeway for a couple years now but I still can't use a Safeway GC there yet. I can use it at Albertsons, Jewel Osco and someone else in the family, and I imagine that's because they were all integrated on one network before and until we're integrated onto the network Safeway is using I can't get discounted GCs for my groceries dang it

Was just coming to share those RMN deals :D They expire 9/30.

So ticked bc we spent $40 at Home Depot on Saturday lol Will be heading to Walgreens and Staples today!
just did the WG $5 deal yesterday on a $500 gc! off to get another one with my FR card....
