The ABC's of Sauntering Through WDW- J is for: Just Like That, It's Judiciously Ended! (4/23)

We actually are doing a couple of new things including a dessert party and a candlelight processional dinner package. Both are mostly just because of the crazy crowds we’re expecting but excited to try them!
Nice!!!!! I've never done either of those. I recently heard about an after-dessert party that sound intriguing- not so much for the food itself but for an empty park experience. :) The crowds, from what I see, will be heavy that week after Christmas. Yikes!

For those new to Leisa's reports , lfe and delicious sense of humor , I have followed her since her Crapistan days , had a wonderful meet with her in DC , when she first came back from the Camels , I also met her again at Piano Bob's and we celebrated her un birthday . Yes I was the culprit but but another put me up to it!! Looking forward to this PTR!!

And you KNOW I'm glad you ARE here!! :welcome: My Sweet Scottish Friend! I hope to have many adventures this Fall and can have stories to share with you!

And... WHOOPS!!! How completely silly of me!! Did I forget to shower you with copious photos of my grand baby?!

I feel exactly like Fallon, I'm finally here before you're report is on page 72! Very happy to be joining in :surfweb:

Ooh, I'm horrible lately at keeping up on DIS threads (including my own) but now I need to make a stop over there to see what the news is!

 TWO kids and I'm right there with ya. I was all about crop tops in high school and college but now even a non-crop top is sometimes too short!

Your Disney Bounding outfits are awesome and I LOVE your "mystery" one! They need to have an adult costume contest at MNSSHP because you would win, hands down. I also love the idea of bounding but 1. I am the least creative person in the world and 2. I'm lucky if I figure out my regular outfits 48 hours before we leave anymore!

She is adorable !! I would love a Great Grandaughter !! Girls are so much more fun to clothes shop for

Also I think I am all caught up . Love the photos o the day, and happy to see Flossbina here also !!

Was that where you got the petrified poo?

I will try and remember to follow along. I started a couple of your TR's over the years but I always forget to keep up on them. I forget to keep up on my own reports so that's not unusual. I'll actually be at Disney around the same time. I literally just booked a quick trip about 2 weeks ago for October 1st to the 6th.

Your granddaughter is very cute.

D is for: Dang Awesome Play Books

Looking ahead to my schedule, it appears I am down to not very many weekends left to update. So how about a nice little mid-week chapter of yet more Pre-Trip goodies?

Everyone needs a plan, right? Well, maybe some people can go without a plan of any sort, but those people may very well wait in longer lines, eat food they may not want, or waste precious park time in getting around. I don't want to be that person. Disney vacations just cost too much to fart around. (Er, okay. Fine. But I do try to limit that...)

Anyway, remembering the plan is an art!

Which I don't possess.

So, I make brain sheets. But not just any brain sheets. I create durable, handy-dandy, flippable brain sheets that double as a trip notebook. I'm rather proud of these little beauties so wanted to share them with you. There is plenty of blank room on the back sides for writing down all of the wonderful adventures I'm sure to have so I can share. Like I said, I can't remember what I had for dinner last night, so in a year or so, when this TR is more stale than nachos at a County Fair, I'll have something to remind me what I did.

It's also a handy little tool to attach my Food and Wine plan (which will be in a future update) and, as you already know, my little Scavenger Hunt cards. My flight confirmation #s and info is on the 1st page, so I have that handy too.

Waterproof enough for a Florida downpour, bendy so they don't stab me, small enough to fit in my new little fanny pack (yes, jumping in early in this retro return of the fanny pack!), yet big enough for all the important deets... I sound like an HG TV ad, no? George Foreman and I should have been working together. How many of you bought the sandwich press? Grill?

I still need to attach the pen with a piece of string, but other than that, they are ready to go. :thumbsup2

I know the app has all that at your fingertips now, but dead batteries do (and have) happened, the app sucks, and it's easier than using the phone.

On an entirely different note, I bought my MNSSHP party costume accessories yesterday and am pumped at this year's get up. Things are coming together nicely. :hyper:

Happy hump day, All!

Those look great! And very similar to my spreadsheet. I just have all days of the trip on one sheet that U then fold up and have in my bag (with additional print outs back at the hotel in case of a water accident).

Michael laughed at it when he first saw it and then he was the one constantly using it.

I think there are quite a few folks who use spreadsheets! I love Billie's renditions, but also love that I can write on these. I tried to take notes on my phone, but ran into the battery issue; carrying a pocket charger is heavy so I don't wanna. Also, I recently LOST all the notes on my phone, so that freaks me out now.

LOL!!!! One of those "don't mock it, til you try it" cases.

Awwww! You're sweet, Rosie! It has been quite a few years that we go back, hasn't it?

I"m glad you're here and still on your road to recovery. You're a super trooper!

That was such an awesome Mega-Meet! Rob, Jamie, @glennbo123 and Judy, you, Tracy, and I think even a few others. We did lots of fun touring that day!

You cheeky little devil you. I laughed pretty hard that day with Piano Bob!

Isn't she a cutie? I bought her some cute little hair bows when they visited. :) I couldn't get her anything too big because they were already maxed out on luggage for flying back to Guam.

Also I think I am all caught up . Love the photos o the day, and happy to see Flossbina here also !!

I think you are!! Well, you were! LOL!! I just updated again. (You know how fast these things can move.)

Love your brain sheets! I make little cards with plan deets for our group and friends I plan for, also. I am getting better at the phone stuff, but I still lIke the Pre historic pen to paper best :rotfl2:

I am loving your countdown pics! I think the butterfly is my fav so far.

ETA because you mentioned George Foreman, there is an ad for an indoor grill at the bottom of the page

I hope we do get to see you along the way! :) It's always fun to make new friends and get to know people along the way. That's what makes the DISBoards so great!

You know how to subscribe so you get alerts, right?? There have been times I've forgotten to sub in and have missed loads of updates of others' reports. That makes me sad! Haha!

I will PM you, okay?? It'd be fun to say a hello in the parks if our schedules mesh up.

Thank you!! I agree; she's a really sweet baby on top of being cute!

Thanks! I also like pen and paper best. I guess I'm old fashioned, but there ya have it.

Thanks, Tammie. There are plenty more where that came from! One a day, til I"m on my way!

That's hilarious!! I didn't even know these were still a thing!! :lmao:

Very nice pages. I'm with you on wanting a physical pen and paper to hold. I keep trying to make schedules/menus/etc on spreadsheets but somehow it seems more concrete when it's written down on a page. Travel notebooks are the way to go!

That would be nice. I have been recognized at times by people reading my TR's and made some lasting friends that way. I am easily recognized by my well decorated chariot. I need an ECV due to knee and ankle issues and I usually decorate it for the season that I am down for. This trip will be Halloween and Fall fun.

I did at one time. Things change and I forget. Then I forge4t to check the alerts. Having my avatar show up from replies at least reminds me where I have commented.

That would be great. Always nice to stop and say hello to new people.

Grandkids are the best. I have 8 of them now, 9 if you count my adopted grandson. I just took a trip with all but one of them almost a year ago now. I did a TR on it. I started a love of Disney in all of them.

Judy and I were just talking about this the other day because this past Sunday was the day before the-first-day-of-school. We don't have any kiddos in elementary or high school anymore so we were saying how different this one was than the one in 2011 when we went to see you folks in D.C. Our oldest was panicking because she wasn't done with her summer work yet. Being the great parents we are, we left (sympathetically) for a day-trip to D.C.! (Hey, we couldn't do the work for her!) That was a fun time with you guys though.

To comment on your chapter, I do my Plan on a spreadsheet. I made a pretty detailed one for our trip to Hawaii last month. I put all of our flight info on it (record locator, times, flight number), what the plan is for each morning/afternoon/evening, addresses of places I want to go (points of interest, restaurants), etc. I also had a tab to track all of the bookings I needed to make for excursions and reservations, with the website, expected cost, and could check them off as I made them. I printed Judy a hardcopy but I pdf'd mine and put it in Dropbox so that I could access it on my phone. I do NOT want anything else to carry, flip-laminated or not. :)

Oh wow those cards are amazing! They look great. I should probably look into doing that...I do have a laminating machine at home so maybe for a future trip. Looking forward to the costume updates!
3 more days for me...
...and they are 3 of the longest days, LOL...

Happy hump day!
