We will be honeymooning from 10/1-10/9 and we've never been to the MNSSHP. What do you veterans recommend we do to really EXPERIENCE the party? We aren't concerned with attractions, as we're pretty confident that we'll get those in. We live in CA, and I worked at DLR in college, and have literally been to DLR more times than I can count. Both of us have only been to WDW once (him in 94 me in 07), so we new to WDW, but not new to theme park touring. We really want to get the most out of the party specifically
I've been twice and going again this year (after saying we weren't LOL). It really depends what you enjoy. Many love to get photos with the rarely seen characters, special effect photo pass photos or the event merchandise. My must dos are the merchandise, parade ,Hocus Pocus show and fireworks. Oh, and special treats! I think if you read reviews and tips online for touring plans you can arrange a schedule that works for you. Enjoy your honeymoon! We will be there the same time.

I don’t normally do down to the minute itineraries but am giving this a shot...

Attending October 11th with DS (age 5). Costumes are HM tightrope walker and crocodile.
Fastpasses: Peter Pan 3:15-4:15,
Haunted Mansion 4:15-5:15,
Jungle Cruise 5:15-6.

3:30-4 - Enter MK. Shop for merchandise at Emporium on the way in.
4:10-4:25 - ride Peter Pan with FP.
4:25-4:40 - Get Maleficent cone at Storybook Treats (and Headless Horseman straw clip?)
4:40-5:00- ride HM with FP and take pics (hitchhiking ghost magic shot)
5:15-5:30 - ride Jungle Cruise with FP.
5:30-7 Line up for Moana after JC hopefully will be done just before 7.
7-7:15 - Get Oogie Boogie popcorn bucket from cart by Jungle Cruise if still available.
7:15-8 - Get spot close to stage for 7:40 Hocus Pocus.
8-8:15 - waffle sundae at Sleepy Hollow?
8:15-8:30- meet Gravediggers
8:30-9:30 - parade in Frontierland (might have time to do a trick or treating stop first)
9:30-? - Tarzan and crew and maybe Jafar & other Aladdin characters.
Take break at 10:15 to watch fireworks over water?
Ride Pirates.
Get doombuggy treat at Aloha Isle?
After finishing in that area, head towards HM to maybe ride again or at least enjoy atmosphere and get magic shot taken.
Make way into Fantasyland and ride teacups and maybe more rides and trick or treating until DS has had enough!
Get HM magic shots on Main St and Town Sq on the way out?

Oooh i need this !!

I think I "need" one of these.

I don't need that, I don't even know if I'll have space on my suitcase for it. But boy, do I want that light up skull mug!!

Fair Warning: Looking through WDW's website of Tortuga Tavern it shows no hours past Sept. 1, 2018 AND this original report by Disney Food Blog was June 2018. Though I will add, I have not heard of people hoarding them and believe you early birds will have a better chance at getting them.

Hey all !

It's hard to follow the MNSSHP thread, so i was hoping you guys could post your MNSSHP Itineraries and your thought process behind them.

There seems to be A LOT you can do at the party and not much time to do it all. Time management seems crucial at this event.

Thanks!

Does anybody have an idea what time CHH closes? A few years ago I planned on having dinner there but they had already closed. I figure I’ll be safe by eating there around 6:30-7.
I'm on the freeway right now, but have looked at WDW's website to confirm, that's where I'd start.

I definitely wanted to touch base with you again to make sure we didn't lose you. I'm currently in Southern California right now but my thread is being watched by some pretty awesome people, unfortunately as with all threads it moves fast during and after the first party. I hope you took the time to read through the posts I suggested. Many had links and great advice to help you get started. So at this point what have you planned so far?
I can say i did not go to Disneyland to compare similar rides found in WDW. Our parks are unique in their own special way.
Please let me know what you and yours have decided to do. You have not been forgotten!
Thia

Better yet why don't you post yours and we'll give our best advice on it. Have you seen Post #1 on page one? Lots of info there. You should always start on the first post to all threads, mine is like a book! :flower1:

Can you please include your scheduled FP times. I'm not able to link your itinerary to the main page, still driving to Universal.

I'm caught up on the Main Halloween thread and will go through the Itinerary Thread tonight. I will be adding itineraries to the Main page so you all have easy access to them.

Again, please do not repost your itineraries. Simply EDIT them and drop us a note. We know where to find you.

Late September and October Peeps, now is not the time to fine tune your itineraries. We need confirmation from more parties as things can change. :stir:

Hi :welcome: to the party! Your Itinerary has been added to the Main Page, Post #1 by month and in alphabetical order. If you make changes just post a note. Again it's too early to carve your plans in stone. When I get back from my trip I'll have a loo see. Please include your scheduled FP times. Also consider using mobile food ordering. Thanks buddy! :-)

I think I was trying to both at the same time and not doing either one well. To be honest, I didn't even realize I was posting on the Itinerary Thread rather than the general Halloween thread until after I posted. Newbie problems. Thanks for your patience.

Here is my little itinerary for your feedback. It is still pretty skeletal. I am not really sure how long things take:

Oct 11
DH, DW, DD17, DD15, DD12, DD5

(9:30-2pm) HS

2pm return to Boardwalk Inn to change, etc
4:15-5:00 MK Party Entrance
5:15-6:00 7DMT (FP from 5-6)
6:15-7:15 dinner at Crystal Palace (r/s for Cinderella or BoG?)
7:30-8:00 Hocus Pocus Show (switch with dance party times if running late at dinner)
8:00-8:45 Nick Jr Dance Party
Tag Team: Mom or dad claims a parade spot
8:45-9:30 Parade (view at Frontierland? See Horseman?)
9:30 Hallowishes at ???

I guess Trick or Treating is just between other events? We have another full day at MK on this trip so I am considering any rides we go on at the party a bonus. I was thinking my biggies might be able to snag a couple of rides while the little one is at the Nick Jr Party. They also could stay after the parade if DH or I still has any energy.

Also - is it possible (or frowned upon) to tag team/have one person claim spots for the parade and fireworks viewing? Sorry - I am sure this has been addressed before but I couldn't find anything on my search.

Thanks a bunch for any tips or advice!

Hi and :welcome: to the party! It's still early for planning but I do think you're spending way too much time at the dance party and I would not recommend using Tag Team for Parade and Firework holding. You all should be together when find a spot, it's a sea of people which makes it difficult to find each other. You'll see. Are you're older kids 17, 15 & 12 planning their own party? Why am I getting deja vu?

Your itinerary has been posted to the Main Page, please do not re-post it if you make changes. We know where to find you! Thanks!

It's OFFICIAL! I bought tickets yesterday and booked FPs this morning! Have a beach vacay planned for the week but squeezing in a one night trip to do the party. I have been dreaming of going to the Halloween party for years! I can't wait! Not doing costumes but ordering custom shirts and ears. And did I mention it will be a surprise for the kiddos?!?! Just hoping the littlest won't be disappointed that we aren't doing costumes.

Oct. 9
Me, husband, son (16), daughter (14) and son (8)
3:15-3:30 - arrive at the MK gate
4:00 - enter and walk thru bypass, get candy & photos
3:45 - 4:45 - Jungle Cruise FP
4:45-5:45 - BTMR FP
5:45 - Tiki room before it closes for the party.
This is all I have for concrete plans. Main focus will be rides, but maybe characters if the lines are short, trick or treating later in the evening. Definitely the parade, stage show and fireworks. Also the rides with the special party effects (Pirates, HM, teacups & SM) are must do during the party. Will grab a late lunch before entering the park (maybe at the Poly) and grab snacks during the evening. I'm thinking maybe try to do SDMT after the fireworks, was not able to get a FP.

Hi and :welcome: to the party! Thank you for posting your itinerary here! I hope you've gotten some great tips and are staying on top of this thread for all the changes and updates.

I've added your itinerary to the Main Page. Please use the "EDIT" feature when making any changes and post a note, we'll know where to find you! :-)

Hi friend and :welcome: to the party and our little corner of the DIS! I see you know how to use the "edit" feature so we're off to a great start! I'll go through your itinerary with a fine tooth comb as soon as we get more reports back until then please add your scheduled FP times when you can and you need to figure out where you plan on watching the parade. It starts at 11:15pm, lots of stuff on: Post #3

Your itinerary has been added to the Main page, post #1! Welcome aboard!

You will never be able to do all that is offered in one night (or even two). That’s why it’s so important to prioritize what is important to YOUR group. Special characters? Party exclusive parade, fireworks and shows? Short lines for attractions? A mix of all 3? No two itineraries will be identical. You need to start by identifying your must dos and we can help you build from there! Having a good plan is critical to maximizing your time at these parties.
