*** The Official September 2018 Thread *** let's get started to have some fun

I can understand the snark. But my kids loved them as well. They had a blast getting them stamped in each country and having them written in. And they come with STICKERS. I mean, come on. Stickers? That automatically makes anything awesome according to my daughter. Ha!

Best part of Elementary school - when you got a 100% and the teacher had the little foil stars or Halloween stickers! I asked my 25 year old DD if she wanted one. Sadly, she said, "no". She has a real passport but it doesn't have STICKERS.

Ok, so the passport I bought for me and DH is a Drink Around the World Passport. But it comes with a little Sharpie in which we can mark the country/drink we had, so that has to count for something :)

LOL That's great! Not wanting to do that for my DD. I know she is certainly old enough but still...

MBs are within my State. Crap shoot if they get delivered. USPS is difficult at our branch. They don't like to deliver packages - weighs their arm down while extending it out the door of the mail TRUCK. :lmao: I am away :beach: in the rain.

Seriously,we can have 4 cars in driveway and still get the orange slip _ we tried to deliver; nobody was home. :rotfl2: Monday is a holiday so Tuesday if DH or I can be late for work in the a.m. Post office has banker's hours of yore.

I could ask DH who is extremely cranky today if he'll stand by the box :cheer2:(can't see it from the house) for the 3 hour window they deliver. popcorn::

Doesn't look like any changes for my trip (9/8-9/15).

I'm hoping they'll extend Animal Kingdom hours a bit in the evening-- they have the park closing at 8:30, which is before Rivers of Light those nights (8:45). Last year (same week), Animal Kingdom closed at 9 with Rivers of Light at the same time.

[EDIT] Just got a Touringplans email about an hours change (which wasn't up on Touringplans or Disney's website when I checked earlier). Doesn't impact me, though-- they only changed hours on the two Saturdays (9/8 and 9/15), and I'm not planning on either one being a park day.

Hey! We’re there the exact same time: 9/8-9/15, maybe we’ll run into each other! Where are you staying?

Lol! This is so our area as well. We live in a tiny city called Hamtramck which lives within Detroit, MI. The mail here is a problem. Even getting mail delivered to the local branch doesn’t guarantee it’ll ever show up! Good luck!

Hello fellow Michigander! My grandma used to drive to Hamtramck every Fat Tuesday for Paczkis! :)

My MagicBand apparently shipped this morning-- USPS doesn't have a delivery date estimated yet (they still haven't received it), but I'd expect probably Wednesday or so since it's coming from Florida. USPS is pretty good with packages here-- unless it's actually signature required, they'll generally leave anything on the porch (or stuff it in my mailbox).

French Quarter-- this'll be my second ever solo trip, hopefully with less hurricane than last year (wasn't there for Irma, but had to delay my trip a few days).

I got back from my beach/concert trip to find my DME tags and the first set of Magic Bands! That was great to see :)

I was looking over my itinerary and the first three days of my trip are making me a bit nervous. My daughter and I are not early risers unless absolutely necessary (like school and work) but the first three days of our trip (well I guess it would be first four if you count the day we fly there..we have a 7:00 AM flight) involve getting out of bed insanely early. As of now, it looks like the final itinerary is:

09/03: Arrival day at AKL. Swim for a bit, nap, then Disney Springs in PM.
09/04: Sense of Africa tour at AK (meet in lobby at 6:45 AM...that will be rough lol). AK afterwards.
09/05: Epcot - PPO breakfast at Garden Grill. Aquas Seas Tour at noon! Excited about that! HS in PM.
09/06: Wild Africa Trek at AK at 8:00 AM. Maybe go to a water park afterwards for a bit, then to the Boardwalk in the evening.
09/07: MNSSHP.
09/08: Switch resorts (AKL to the Poly), rent a Sea Raycer for half an hour, then to HS.
09/09: MNSSHP. Maybe waterpark in AM.
09/10: Resort day at the Poly
09/11: MNSSHP
09/12: Epcot
09/13: AK
09/14: Departure day :( We have a late flight so we will probably go to a park until about 4:30.

So that’s the plan. I didn’t include ADR’s because there are just way too many of them lol. We will sleep in on some days and sometimes go to water parks in the morning and then to a park afterwards. We also have park hoppers which we plan on using. I can’t believe it is just over 3 weeks away!

Oh and I added $200 to my budget to book the Free Dining BBO so Disney World 2019, here we come!

Well, it's completely last minute, but I just booked a "3 generations girls trip" with my mom and my daughter for September 17-20 at POFQ!
I'll be there solo during your stay. If an older guy in a Hawaiian shirt and Little Mermaid hat says "Hi" that will be me....

I'm really enjoying the excitement on this thread. I'm going solo so no one here at home is as stoked as I am. It's kinda fun to share that with complete strangers!

33 days!
