Fully agree! I hate being wet...and if I'm wet and cold - forget it. No way.
I know what you mean. I was thinking about what fastpasses to try to get I did not even consider Splash or Kali River Rapids because we are going in mid October and I was not sure what the temps will be like.

Aug 17th
2 Adults & 3 Kids (MZ, CZ, MZ, EZ & RZ)

Friday, Aug 17th / 2 Adults & 3 Kids (MZ, CZ, MZ, EZ & RZ)
DH = Disney Husband, DS? = Disney Son age?, DD? = Disney Daughter age?

9:15-10.00 Haunted Mansion Ride & Photos
10:00-10:45 Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular Show (Maybe Catch the Later Show)

I would change this and spend the time riding the mountain rides, Splash and Big Thunder Mountain. Plus there are roaming characters from Song of the South, Br'er Rabbit, Br'er Bear. See: Post #3

Hi! We are going to Disney for the first time in October with our four daughters, ages 17, 14, 12, and 5. We are going to the Halloween Party one night and have dinner reservations at 6:15 at CP. I would like to keep checking for openings at Cinderella’s castle even though I know it is a long shot. Is there anyway to check for openings during the party without calling? I know they don’t show up under general reservation requests online but since we already have our Halloween tickets I thought there may be a way to get them to show up on MDE.

And I am also open to opinions about eating a dinner during the party. I know the general consensus is not to waste the time. However, this will be our first full day at the parks and we are planning to be at HS from about 10-2, break from 2-4 to change into costumes and such, then be at MK for a 7DMT FP from 5-6. I think that is going to be a lot for my five year old, and that some time to sit and chill before the party gets going in earnest might not be such a bad thing. We are planning not to ride much during the party - just trick or treat, watch the villain show and parade, maybe do the kids’ dance party and see if the kindergartener can keep it together until the fireworks. What do you veterans think? Am I kidding myself?

It dropped down to 45° ::yes:: I posted about the temps dropping: 2017 Itinerary - Post #2026 :cold:

What's super annoying is having an outdoor heated pool but never being able to use it because it's too cold! We ski in Colorado and have outdoor pools at out resorts and have no issue. Not Disney, we're always cold in their pools.

Use Touring Plans restaurant finder app - I think that's what it's called, someone please chime in. I've never used this FREE service before but have heard major kudos from those who have. No, you're not kidding yourself. People cancel all the time! Get this app ASAP! If you have to use other threads to find out more do it, the sooner the better!

Chiming in! I usually just google "Touring Plans reservation finder" and it's the first link to come up (it's free to use, I think you just have to make an account with touring plans to use it). You enter the restaurant, the date(s), the meal or specific time frame, your party size, email address and cell phone number. Then you wait. The website will randomly search for open reservations during the dates/times you selected. When one opens up, you'll get a text message with a link to click on to make the reservation. You'll want to click on it right away, so you don't lose it! Most importantly, if you do miss the reservation, you need to log back into the reservation finder website and restart the search. I've used it many times with great success! Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! I just signed up for Touring Plans. Do you think it has access to the reservations during the party even though you can't see them online? Also - do you experienced WDW goers think that my itinerary is too much for a five year old? Even with a dinner break? Thanks again!

That I'm not sure about. I would think if it's not on the website, the reservation finder wouldn't be able to access it, but I'm not sure. If I were you, I'd put the search in anyway and make "dinner" the time frame. Maybe they'll open online reservations for the party time and you'll be able to book it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

So this is your itinerary? I'm sorry, I thought you were asking questions. When posting an itinerary it helps to break it down like this:

Aug 17 / DH, DW, DD7, DS4

3:30-4:10 MK Party Entrance
4:15-4:20 Snap some photos!
4:20-4:45 Mickey's PhilharMagic 15min
4:50-5:15 It's a Small World 25min
5:20-5:45 Mad Tea Party 30min
5:50-7:20 Winnie the Pooh M&G
Tag Team: Send DH to pick up snacks.
7:30-8:15 Lots-o-Huggin Bear
8:15-9:00 Headless Horseman Magic Shot / SotMK card
9:00-10:30 10:15 HalloWishes at Fake grass at Plaza
10:30-11:50 11:15 Boo-To-You Parade at Main Street

Asking for advice without giving the date of your party is difficult to answer, it could be a historical sold out date or one of the lowest attended, which as you can see changes everything.

Hi all! We are so excited to be attending our first Halloween Party on 9/16!

Thoughts on itinerary are much appreciated!
Moana is our 1st priority, then Minnie, Daisy, Donald & Mickey in Halloween attire, want to see parade, fireworks, trick or treat & photopass pics. Teacups & Carrousel will probably be our only rides.

9/16
Me & DD (6)

3:30-4:15- Wristbands/ bypass/ Photopass pics
4:30-6?- Moana (snack while waiting)
6:15-7:15?- Minnie, Daisy & Donald
7:15-8:00- Trick or Treat & Teacups (buy pins@ Big top?) mobile order Casey’s
8:15-9:30- Parade (eat while waiting) early enough to get spot on Main Street?
9:30-10:30-Fireworks
10:40-Mickey (wait time?)
11-12- more trick or treating/ photopass pics/shopping (possibly watch 2nd parade)
12- Hocus Pocus (if DD is still going strong!)

Trying to minimize long waits for characters & use time waiting for snacks/eating. No tag team so hoping my DD will do ok! We are super excited!!

Any dining during parties won't show availability during party hours. On the dining reservation page you have to look for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Dining. When you click into that you choose your restaurant and time slot to check availability. Because of how they've done this, I'm assuming it won't work with the Touringplans Reservations finder. I could be wrong though.

Also for restaurants as popular as CRT, do use the reservation finder as it's awesome, but also keep looking yourself if the reservation is important to you. This is important as these reservations go fast, and even though the reservation finder will look several times a day, it's not constantly checking and you might miss out. I scored both CRT and BOG myself when checking myself as it became available between the times Touring Plans were checking. Also be aware that using the reservation finder is no guarantee that you will actually get the reservation you're alerted about. I have had several emails where I logged in and tried to book within a minute of receiving the email, but it was already gone. If you get an email/text, log in right away and book as soon as possible.

@Frogmom6 Good news. I've just checked CRT for all party dates for October as you didn't mention what date you're going, and with the exception of Oct 31st CRT has availability on every single party in October (hopefully that's not your date). I think a lot of people prefer not to do TS dining during parties as it takes a lot of times from the party, which is why there's so much more availability.

Oct 11
DH, DW, DD17, DD15, DD12, DD5

(9:45-2pm) HS (late lunch 1:30-2)
2-4:30 rest, snack, change at hotel
4:30 Minnie Van to MK

5-5:30MK Party Entrance, bypass
5:40-6 7DMT (FP 5-6)
6-6:15 Dumbo
6:20-6:45 HM
6:50-7:10 Aladdin
7:15-7:40 Pirates
7:45-8:35 ToT Frontierland to Disney Jr Dance party
8:35-9:45 Parade (Hall of Presidents. Front row? Tag Team food and ToT Fantasyland)
9:45-10:15 HM MS
10:30 HH MS, SoMK card on way out

Rides, ToT, and getting a good spot for the parade are our priorities. We are planning to leave during the fireworks.

Thanks a bunch for any tips or advice!
