The August 2018 "Vacation Vote" Exercise Thread

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I certainly did! I took a weekend trip with my brother and husband to Six Flags Great America in Chicago (which really isn't that great of a park, but being with family is always fun). I'm adding 165 minutes from walking all over that park. That puts me right to Open to Close Orange! We have plenty of other color changes too!
Way to go PollyannaMom, sophy1996, and liquid17! You all turned Stand-by Blue! The team is Blue as well!

So on our first day we decided to go to Magic Kingdom, and as a team, we've decided to enjoy the following attractions!

Jungle Cruise

Pirates of the Carribean

Big Thunder Mountain

Splash Mountain

Haunted Mansion

it's a small world

Peter Pan's Flight

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Peoplemover

Carousel of Progress

AND Bonus: We'll stay at the park to watch Happily Ever After Fireworks!

I was surprised how we were all on the same page, for the most part, with what we all wanted to do! I think all of us got to do most of the things we wanted! Hooray team!

Let's discuss where we want to have lunch in the park! Instead of doing a vote, I'll just pick one of your suggestions in my next post!

I should have set the goal in minutes really
If you want to switch to minutes, which is really more what we do in this thread, you can change it up and I'll update the first post.[/url]

A whopping (for me) 120 minutes today - mostly walking and then helping break down the flea market I helped set up the other day (more lifting and hauling, rolling up of big tarps, etc.)

I'm up to 190/620,

and I'll suggest Columbia Harbour House - because it's my favorite QS in MK (and we've got a lot of rides planned! :car: )

8/6 - 70m (45m circuit class, 25 m stationary bike)

195/840

I love Skipper Canteen! But I vote for Columbia Harbor House. I like to have lunch there after a morning in Tomorrowland/Fantasyland on my way to Liberty Square and beyond!

Way to go Twilight Sparkle and PollyannaMom! You both have now reached Open to Close Orange!

Looks like the team has decided on Colombia Harbor House for lunch!!

I checked out their menu and while I don't really eat fish/seafood, the Lighthouse Sandwich sounds awesome (and light on a hot August day)!
Here's a pic of the restaurant from Disney's website so we can all imagine we're there!

Let's take suggestions for dinner now to close out our first day of voting at the Magic Kingdom.

We've had lunch requests for Be Our Guest and Skipper Canteen, so maybe we can do one of those for dinner? Let's vote, and don't be shy to suggest something else!

I think a sit-down dinner would be good for a bit of a rest! Liberty Tree sounds good. I would love Be Our Guest, but trying to get in is exhausting.

Another possibility is to try a MK-area resort; maybe head over to Ohana (though it too is hard to get into!). Guess we could stop by Trader Sam’s if we need a drink.

You now what they say about the road to hell? Well, after posting my August goal, I managed to do a number on my back (an age-old problem for me) so I've been forced to take it easy. but, feeling better now(fingers crossed!).
So, starting on track today withe 20 minutes weights, and hoping to try some easy yoga later.
Good work to all - you've really set a pace for the month!
Great list in MK - I've never been on the People Mover! In over 30 trips!!! I love the lobster roll at Columbia House!
Since we're in MK, would it be awful to include a Monorail Pub Crawl when we're done?

30 minutes yesterday, and 25 today, for a new total of 255/620.

I was going to say Columbia Harbour House too, but has anyone tried the Jungle Cruise Skipper Canteen?

I haven't yet, but I have an ADR for our December trip!

So I'll vote that for our imaginary day as well.

Since we're in MK, would it be awful to include a Monorail Pub Crawl when we're done?

Not at all! I'm in!

8/7 - 55 m (40m circuit class, 15 m elliptical)

250/850

I think that Skipper Canteen is more charming and fun than BOG, but BOG is pretty awesome... And I love LTT...How can I decide!

I'm now thinking that we should pick all the hard-to-get spots, since this is imaginary and we're not really having to wake up early 180 days in advance to try to get an ADR!

Good idea - so I think we should eat at BOG!
