Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

FYI - new menu across the lake at Boardwalk Pizza window that sounds pretty good! I didn’t care for the old pizza but will definitely give this a try with the new dough. The boxed pizzas will be easy to bring back to the room or even to the pool. Love that it’s open late - currently til midnight. Hopefully they add online ordering.

Sounds like you were upgraded to a Deluxe Room! What is your room number? It sounds like our room we had a few weeks ago.

My friend Teena, former BC lobby greeter said that the 606 rooms were her favorite standard rooms at the resort. They are almost the size of the Deluxe rooms, but are not in that booking category.

Hi. We have our second trip to the beach club planned in October but this time with an 18 month old. Does anyone have a picture of the crib that you can get for a toddler - just wondering if it will be ok for son or whether we should bring our own travel cot (if we have room!!). Thanks
These are from the YC:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

The picture I have of the crib (next post) is several years old, not sure if these are still the ones they have.

Would love an updated picture if anyone has one!

Are pack and plays also available upon request, or is that for the villas??? Never travelled with young'uns.

Thank you. I hope the white ones are still around - little one doesn’t seem to sleep in the pack and play ones very well

Hi everyone! We checked into Yacht Club today for our first stay ever. I’m impressed. The room renovations are outstanding. All the little details in the room for organization and convenience were well thought out. I especially love the lights in the bed frame and the little shelf and outlet on the side of the bed that is nearest to the bathroom. The room is clean...not even dust under the bed. My only complaint is that i paid for a garden/Woods view and we have a view of a giant tree and a parking lot through the branches. We are only here for two nights otherwise I’d ask to be moved. I enjoy coffee on the balcony in the mornings so I’m i bit disappointed, but maybe some wildlife will be out tomorrow! We spent the day at the pool only leaving to go to Epcot for lunch. We never had a problem finding chairs. There are quite a lot in the shade over by YC. Minnie, Daisy, Donald & Goofy came to the pool for a dance party.

I don’t recall seeing this mentioned, but I may have missed it. There are repairs and painting going on at BC. There is scaffolding in front of most of the water view rooms. It was pretty loud at times because we could hear it in the lazy river.

We stayed at BC in February. Now that I’ve stayed at both I think I prefer YC. The lobby area is a lot quieter even with a convention going on. I found the BC to be overwhelming sometimes with non-resort guests.

Reports are that the white ones were being phased out. You can ask when you check in, but I wouldn’t plan on one being available. Lots of companies rent baby equipment and deliver to the resort. I would definitely rent a crib if your little one can’t sleep i the pack n play

The exterior work at the BC has been going on for more than a month. I believe there is mention of the work quite a few pages back in this thread. The YC will be next.

Some guests have been complaining that the lifts with workers are positioned right in front of their windows and balconies, making privacy and use of the balconies quite iffy.

Glad that you are enjoying the YC, even if the view is not what you had in mind.

The work to BC was going on when we were there in Mid April. The beginning of the week they were on the walkway near Beaches & Cream. They moved onto the rooms later in the week. I’m really surprised they are still on the waterview side almost 4 months later.

If you're concerned you could rent one from Kingdom Stroller Rental (I'm sure there are other rental options, too, I just know people seem to like Kingdom). They rent full size cribs in addition to strollers and are able to drop off at Bell Services. https://www.kingdomstrollers.com

We were just there last week and I saw a CM wheeling a folded crib off the elevator that looked very much like it would open to one of the standard white cribs (not pack n play).

This could also be a crib that the person rented from off site and bell services was delivering, I have read in recent years that the resorts have switched over to pack and plays, and that if you want real cribs you need to rent them from an outside vendor but I have no personal experience.

Ok! I don’t get on this board much and hadn’t seen a recent mention of it.

I just took this photo.

I’m booked at YC CL for Marathon Weekend. Is there any time frame for the work there?

Yay, yay, yay! We’ll be back at the BC next May!

We need a redo vacation, as for the first time ever, I was sick at WDW this past trip. Came down with a cold and cough the day before we went. Thank goodness for the pharmacy that delivers to the resorts! I needed antibiotic and couldn’t taste ANY of my delicious food for the first four days of a six-day stay. I lost 5 lbs. on a Disney vacation, imagine that haha! PLUS I had really bad sciatica that had me limping the whole time. I was a mess!

Cannot wait to be back at the BC for this trip, since we spend so much time at Epcot and the WS. Bringing DD’s BFF this time, who hasn’t been since she was a kid...fun! Just can’t wait to be back in my happy place.

I’m pretty sure you are the first person to post about the scaffolding at BC. Until then, all we knew about were the cherry picker type lifts. I haven’t seen any other reports about this, so I don’t think we have any idea when or if YC will get done.

There was scaffolding up in front of the rooms that are next to the secret entrance, 1501, and toward the villas when we were there in June. The sidewalk was completely blocked by scaffolding and people couldn't use that entrance to get into the BC or walk to the villas. They needed to set up scaffolding in this area because there wasn't enough room to use a cherry picker.
