Where are the August 2018 Folks? August TR thread.

Not stayin Fort, but I’ll be down 8/16-8/23....hope to run by the Fort at some point...
More than a fly by this time? Nice. :thumbsup2

That's a long trip. This one work related or are you cheatin' on the Fort?

We'll be CHEATING on The Fort this weekend. Going up to just outside of Atlantic City NJ for the weekend ' Lucille got tickets to see Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper on Sat. Then back in 2 weeks to see The Beach Boys

PaHunter, I'm starting think we may get groceries before we leave. I'll give the fridge bars a try, and a frozen gallon water. I had seen the fridge bars before, but was sure if they worked or were just a camping "you need this" gimmick. I'm already in the process of placing an order for thing I need, so I'll add the bars.

Placing the order since I'm gonna have to redo my WD hitch, and need a torque wrench for 320 ft/lb, also getting a TPMS for the long trip. I'm not quite as excited now that I'm spending more money.

Peg110, you have to be getting more excited by now. Your getting really close to your dates.

We have used the fridge bars in both our smaller fridge in our TT and now in the residential fridge in our fifth wheel. They have always worked for us, especially when the fridge is not packed too full, which was less of a problem when one owns a smaller fridge.

I hear you, Jimmy.

If money wasn't an issue, DW would prefer Boardwalk, Beach Club, GF or any of the other high roller resorts. DW is cheaper than I am, so until we have enough Visa Disney points saved up, we'll keep towing to the Fort.

@peg110 Congrats on the new truck. It should pull well. However I would have gone 350 for payload when it comes to the diesel. However, I think your DMV doesn't things differently across the river. However enjoy the power it should be a smooth ride. I still believe the 6.2 is no slouch though. It handles the new trailer just fine.

Sort of excited, sort of not.
It just seems like time goes by and before you know it, it's time to leave. Not looking forward to the drive, but I am looking forward to seeing how the new truck pulls. I have no doubt it will do fine (like the last one) but I want to see how much better it will do. (Need confirmation that the purchase was a good choice. :) )

Now if I had a residential fridge in our camper, I could see a need, but bringing food, water, drinks, etc for 4 of us (Me, DW, DD20 and DD13) our smaller fridge stays fairly packed. Even when there is space, we end up putting more bottles of water in the fridge.

Very nice truck there Paul. As for the tire issue that is what you have kids for, right?

Paul,

I can't wait to see your first post after towing with it. We'll all be able to see your big grin through the computer screen. It is night and day to a gasser.

Have a safe trip. Stop by and see us when you get a chance, we are in 1637 until Friday 17.

Wait, what’s going on? Snowmedic is at the Fort.. We certainly are, and without ‘lil medic. She is spending the week back home going to church camp so DW and I decided to come down and spend some time together. Getting the time off was no problem as we are a little slow, but work will be picking up by the time we get back.

Got camp setup good enough for tonight and will finish in the morning. We are on our way to The Springs for some dinner. We got a ride up to the Outpost then got the privilege of riding on a “training” bus, the drivers very first passengers. The trainer is couching him on what to do, where to go, and how to do it.

Will post pics in the morning. Actually I have that I can post now, it is of the new gravel in the pads.
