Checking Availability for Same Park - Same Day
From the App
~ from a booked FP, choose "Modify”
*(Note: to check availability of a Tier 1 attraction, you must choose an existing Tier 1 to modify.)
~ scroll through selections to see availability
~ original FP remains intact if a new ride is not chosen
* The system does not show ride availability for time slots that are blocked by original FP Return Windows.

Question as I’m trying to modify my Slinky FP from 12:40 to earlier in the morning on my departure day.

Do I need to leave that morning window open to see all the availability for SDD? IE, do I need to cancel my other two FPs at 10:40 and 11:40? The last asterisk seems to suggest I won’t see any FPs during already held return time windows.

I did cancel these two and could then see times for Saucers and TSM during those two hours. Before, it only showed timed after my first two (11:50). So anecdotally it seems to the case, but I wanted to verify.

Correct. You won’t see any times that overlap with an existing fp window when attempting to modify.

Ok once I’ve used or not used my early morning fast passes at hs or Epcot, if there’s a time available later in the day for another tier one at same park, can i book one (if available). Can I book a second (tier 1 or 2) 2 hours later? Say I use up my 3 at hs and find tsm or sad for 5 o’clock, can I book another tier 1 or would I have to book another tier 2? Does the 2 hour rule even apply when making fourth or fifth for same park?

Thank you and can I book another fp for after the fourth pass after 2 hours. I want to go to park in morning, then come back to same park and wonder if I can have a couple or 3 for later in day. Or do I have to use 4th before I can make fifth?

For the 4th and beyond, it’s use 1 then book another while in the FP line.

I'm not sure which strategy would be better in this park hopping scenario. We are rope dropping at AK (so, no fast passes) and then hopping over to Epcot in the afternoon, where I have 2 fastpasses for Test Track and Spaceship Earth. Should I book a 3rd throw away fastpass for the morning in hopes that I can grab another Tier 1 at Epcot OR should I keep the 2 fastpasses and add my 3rd after my 1st scan in for later that night when we hop to MK? My 2 current fastpasses are back-to-back, so I am only losing an hour if I book the throw away one.

ETA: I hope that makes sense. We have a lot of hopping in there, because our stay is so short. Just trying to hit all the major attractions.

I’d do this one unless you really need Soarin’ or FEA.

Thank you! That was my initial thought, but then I started to rethink things. The other thing that I am now thinking about is whether or not I should hold onto my Spaceship Earth FP. I booked it as more of a just in case, since we have limited time in Epcot, as opposed to a real need. I wonder how the system would handle it if I cancelled the Spaceship Earth fastpass, day of, if I saw short lines when I got into Epcot. Could I cancel it, scan in at Test Track, and immediately book 2 fastpasses for later at night at Magic Kingdom? Hmmm......

Was hoping for some advice, we are going in late September and starting at HS, then hopping to AK (dinner reservations at 5:00). It is our only day so if course would like to hit the big attractions at each.

Which is the better strategy?
FP+ for slinky, TOT and RNRC, riding TSMM at rope drop or
Go at rope drop and hope to ride those plus star tours and make FP+ for FOP (we want to do Everest, Navi River and Safari too).

If we make 3 FP at HS we couldn’t make one at AK until we have used all 3, right?

Thanks!

Correct. Wait times for TSL have been nowhere near what Pandora waits still are. If you are prepared to arrive an hour or so prior to park open at HS, you should be able to knock out TSL without FPs and without too much trouble (assuming things stay the same). If it were me, I’d book my FPs at AK if FOP is a must do. It’s still the longest wait time on property and is very rarely available day of.

...When_2 or less FP+ are booked for Park #1:
Additionally, the new changes allow you to book fewer than three FP+ and once you scan the first FP+ (from within the first park), you can at that point make FP+ selections for a different park, even if you still have a FP+ remaining in the first park.

This can be especially helpful for Tiered parks – if for example you wish to hit Epcot at rope drop, use only a Tier 1 FP+ and then still have 2 more FP+ for another park later in the day.

Additionally, there is no restriction on Tier requirements BETWEEN PARKS during one day. So if you use a Tier 1 at Epcot you can then book a second Tier 1 at HS immediately upon scanning – Also, you can even book your remaining two FP+ at two different parks if you would like!
...

Is all the above still accurate? I thought I saw recently that tiering between parks (Epcot, HS, AK) is now enforced? (So, to get 2nd tier 1 - at either first or 2nd park I go to in one day - I must use two tier 2 FPs and a tier 1, to get a second tier 1 FP?) Or maybe it was just a random hiccup (that someone wrote about on Disboards)?

Yes; it’s still accurate.

It could have been a glitch or “user” error. User errors usually get reported as system errors. ;)

I can’t figure out how to check for different fps or times in the app for my trip in September. I have my 3 per day planned and I get the error that I can’t plan any more once I select who in the party is going.

You need to go into an existing FP and select “modify.”

For the same park you need to go in and modify an existing FP. For a different park just go through as you would normally and go through the warning.

I also can’t find my fps in the app. I can see next fp and it shows the first on the first day. When I click view all plans, I only see hotel and dining reservations.
