No Kids, Gnu Year! Ringing in 2018 at WDW! **Complete 8/31**

Hi! I remember you from our October 2017 thread.

sniff, sniff - I'm having a case of the sads the last few days. No Disney trips for us until 2020. :(

Enjoying visiting vicariously through your report!

I never thought we'd ever be back for the holidays, so I can't even tell you how happy I was to see Cinderella Castle dripping with Dream Lights again.
:wizard: So glad you had that special moment.

Tears involuntarily rolling down my face.
That's Disney for ya ;)

And even more grateful that we could experience it at 6:30pm and not midnight.
:rotfl2:

Do we have what it takes to deal with this??
I know that I, for one, did NOT.

on our departure day, I take a picture of each hallway as we walk down it
That's the saddest sentence, ugh.

Since we have a whole cabinet full of mugs, it was no loss!
I hear that

I clocked it as .4 miles
OMG :scared1:

This looks SO amazing. I'll have 10.

I had to stop and use the restroom on the way in or I would have had a very embarrassing NYE.
Well you had a golden opportunity (no pun intended, promise!) to join that lady under the monorail! :rotfl:

So glad you made it to Soarin' - what a bummer if after 2 hours on the bus you missed two FPs! And hey, at least you made friends with the people on the bus, right?! :confused3:thumbsup2

So, my husband and I stayed at AKL 3 nights on our honeymoon and loved it. I've always wanted to stay at WL but we had to cancel last year due to the hurricane. For November this year, WL wasn't available. I booked AKL. I was pretty disappointed about it, but seeing your posts about AKL have reminded me why I love it so much.

Nice fireworks spot! I'm glad you enjoyed it and it brought back some nice memories for you :)

Your room looks really nice, and you had a great view!

Yum your lunch at Sanaa sounds great!

Oh goodness, TWO HOURS to get to Epcot? That's brutal! And such chaos getting through bag check/turnstiles!

I really couldn't believe we managed to find a little scrap of space on the hub grass. Before long it was elbow to elbow, but we were THERE, darn it, and that's counts, LOL

One good thing about the room being so far from everything was the quiet factor. We definitely didn't hear noise in the hallway or from any neighbors :rotfl:
The bad part about another good lunch at Sanaa is, how am I going to pick which thing to order from now on, since I am obsessed with both entrees I've had there!
It was the longest bus ride ever. The last hour was the worst b/c we were so close, right there by the Swan/Dolphin, and everyone on the bus was missing out on FPs...I felt really bad for the bus driver, b/c she had to turn around and make the trip all over again. When we got on the bus at AKL, one of the passengers asked, "So how's traffic?" and she laughed, so we should have known it was going to be bad. On the plus side, at least we were on the free bus and didn't try to take Uber or anything!!

MK is so beautiful with all their Christmas decorations
Your room at Kidani is great even though it was a hike to get to
We've never been to Sanaa but your meals look delicious
I can't believe a woman actually stopped and peed in broad daylight by the monorail :crazy2:
We went one year for New Years but stayed away from the parks on New Years Eve. We stayed at the CR theme park view and watched the fireworks from both EP and MK from our balcony. It was the only way I could convince DH to go with the crowds. We spent the day swimming and parasailing. New Years day and beyond crowds we great.

I wonder what the neighbors would say if I decorated my house with lights like that?? :rotfl:
We really liked Kidani (I like Jambo House more, mainly b/c the shop is larger and there are more food options - the building to building shuttle is great though, so I can't complain much!!) and Sanaa is delicious! It's worth the trip over there.

LOL, the monorail lady! It really must have been an emergency, I cannot imagine deciding that that would be a good idea

Oh, that would have been a really nice way to spend NYE and watch the fireworks! We were glad we experienced it once, but the crowds were beyond anything I had ever seen. The only thing that is worse is the space between Liberty Square and Frontierland right after a parade.

I totally lost it about the woman peeing by the monorail support beam... :lmao::lmao::lmao:

But ya know what... good for her. And it must've felt amazing if she lit up a cigarette when she was finished! :lmao:
Still laughing here...

I can't help but wonder how long she had been waiting!!

This will be us in just 8 weeks!!! Love the pictures!

OMG!!!! That's insane.

But :rotfl2: over the lady making a "pit stop".

Yay!! 8 weeks! That will fly by!! That's usually the point when I realize we are ACTUALLY GOING :dogdance::dogdance:

They should maybe put port-a-potties by the roadside on days like that :rotfl2:

Glad to hear we are not the only ones who ship our kids off to the grandparents for Spring Break!

Oye!
Ha! I have heard that Elsa is sooo dramatic!

:rotfl2:

Very Pretty!

It looks good, at least. Sorry that it wasn't great.

Yum! Both cupcakes looked delish!

I was going to say perfect because of all of the pre-planning that you did... But... apparently not....

This reminded me of a toy we had given to us when my oldest was a baby, and it said animal names with a british accent. It was hilarious. The lady said Za-Bra instead of Zebra, and we used to say Morgan was going to learn the word with a british accent.

Yikes! That driver was a little crazy!

I can't wait! These are the things I love to see. Guess that is why I read everyones trip reports!

Conditioner!!! Amazing!!! But seriously, we just stayed at a moderae and it was find but they gave us bar soap. Blek!

I have seen this room! Our very first trip we went to BOMA and went to the wrong building and wondered in there. It was a nice room!

So, yummy!

So, again, as I was reading this, I was thinking those poor people that had been waiting an hour before you even got there. But the kicker comes later!

Desperate times, calls for desperate measures I guess.

She might of wanted to look for a better place! I love that your whole bus was entertained by it!

OMG!!! I think I would have gone crazy!!! So, it took you 2-1/2 hours! And those poor other people took 3-1/2 hours?

Amazing that you made it!

We got lucky this year...their grandmother is a teacher in a neighboring state, and for the past few years their spring break hasn't lined up with ours. They've been able to go for a weekend of it, or stay for one school day and go with her to her classroom, but they were all excited to get some extra days in! They came home early b/c we were supposed to go on a day trip today, but DH ended up having a huge presentation scheduled for Monday, so we had to push it back.

I was disappointed by everything but those cupcakes. I guess bad dinner/good dessert is an acceptable trade off?? :rotfl:

Za-bras and jee-ruffs!! I love it!

Haha, the driver was really nice, but he was terrible at his job!

After two nights of no conditioner or lotion, I was way more excited about it than I needed to be, LOL!!

The whole bus experience was like a SNL skit or something! The waiting, the crowded bus, the peeing lady...it was just nuts all around! I have never been so happy to get anywhere in my entire life. And then running into the wall-o-people at bag check :faint: To say I was a little stressed is an understatement!

Oooohhhhh I feel you there.

This make me eye twitch to look at. My least favourite place to be during a crowded Disney day.

Hah! Yeah, when we were there we had a FP for this and I had a frozen lemonade in my hand, and I asked the CM if I wasn't allowed to take it with me, and he was like "You can't take it on the ride, but you've got over two hours to finish it..."

:rotfl:

:lovestruc:lovestruc

Yes.

We saw these when we were there! So much pizzazz for a cupcake!

...uh oh.

I LOVE this! I've been casually trying to slip it into conversations ever since you mentioned this in a comment a while back. :lovestruc

I know just where you mean, because I've had to yell at Nathan not to miss this split when we've been driving before! ...uh oh..doesn't sound good...

Agreed! Such a beautiful living room :lovestruc

Oh my gosh! This is the dream!

Of course you did!

Woah!!

My mouth is watering. Nom!

I think this looks like the Braaivleis. That's what I at there last time. A selection of grilled meats. I think the middle one is lamb, and the sausage might contain beef and pork? Anyway, it was good. :goodvibes

Your ears are adorable. :lovestruc

NOO! Oh my gosh!!

What a classy lady.

NO. WAY.

That's sooo wild!!

Ah, Fantasyland crowds, the stuff nightmares are made of! It's a people funnel! There are three worse things I can think of: The bridge on the Tomorrowland side of the castle leading to FL immediately before, during, and after the Main Street Electrical Parade (I still have flashbacks), Liberty Square/Frontierland by the water after the afternoon parade, especially if you're trying to get to HM, and the Adventureland walkway in Disneyland at about 2pm. Oh, four things - France during NYE, which is coming in the next update!

I want some of the cupcake glitter for home...I shall sprinkle it on everything and make even the most boring meals look spectacular!!

AKL has grown on me so much since we first popped in to check things out in 2016 - everything there makes me happy - food choices, views, decor...I wish it was closer
That may have been what he ordered...I don't remember it having a specific name, but the description sounds right.

Thank you! I think they're Ear Bowtique ears? Maybe Be Ear Guest, but I'm pretty sure Ear Bowtique - that was my preferred shop at the time, I got them before Disneyland a couple years ago. I never catch her openings anymore, so Be Ear Guest has been my source for quite awhile now.

That lady :rotfl2:She kept us entertained, and what more could a crowded bus ask for?? The roads kind of looked like the opening scene of La La Land - people were out of their cars and wandering around...no song and dance though, sadly.

We all erupted in cheers when we finally arrived!

Love the animations!

~DVC Greg
#dvcrentals

Thanks!!

I just pictured you standing around arms crossed, in a Southside Serpents jacket, looking moody and saying this for some reason

Did they just move the Tomorrowland DJ to a more prominant position? I always see people halfheartedly dancing in Tomorrowland :rotfl:

Ooo that looks yummy.

On one of our Uber trips back to CSR we had the Uber driver ask me where to turn, like he was at a sign and he's like is this the right way to go? I was like I don't know! Considering they have GPS's and live there, I always get confused when we end up on the wrong place or they ask me where to go. I don't even know how to give directions in my hometown :rotfl:

Spa water at AKL :lovestruc

I love the butter chicken :lovestruc Not sure if it's true, but I heard for a couple more dollars you can get double meat.

:rotfl:

Pretty accurate :rotfl: Have they cast the role of Jellybean?? I could be Jellybean! I'll just regress in age like 20 years!

Haha, like for the Tomorrowland dance parties?? Those are always so funny during parties, and in the summer! They had one at California Adventure when we were there, and people were actually dancing at that one. I"m not sure if it was the same DJ, but he was like up in front of the castle. I couldn't see him from where we were, but he was really trying to get the crowd pumped up. But he kept to his NYE script, even though it was the night before. Every now and then he'd say something like, practice for tomorrow, but I think he kept forgetting and would fall back into what he was supposed to say the next night.

We took another uber over to the Grand Floridian and he asked us if we were in the right place, too! How should I know where to turn?? (i mean, in that case it was super obvious and there were signs everywhere, so why he was asking us was a mystery). He was even telling us how he tries to stay in the Disney area for more rides, so?? I don't understand them ending up in the wrong places either, it's not like things aren't marked fairly well. Even if GPS is taking you somewhere off path, you'd think they'd know some basics.

I know you love spa water!! This one was kind of orangey/cinnamony like Christmas.

Yum, I will try that next time. Double the meat and then a stroller to roll me out of there :rotfl:It would be worth it!

Hi! I remember you from our October 2017 thread.

sniff, sniff - I'm having a case of the sads the last few days. No Disney trips for us until 2020. :(

Enjoying visiting vicariously through your report!

Hello and welcome! Yep, that's me from October. I survived that trip and came back for more, LOL!! I don't have any trips on the horizon either, it's the first time in 5 years I'm not planning a Disney trip  We are going to San Francisco and Northern CA this summer, so that's what I'm in the middle of working on right now. It's not the same though!

:wizard: So glad you had that special moment.
That's Disney for ya ;)

:rotfl2:

I know that I, for one, did NOT.

That's the saddest sentence, ugh.

I hear that

OMG :scared1:

This looks SO amazing. I'll have 10.

I was pretty close to creating a scene by belting out Memories, right there in the middle of the crowd :rotfl:

I'm much more of a 6:30 kind of person, LOL!!

Oh my gosh, just wait until you see the picture of France. It was insane.

.4 miles, for real!! We'd get a really nice Minnie Van driver the next night who took us into the parking garage and dropped us off at the Pumbaa elevator b/c he'd picked up a guy during the Wine and Dine half who told him his room was half a mile away, so I felt like that backed up what I found when I clocked it on my watch!

Sanaa food is the BEST food. Why can't I ever find naan anywhere else that's as delicious as this??

I am kind of surprised Disney Pee Lady didn't become a meme! That wasn't something I wanted to get in on. My squirrel-touching-my-foot-screaming-in-Epcot moment last May was bad enough :rotfl:

As bad as the bus situation was, it could have been way worse!!

Wilderness Lodge is my faaaaavorite, but AKL is really special. I would be disappointed about missing out on what I wanted to book too, but if you had to be stuck somewhere else, AKL is a good place! The only downside is having to take the bus everywhere! I miss having other options.

Pretty accurate :rotfl: Have they cast the role of Jellybean?? I could be Jellybean! I'll just regress in age like 20 years!

Jellybean is now Jughead's older sister :rotfl:

We took another uber over to the Grand Floridian and he asked us if we were in the right place, too! How should I know where to turn?? (i mean, in that case it was super obvious and there were signs everywhere, so why he was asking us was a mystery). He was even telling us how he tries to stay in the Disney area for more rides, so?? I don't understand them ending up in the wrong places either, it's not like things aren't marked fairly well. Even if GPS is taking you somewhere off path, you'd think they'd know some basics.

Yeah, he also asked when we were right in front of the sign and before I've had drivers bring us to the wrong location. But what I've never understood is that they know where they're taking you from their app and they usually re-confirm when you get in the car, and I have to assume the drivers that pick up in that area are familiar with driving in Disney, but most of them seem unsure. I don't really know how you could drive for Uber in that area and not mostly do pick ups in the theme park area though.

I know you love spa water!! This one was kind of orangey/cinnamony like Christmas.

Yeah they usually have an apple/cinnamony one, and it's the best one!

Oh, four things - France during NYE, which is coming in the next update!

Uh oh...

I want some of the cupcake glitter for home...I shall sprinkle it on everything and make even the most boring meals look spectacular!!

Everything!!
"Mom, what's for dinner?"
"SPA-GLITTER and meat balls! And it's... FAB-U-LOUS!" :hyper:

I'm pretty sure Ear Bowtique - that was my preferred shop at the time, I got them before Disneyland a couple years ago. I never catch her openings anymore, so Be Ear Guest has been my source for quite awhile now.

Nice! Yeah, kind of looks like her ears. I've never bought from Ear Bowtique. Maybe someday. But I've got a few pairs from Be Ear Guest...and I REALLY need to stop buying more.

The roads kind of looked like the opening scene of La La Land - people were out of their cars and wandering around...no song and dance though, sadly.

:rotfl:

Hello again!

Today is the last day of spring break and I did about zero and a half things I had planned to do this week.

Things I DID do:
- Saw the Strangers movie in the theater (don't waste your time)
- Went to Kansas City to use the tickets to The Art of the Brick I got for DH for Christmas
- Made it over halfway through the first season of Charmed
- Remembered to run the Roomba at least every other day
- Bought an alpaca welcome mat at World Market while in K.C.
- Rolled my eyes REALLY HARD at everyone complaining the new redhead in pirates isn't "pretty anymore" :rolleyes2 Get it together humans, not every woman has to meet your standards of beauty.

So really, not much! We will keep moving on NYE instead...

Chapter Four Part Three

We finished Soarin' around the world and left The Land building to see...

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

People!

We slooowly made our way out, skipping Figment b/c his line was out the door, and found a moment of peace

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

We wouldn't find much of that for the rest of the night!

People were finding spots on the grass to wait for fireworks...I hope they were wearing sunscreen

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

Because of the rush to get inside and barely making it to our Soarin' Fast Pass, and then the longer than normal wait in the FP line, we knew we wouldn't have time to use our final FP for Spaceship Earth and still make it to our 4:30 dinner in time, so we just decided to go ahead and go to the World Showcase. We started on the UK side, with our ultimate goal of making it to Chefs de France

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

As you can see, we had company! This wasn't too bad, considering.

We got one more glimpse of calm

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

These inflatable thingies were set up in different countries:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

New Year's Eve! Party Time! Woo!

party:

I wasn't feeling very "Party! Woo", more like, "Oh God, what have we done?", but luckily you could still duck into shops and doorways

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

We spent quite a bit of time in the UK pavilion, and picked up a souvenir for L, the 12 year old. He loves Dr. Who, so UK is always an easy spot to find something good for him!

After our time there, we needed to go straight to Chefs de France. We bravely walked back outside

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

and somehow managed to get to our reservation

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

Both of us were really looking forward to this meal, it was new to both of us. Unfortunately, I wasn't all that hungry after our Sanaa lunch.

We had a great view of...leaves

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

Not exactly on par with Sanaa in terms of view, but we were seated quickly in the midst of the insanity outside, so leaves were fine.

One of the things I had planned to order was the French Onion Soup. However, I was warm from our walk through the crowds with the sun shining. The air was cool outside, but the sun was hot. It was also hot inside the restaurant, so the thought of eating hot soup made me feel kind of :crazy2:

Instead, DH and I shared the cheese board

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

This was actually great! Sometimes cheese plates can be a little hit or miss in terms of flavor/edibility - but all of these were easy to eat and tasty with their accompaniments.

I ordered the salmon, thinking it would be the smart choice since I wasn't starving...

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

Not a smart choice. It was so boring and blah. The sauce was the best part. I don't recommend this. There was no flavor here at all.

We had ordered the wine pairing, but never received it. We reminded our waiter, who said, "Oh yes", but still never brought it. I guess he didn't think we needed wine.

DH ordered the filet, and I was pretty jealous of his plate:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

We thought about ordering dessert after we saw how good they looked, but decided to skip it since one of my Must Do things that night was to get a macaron ice cream sandwich from Artisans de Glace. We paid and DH said he wanted to go see Impressions de France. Here's what we found outside:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

Somehow we managed to make it up there, and into a full house showing of Impressions de France.

When it ended, I wanted to get my macaron ice cream sandwich, but when we got over to Artisans de Glace, the line was all the way out of the France pavilion.

Let's just cross that off the list for now!

But you know, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

This calls for a cocktail or two, right? Lucky for us they were selling them literally on every corner. We chose the corner of Morocco. We got in line behind a super drunk guy who informed us these drinks were amazing. With the skill of a practiced professional, he managed to pull a sober face as he ordered his drink limit, and then it was our turn.

You better believe I sprung for a light up glass for mine

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

DH didn't want the light up glass, but I made him hold mine while I photographed his drink:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

We chugged our drinks (they were pretty small, ok? Don't judge! I didn't even get wine with dinner, it's totally fine!) and decided to spend some time in Japan before the 6:30 Illuminations

https://www.flickr.com/photos/143888229@N08/

All for now! I'll finish up our NYE a little later!

I got the French onion soup early December, 9pm reservation, cool weather. That sucker was HOT! I finally finished it AFTER my entree. Glad it was a little less crowded for our trip. Holy moley, that's a mob!

My god, the crowdssss!! You guys were troopers about it! I'm sorry dinner wasn't too impressive, Glad you enjoyed your drinks though!

I have to admit, your pictures do not make me want to go to Disney for New Year's Eve. But sounds like you guys are making the best of it.

I wasn't feeling very "Party! Woo", more like, "Oh God, what have we done?"
Yeah... I said that a lot during our January trip, too  Also, several "never agains" :rotfl: I love Disney more than almost anything, but there were definitely many moments of frustration over the crowds this trip!

Bummer on your salmon, and for not getting your ice cream sandwich - hopefully you got something else really yummy later that night :thumbsup2

I abandoned this thing! But never fear, I WILL be coming back to finish it up!!

Tuesday we leave for San Francisco and northern California, but when I get back I am going to finish up this TR, because I can't leave it alone anymore.

I got busy and didn't log in to Disboards...and every day I didn't log in made it easier to continue to avoid it...and then thinking about finishing the TR felt like a chore. I think a lot of it was b/c I was Disney depressed for real this time because i had no idea when I'd be going back.

But...we are booked for another trip. I know I said we'd never do NYE again, but apparently that was false, b/c that's when we're going back. Staying at the Polynesian...which if you read my October report might surprise you, b/c I had no intention of going back there either! It will be all four of us, and the kids are very excited. We have one goal for the trip - update our castle pictures because both boys are taller than me now :scared1:

I'm going to go scroll through some posts, try to read some TRs, and then get back to this one after we return from San Francisco late next week!! I've missed everyone!!

Yay!! That's awesome you're going back for NYE!! You must have enjoyed it enough to go back during that time. CAn't wait to hear the rest about your trip!

Chapter Four Part Four

(ok, i have a little time, I'll add another NYE section)

When I left off like...THREE MONTHS AGO...we were in Japan and waiting for the 6:30pm version of New Year's Eve Illuminations at Epcot. Crowds were insane, but we were hanging in there.

All things considered, it wasn't a bad spot. We had a light post to kind of lean up against. Only a couple of people almost spilled drinks on us so...hooray?

Illuminations was beautiful (I love Illuminations, but rarely make time to see it. I hadn't watched since July 2015 I think?? Is it sad I don't remember if I saw it any time last year??)

By the way, the Illuminations holiday tag that everyone raves about?? One million percent worth the hype ::yes::

DH and I were over New Year's Eve at Epcot by this point. Now it was basically just about survival and getting out alive. We passed through the United States...

(How pretty is this tree?? I love it!)

Let's keep moving...we've gotta get out of this place. Would you like to see why??

Go to Epcot on New Year's Eve, we said. It'll be fun, we said. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We did pause for one little thing though...

The Romantic Road selfie was just necessary. Even if it is overly dark.

We cruised past China and their mega dance party. Well, I did stop to watch for a couple of minutes b/c there was a cool dragon thing.

More crowds through Norway on the way toward Mexico...

If you notice the white inflatable thing in the distance in the last photo, it says exit to Future World. There was a bypass behind Mexico open and leading everyone toward the front of the park. That's where we were headed.

There wasn't a lot of cool things to see along the bypass aside from a GINORMOUS stack of kegs outside from the restaurants in the Mexico pavilion.

I managed to sneak two pictures before getting yelled at when I tried to get pics of the Test Track cars in a garage.

We popped out behind Test Track and discovered the crowds were ever-so-slightly less intense in Future World, but not by much.

I stopped to gawk a little at Silent Groove (the quiet dance party...only the people wearing the headphones could hear the music)

by

and check out the clock projected up onto Spaceship Earth:

by

And this one is blurry b/c I was walking, but you can *sort of* see that the wait time for Spaceship Earth was 200 minutes, which I can't decide is awful or not as bad as I thought it should be.

We made it to the front! We survived!!

We said goodbye to Holiday Stitch

And our best pals Mickey and Minnie:

Before walking to the bus stop and making a break for freedom.

Remember how the bus ride TO the park took over two hours??

Yeah, we were back at Kidani in about 20 minutes - traffic was non-existant.

All the tips I'd read for New Year's Eve suggested heading to the park in the early afternoon...I guess everyone else followed that advice. If I was giving tips for how to handle it, I'd say go in the morning and just tough it out all day in the park, OR go to MK or Epcot via monorail or ferry from a resort around 7:30pm. Don't try going at noon via bus, car, uber, or Minnie Van. I know by waiting that late you might risk getting into MK b/c of capacity closures, but people WILL exit after the first 6:30 fireworks.

Anyway....

We took the bus back to Kidani, but got off at the Jambo House stop first. More on that the next time I update (which could be immediately, or a week from now, we'll see!)

There was a bypass behind Mexico open and leading everyone toward the front of the park. That's where we were headed.

I loved when they had this up, and it looks really pretty at night! I didn't get to see it at night when we went.

I stopped to gawk a little at Silent Groove (the quiet dance party...only the people wearing the headphones could hear the music)

I still think it looks so odd :rotfl:

I loved when they had this up, and it looks really pretty at night! I didn't get to see it at night when we went.

I still think it looks so odd :rotfl:

I just saw that they have a new thing inside, the Mirror de los Muertos I think it's called, where you can turn yourself into a skeleton and save the pictures with Memory Maker. I'm glad they still have the Coco stuff inside, and I really hope it stays!

It was the weirdest thing! I don't know what music they were listening to, like if it was the DJ that was playing on the stage or what, but none of them were dancing to the beat of that music, so if it was the same it was on a delay or ahead or something. Nothing like watching a bunch of people in headphones bopping around really off time to the music that was blasting through the rest of the area :rotfl:

Welcome back! Enjoy your upcoming vacation!

Holy crowds, that is insane lol but I'm glad you enjoyed Illuminations and didn't hit traffic going back to your resort!

I just saw that they have a new thing inside, the Mirror de los Muertos I think it's called, where you can turn yourself into a skeleton and save the pictures with Memory Maker. I'm glad they still have the Coco stuff inside, and I really hope it stays!

Ooo I can't wait to do that! I saw a cool Coco thing behind glass last time we were there that I think was it, but I'm pretty sure that was before it was operational.

I feel like I read somewhere that people had a choice of 2 stations to listen to or something? Or maybe they all got to pick their own music? Either way it does look odd.

Illuminations was beautiful (I love Illuminations, but rarely make time to see it. I hadn't watched since July 2015 I think?? Is it sad I don't remember if I saw it any time last year??)

I love this show too. Classic.

By the way, the Illuminations holiday tag that everyone raves about?? One million percent worth the hype ::yes::

Is it the same one they have at Christmas? I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would too!

Go to Epcot on New Year's Eve, we said. It'll be fun, we said. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Whoa!!
Well you guys are going back, so it can't be THAT bad, right? :)

I stopped to gawk a little at Silent Groove (the quiet dance party...only the people wearing the headphones could hear the music)

That is hilarious! It's like those people dancing to their headphones in the bus or trains..but en mass!

Remember how the bus ride TO the park took over two hours??

Yeah, we were back at Kidani in about 20 minutes - traffic was non-existant.

Crazy, never would have expected that! But yay!
