Hi all! My husband and I are headed to Disney next week on our first overnight "adults only" trip since our Disneymoon 6 years ago! *happy dance* We're at Disney about every month with our kiddos but we rarely stay late. Trying to take the opportunity to do some after-dark things. We have never done the Tangled Lantern Photo. I've heard that the line starts forming pretty early on. Does anyone have any experience with this? What time should we get in line? I'm willing to wait to get this photo! And where exactly does the line form? I've seen conflicting info about the exact location.

Thanks!

During crazy Easter week in April we went after the fireworks (park was open until midnight) and waited about 20 minutes in line. It was worth it! We found the line to be along the railing near the Tangled bathrooms.

Yay! This was a must-do for me. We were there the end of January, and were like the third people in line. I think the line started forming 15 or so minutes before sunset, and was quite long once it was actually dark. When we were there, you took the photos directly in front of the main bathroom 'tower', but on the other side of the circular thing in the middle, lol. I think there's a little picnic area off to the side, and the photos happened right in front of the entrance. The photo below is basically where the photopass photographer stood. The line formed off to the left.

Our picture time stamp say 8:12pm (not sure if that is timezone for FL or at home :confused3) on April 9 and there were about 3-5 groups in front of us when they opened. I agree with @winnieofpooh about locations - this was the same for us. Set up in the entrance here and the line was to the left. You can see the door to the main tower just over our shoulders.MK_RAPUNZELLANTERNSC_20180410_410787021552.jpgMK_RAPUNZELLANTERNSC_20180410_410787021561.jpg (sorry these are so big!)

We were there towards the end of May, the line was insane. Like 40-50 people deep, and this was about 25 min before fireworks. We didn't wait because we weren't sure what the line was for, haha, but it was extremely popular.

I don't think it's a FP item just a normal photo pass opportunity. We just did ours, on our trip around the end of May Memorial Day Weekend. We did it right after HEA and the lines were pretty easy and moved fast. We only had one big family, and they all wanted individual photos, that took the longest. Not blaming them as I wanted individual as well, so will everyone else. There weren't a lot of people taking their own photos buggering up the line that I noticed, for example the people that need to take a shot from every angle during a character photo opportunity.

I’ve never heard of this. Is this a limited time only? Can you use a FP+?

It's been around for over a year now I think? It was technically introduced as "limited time only" but seeing as it's still happening, I'd imagine it stays for a while. And no, you can't FP it, unfortunately. It's just like any other photopass opportunity.

MK. If you've never been to the Rapunzel potty you must go. It's lovely. Used to be the prettiest potty at WDW but the Frozen potty is now a rival. I still think Rapunzel wins. They even put in her tower

We haven't been to WDW in nearly 6 years. I am so excited! I love pretty potties.

The line goes quick but just be prepared when people want a million different shots with it. Be patient, and enjoy it’s a great photo for your families.

Thank you, everyone! I think we will maybe get a snack and get in line super early because it sounds/looks like it will totally be worth it. And without 5 kiddos in tow I absolutely do not mind waiting around doing nothing. Haha!
