I'm staying at Coronado.

Okay, someone please help me. This morning I woke up and went to go shower and there it was---the biggest cockroach on the face of the Earth sitting in my sink.

I have never ever seen an insect that large. It was part cockroach, part pterodactyl. I screamed for my life. My husband came in to the bathroom and killed it. Now I'm freaked out. I keep thinking that I'm going to see another one. Please, what was that thing? Should I tell the front desk? Should I buy some Raid? I'm scared.

Oh Lordy. Growing up in AZ it was normal to experience scorpions, black widows and tarantulas fairly regularly but for some reason I am deathly afraid of cockroaches. I’ve never seen one at WDW (fingers crossed) but would absolutely lose it to see one in my room. Shouldnt have opened this thread! :wave2:

I found this guy creeping along the floor in our Pop Century room last November. Centipede maybe? I wasn’t particularly happy to have it sharing our room...I relocated it outside.

Oh my word!!! Tarantulas???? :scared::scared::scared: I would be a goner at first sight! I live in GA, so lizards and scorpions (however much smaller than AZ scorpions) are a frequent occurrence. They even end up in the house occasionally! But I have a huge fear of spiders......so seeing a tarantula would just push me over the edge

They are common here in South Carolina too and the only thing that makes me totally lose it! :crazy2:Will never get used this them. Gross! I’m so sorry OP! Usually you only see one though. Probably won’t happen again.

Same here! Roaches and snakes just freak me out every time. Roaches are disgusting and I think they can spread disease.
I've never seen one in any room I've ever had at WDW and hope I never will!:tiptoe:

OP, I'd call for pest control asap!

On this same note - I saw the BIGGEST dragonfly I have ever seen when I was at Pop a few years ago - it was on the wall in the stairway and it was gorgeous! I got a pic of my hand next to it and it is bigger than my hand!

Florida - where everything is bigger, bite-ier, and snake-ier.

They are also called waterbugs. They seek out water when it is dry outside. So if Orlando hasn't gotten the rain the rest of the state has gotten so far, they are seeking water.

We have gotten the rain . . .we needed it too.

OP, I would let someone know so their pest control can come and do a treatment.

Makes sense. We were sitting on the GF dock watching Wishes and one crawled out from under a board :scared:

Seeing a big increase in them in Atlanta. Never saw here before but we've had so much rain for years ... maybe they swim here.

They are not the "cockroaches" that infest due to filth and are so disgusting to think about.

But yes they are HUGE and harmless. But it's Florida with lots of unlovable critters and bugs.

Oh yes. In fact we had two different tarantulas as pets because they got in the house and my mom decided to keep them. Ugh!

I live a little north of Atlanta and we've seen a huge increase in these bugs. They don't do anything, and we only see them when it's really hot, but I still don't like them.
