“Official” 2018 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party – Strategy and Itinerary Thread

Sorry, I guess I'm just not sure how this thread works. Has anyone completed what you've requested yet? Looking for an idea of what we're supposed to do here?

Do you want us to list our party date, size, arrival and departure times plus everything we hope to accomplish and when? We visit WDW often but this being our first party I have zero idea how much time to allocate to each event/ride, etc.

Okay I need your help. Going to party with very dear friend to celebrate a very special birthday on Oct 30th. Is there anything exceptional that we need to make sure we do to help make her day extra special? Need help trying to plan the night. I know it'll be crowded.

Character meets are Queen of Hearts Lotso, Seven Dwarfs. If time cruella, fab 3.

Parade is a must along with fireworks and horus pocus - just like every other person attending the party. Probably leaning towards last Hocus Pocus of the evening.

We want every possible magic shot. And I'd like to see the butler outside of the Haunted Mansion and the gravediggers for sure. If the cadaver Dans are singing Halloween songs I'd love to see them but last year they didn't so I don't know how important they are.

Trick or treating can be done as we passed the stations. It's not a high priority. Taking time to try some of the special tea party only Foods would be more important need a little time for shopping for the party only merchandise. I remember last year that I tried to buy things at 4 with my wristband but they weren't available at that time. I think I had to wait until the official start of the party to buy them.

Not sure how important rides are other than mine train Big Thunder Mountain and Haunted Mansion.

Anyway, not sure how to plan out the evening. we've both been to a party before so that does help. thanks much and look forward to your suggested itinerary. Thanks for this service. Last year it really helped a lot when I went with my DH.

Priorities(and scared we can’t get them all in and I’m no particular order):
Moana
Capt jack sparrow
Early parade
Hocus Pocus
Fireworks
Trick or treat lines(at least a couple)
And if possible (but doubtful since I’m not even sure all the ABOVE) is possible), Lotso and Jafar.
Anybody got any ideas how I can make this work? We’ve never been and not sure how long things will take. Figure DH and DD can get us something to eat while we wait in line for either Moana or jack

This is a big decision because Jack & Sally and Moana are both popular. I believe Moana's line hardly saw the light of day. I recommend seeing her first and possibly meeting Jack & Sally later in the evening so we'll focus on that... at least for now.

4:00 - 6:00 Moana - WE have to assume she'll be meeting at 5:45pm but we'll know by the first party.

Tag Team: Specialty Treats - Remember some were reported Sold Out by 6:30 you might want to jet off to Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Tomorrowland first.

6:35 - 7:15 Queen of Hearts & Tweedles
Tag Team: You only have 30 minutes, perhaps Sleepy Hallow Treat?
7:20 - 7:45 Cruella
7:55 - 8:45 Butler Broome, Magic Shots, one right after the other heading towards Main Street
8:45 - 9:35 9:15 BTY Parade Location? - I recommend Casey's
Tag Team: Jet off and get your SotMK card at the Fire Station, each taking a turn.
9:35 - 10:30 10:15 HalloWishes Location - Immediately after, use the short cut to Tomorrowland and AVOID the hub!.

Yes, please refer to the Character List, I did post times when they came out so that should help you. Also remember your party isn't until October 8th or 9th so we should know more.

I would be remiss if I didn't express concern for your 80 year old mother. My mom passed away last year and I remember what her mobility was at that age, so please allow extra time for her needs. The only question I have is does she really plan on staying for the last Hocus Pocus Show? I'm thinking she'll want to leave after the fireworks. Just a thought.

@Bex258 , @HopperFan , @Cluelyss @OhioStateBuckeye I have ZERO experience when and where for Hocus Pocus, IF Disney keeps the same schedule as last year:

Hours: Aug & Sept 8:15 p.m., 10:45 p.m. and 12 a.am.
Oct & Nov 7:40 p.m., 8:35 p.m., 10:45 p.m., 12:00 a.m.
Duration: 20 minutes

How much time should someone allow for each showing and where are the best views especially for parents with kids or for those of us who are 5'2"? Please include your thoughts on non sold out as well as sold out parties.

It's almost my time! I should probably revisit this schedule...
Humm, Yep looks good. Later plans changed so I have an extra day on my park pass, use it or lose it, so I'm showing up at MK earlier than originally planned. Hopefully not too far after noon. Also I've pick up a hitchhiking ghost! A good friend who's an Orlando native is joining me. I gave up on the full costume concept, but I'm Disney Bounding Wreck It Ralph. Weather is looking acceptable. Tickets are still available so it's not a sell out yet, Packing is almost complete. All systems are go.

First of all to the party solo adventurer!

Good news and bad news lets talk about the bad, in 2017 Saturday Sept. 24 and Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 both sold out on the day of the party. There are various reasons for this which include discounts for CM's, Military and AP holders and possibly the weather. Your date Tuesday, Sept. 25th is currently a discounted ticket, only time will tell if this will sell out but the possibility is there.

Good news, your plan looks great and easy flowing. Hopefully Disney will release what specialty treats they'll be offering soon, I would follow that trail and hit up the rides by those locations. We'll work on your plan more as soon as we hear from Disney. Please note, the Haunted Mansion desserts they had last year sold out by 6:30 at some locations.

Quick question, is there a reason you'll be arriving at MK at 5pm instead of the recommended 3:30-3:45?

Our dates are October 27th to November 3rd.


We just bought the MNSSHP for October 30th~~ NO Rain please

No real itinerary as we just like to go with the flow and enjoy the ambiance.
