Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, It's off to run we go! A new and improved Teetz running Journal

No running news...

So I still haven't done a lot of running. Pre-Spring Break school has been busy as well as working and now of course March Madness. Next week I will be in Walt Disney World! From 3/19 - 3/23 I will be at WDW spending Spring Break somewhere much warmer than Wisconsin. I am staying at All-Star Sports just a cheap AP discounted room that I probably won't spend much time in. I am excited to check out Flower and Garden for the first time. I am hoping to get a run in while there but due to the heat they will probably be very early and not very long. I also want to stop at Fit2Run at Disney Springs and check out new shoes. I was talking to someone who said they do run deals there many times which surprised me because it is a Disney location.

As for this week I finished up school and now am officially on Spring Break. Yes I know it is still Friday but my one class was cancelled today because my professor said he'd rather be watching March Madness which is 100% okay with me! I also happened to win $22 in class on Wednesday by answering a Disney related question. We had a guest speaker in my class and the question was where are these Disney castles located on the screen. It was Cinderella Castle in WDW, Sleeping Beauty Castle in DLR, and Sleeping Beauty Castle in DLP. I then got to pick a prize box at the end and low and behold $22 dollar bills were in it after I counted it all.

I am spending the weekend watching nothing but basketball in our man cave of a basement with a full spread of food and five TVs.

Enjoy your break!
ETA I'm extremely jealous you are on spring break. I have two more weeks and the students are literally climbing walls today and 5 teachers called off to watch basketball lol.

Thanks! When I was in high school the Thursday and Friday of March Madness we would literally do nothing in class except watch basketball. I was happy to have a professor now that just cancelled so I didn't have to watch in class lol.

Have a great Spring Break Trip, Flower & Garden is awesome! I wish I had classes back when that I won $$ in, that's way cool!

Better late than never!

Hooray for spring break, winning $22 bucks, march madness, and leaving for F&G in 2 days! Have a blast!!!

35 more days for me....can't wait!

Following! Or, at least, doing my best to...

I remember when I got into running 7-8 years ago I had a seriously tough time getting motivated and staying motivated. It was a lot of getting (moderately) into shape, prolonged absences from working out, starting over again, rinse, repeat... What I found was getting signed up for races was really helpful in keeping me motivated (mostly out of fear of being embarrassed by being under-trained). There are SO MANY races in the Milwaukee area to check out.

I'm guessing with you planning to do something for marathon weekend this might not be of interest to you, but some time consider checking out the Lakefront Marathon. I did it last October and it was a really solid course. I've done Warrior Dash in Johnson Creek (I think) and the Samson Stomp at Milwaukee County Zoo. I think the Brewers also run a race that finishes in Miller Park.

Anyway, have fun in Disney next week. Our first trip as a family was (I think) during Wine & Dine. All I really remember was the really cool topiaries.

Yeah it would be better if I signed up for more races. Winter sucks here. I hate running in below 25 degrees.

I am looking into the Brewers Mini Marathon not sure I would want to do a Full before WDW though with the Lake Front.

Thanks!

Yeah, the timing isn't awesome if you're planning to do a full marathon weekend. But, it's a race worth checking out in an "off" year.
