@wendow Timberline is still open as of now :)

I'm happy to hear that! We currently fly out on Apr 11th at 5:25am. Too early for a bison burger or ribeye :( I'm thinking about moving our flight to the 6pm the night before but it means my mom has all the kids on her own for an extra night. My mom's not terribly 'sturdy' and my boys are a handful. But I may just make her tough it out cause I want to go to Timberline, and I really am not wanting to fly out at 5 in the morning :)

If you are 4/24 and haven't applied for any other Chase cards in the last 30 days, you would be fine to apply for the CIP. If you haven't had a Chase card in even longer than 30 days, even better. If you have sold on CL and eBay, it sounds like you have a 'business' :)

For plastiq, all payments are currently coding 3x. However, mortgages are tricky. Visa and Amex do not allow mortgage payments and have blacklisted banks and mortgage companies. So people are trying to figure out ways to get payments through with 'creative' addressing of their payments. I would think there would be options for you to get yours through, and we are happy to help you brainstorm ways to do so.

thank you for clarifying a few things. I was hoping that since it was a business card it was treated differently. i will do a little thinking on what my next step should be. thanks againl

Hello everyone.

WOW!!! It took me a while to read over what i had missed from last week. lol.... I could use some more help. This is for the people that have used CIP and Plastiq. Does plastiq need to be altered when using CIP to pay for the mortgage? I have PennyMac mortgage and was curious how this all works. I was able to use plastiq only once with my CSR before it was stopped. I have sold some stuff on ebay and craigslist so i could maybe get the CIP. Just wasn't sure if because its a visa that it would not work. i am currently 4/24. thanks
Wells Fargo Mortage just went through. Coded as 3x on CIP.
Remember to use dischurners links when applying if you don’t already have accounts set up.

On of my cards was hacked at Boardwalk a bunch of years ago. I just stopped putting a card on the account after that. I think the charge it to your room thing is over hyped. I used to do it all the time and Disney never had my account up to date. Also, in the past I ended up with other peoples charges and then you have to spend the phone time. No card is easiest.

It seems to be very specific to the Chase Disney Visa only. I had my CSR attached to my WDW account and did some charges to the room on it, but no issues.

The business card will not be treated any different in terms of getting a mortgage payment through plastiq but there are ways to get creative and I think we could help you do so, if you decide to go for the CIP.

I don't have a Samsung phone so I have no personal experience, but I thought I read that Samsung's been devaluing their points?
Lately i noticed it been harder to earn verses how easy it is to get Ur points, but looking on the positive still points by little to no efforts that can be used.

Thank you, i’d Love your help...you are so good at this stuff!!

We have options for travel....
Anytime this summer (mid May they early Aug), around thanksgiving, or after Christmas until mid Jan (the earlier the better).

I realize I am late on this summer but I started trying to plan this for after Christmas back around New Years and it has just been complicated. Lol Summer would be ideal. Next summer (2019) we have DCL/Alaska, so if we can’t do the above dates in 2018, we will have to hold on Hawaii til holidays 2019.

We have about 330k UR, 500k Hilton,
And I am working on spending for 35k SPG. I could also buy another 30k thru today and may do that. I think for SWA we are down to prob under 20k all combined. (ETA: we have a CP for SW)

We are traveling from BNA. There are 6 of us (2 parents, 18, 10, 8, 2). Will need 2 rooms so I was looking at Hyatt (20k x 2= 40k a night). Not sure if that’s best or not. Can always split a stay and use Hilton points.

My hubs wants to do Maui. I’d love to split with aulani. I am flexible though. Must be on the beach and a great pool would be nice.

I have tried following TPG tutorial on Korean skypass but can’t get any other airlines to show up on the Alaska site when I look for availability...even for cash. And I know they fly BNA to OGG and HNL b/c I can pull it up on google flights. This is where I get annoyed. Ha!

I’m not opposed to (and maybe prefer) an overnight on the west coast btwn legs. Might help with the little one.

Thanks for any insight!

Generally speaking, most use Korean to book Hawaii on Delta. First, you need to make sure you have your Korean Skypass family account created first. You have to send in proof of relationships, like a copy of your marriage license etc.

Once that process is done you would search Delta for saver space. Do the search for 5 weeks at a glance. You ar looking for saver space which is the 22.5k miles each way. When you find the flights with that mileage amount on Delta, click on the date to find the corresponding flight. Write down the details. Then, log on to your Korean Skypass account. Make sure “International Flights”, “Award Booking” and “SkyTeam Award” are selected. Then click “Find Flights”. Then find nd the flights that match your Delta search and they will price out at 25k RT.

I’m uncertain which airline you are trying to find on the AS website to fly to Hawaii besides AS. Then again, I may be misunderstanding your meaning. AS flies to Hawaii and if you are looking to see if they have saver space that you can book with Korean you will want to search for those flights on American. AS will offer more saver awards for their own frequent flyer account holders and the same space may not be bookable on a partner. Search for the AS saver awards by looking for them on AA. If the award is on AA, then it should be able to be booked by Korean.

Hope this helps.

CARD ACTIVITY

Personal Cards

An estimated 353 cards opened among 49 respondents (due to the ranges in the higher categories it’s not possible to get an exact number). That is an average of over 7 cards per person! Detail below:
  • 1 Card = 1 person
  • 2 Cards = 5 people
  • 3 Cards = 6 people
  • 4 Cards = 6 people
  • 5 Cards = 7 people
  • 6 Cards = 4 people
  • 7 Cards = 4 people
  • 8 Cards = 4 people
  • 9 Cards = 1 people
  • 10-15 Cards = 6 people
  • 16-20 Cards = 4 people
  • 26-30 Cards = 1 person
Business Cards
40 people report opening at least 1 business card. 98 total business cards have been opened at an average of almost 2.5 cards per person. Detail below:
  • 1 Card = 12 people
  • 2 Cards = 14 people
  • 3 Cards = 8 people
  • 4 Cards = 3 people
  • 5 Cards = 1 person
  • 8 Cards = 1 person
  • 9 Cards = 1 person
Combined (personal and business) we have opened an estimated 451 cards in the past 24 months (over 9 cards per person). We are definitely “churning hard” as a group!!

SUPPORT LINKS/DISCHURNERS INFO
  • 45 out of 50 respondents are current DISchurners members. 3 said they plan to join, and 2 said they do not plan to join.
  • 34 people have posted support links. 11 others indicated they plan to
  • Of the 45 DISchurners members that responded, 34 people have used a support link. 16 people have actually used 2 or more links and 53 total clicks were reported.
  • 15 people have reported receiving a click (44% of the people who have posted links). Based on the stats from our respondents, a click is valued on average at $137 (which makes sense as different links have different offers).
Thanks to everybody who has supported DISchurners in some fashion - I think it's been a great addition to our little community BUT also hasn't caused us any issues or affected our ability to help each other and new folks to our game!!

So my thoughts on the survey are: (I didn't want to share my thoughts in the data post...so that everybody can formulate their own opinions)

#1) no surprise that Southwest is #1. The Companion Pass is how a lot of people find their way into the game - I bet "How to save money on Southwest flights" is a common google search.

#2) no surprise that SPG/Marriott is #1. We are all kind of obsessed with SPG/Marriott around here. Marriott has been my go-to hotel chain for over a decade, the SPG merger made it even sweeter. I also bet the Swolphin plays a role in that for some people.

#3) URs are the top flex program - I think they earn that spot BUT we also have a number of newer people to the game and with the CIP/CSR/CSP early recommendations, OF COURSE URs are going to be come out on top for those people! Some people didn't even know enough about the other 3 options to vote, which is completely fine :)

#4) We get a TON of cards around here. I happen to know the guy who is in the 26-30 personal category and the 9 biz cards soooo I guess I win :p I won't be up there for long though with our RAPID slow down on card apps though haha.

#5) DISchurners is awesome, it's great that we are giving back to others. 15 people report receiving a click which is so awesome to me! I hope the success of our community continues to grow! ALSO I'll say again - if you haven't gotten a click PLEASE don't feel bad, continue to help others, answer questions and be involved. Obviously there's a bit of random chance to it all but I definitely don't want the last part of the survey to be a discouragement to anybody!!

Why do I feel like the only one on this thread that has never been to Hawaii or has no current plans for Hawaii! I have never really had any desire to go, but Y'all are making me change my mind. lol

I've been wanting to go to Hawaii for years. But always opted for trips to Disney when DD was younger. Now that she is in her second year of college have been rethinking things. I also have been doing research because we are not ones just for beaches . I know at least when we do go we want to go to Haleakala National Park to watch the sun rise.

Has anyone actually been by a Toys R Us to look at their actual products (not just for GoC cards) since they announced they were closing all stores? Thinking DH and I might go today to see if we can find anything good for his eBay business but don't want to waste a trip over there!

Also, about halfway through our CIP spend! Will be shooting for CSR/CSP double dip mid-April I'm thinking.

I drove by ours yesterday and thought about stopping by. Ours was slated for closure in the beginning so I don't know what's happening. It is about a half mile away so maybe I'll try to stop today.

They are no longer selling 3rd party gift cards, or even their own....stores that weren't originally closing will still have a lot of merch and appear the same. Liquidation won't start until the end of next week.

It will also be very very busy!

Great. And now I should figure out if I can squeeze another rewards program to track into the mix. :) Please don't tell me you earn rewards for gas at all? I never paid much attention to Speedway as I only go to one a few times a year and most rewards programs here only earn on the convenience store purchases which we don't usually use. But usually about every other fill up hubby hits the Speedway. If I can get points for gift cards, that might be more lucrative than the Acme program where the best we can do is about $17.

Haha..ikr too many rewards points programs can drive me nuts. But yes definitely get points for gas purchases with Speedway as well as I like it when I get surveys from them to earn say a hundred points. I have an account with them so get to choose which way to earn points for that month. So of course i go with the one that will earn me the most from them. It's especially good when it works in coordination with the CF.

In case some one would want to buy a gift card, Lowes had TRS gift cards yesterday when I was there and card cash sent an email offering them for up to 10% off.
