Hey there,
My fiance and I are older 36 and 42. We would love to have a wedding but honestly we have both done that and we would like to elope and spend our money on a disney honeymoon.
My question is, where can we get married in Orlando ? Something nice but not pricey.
I know Disney has services but its just US we wouldn't have a wedding party or guests, I also am very aware that disney is pricey. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

There is a memories collection that Disney does that is really an elopement package. It does allow guests but only 4 total and many couples don’t have any guests at all. There is also Swan and Dolphin and Bouse of Blues in Disney Springs.

Awesome!! Thank you I will do some research on those. We both love the idea of spending money on the honeymoon not so much the ceremony but having said that Im still a girl... I dont want to do the courthouse thing.. LOL
Not that there is anything wrong with that just my preference.

Yes. We eloped and were married 1/15/18. Stayed the remainder of the week for our honeymoon.

Well we have planned everything and this is our "plan" for now. We live close to Florida (1 hour from panhandle) and we are planning on getting the marriage license ahead of time.
We have booked a stay at Yacht Club and we plan on getting an officiant to meet us at the resort and marry us there. On our balcony or maybe somewhere kind of discrete. It will be just us, two friends and the officiant. I dont forsee this being an issue. Has anyone else done this? Maybe I should start another thread with this info? LOL

You can do this as long as it’s in your room/on your balcony or on like a rented boat. If you do it anywhere on the property, even in the lobby or somewhere off to the side, they *can* stop you/kick you out. I would be sure to do it somewhere super private like your room in order to avoid having your big day spoiled!

THANK YOU this is good info, I have found a park in Orlando that might work for an outside wedding. I was nervous about that!! I dont see Disney kicking anyone out but I wouldnt want any issues. Thats AWKWARD LOL
Thank you again :)

How about a beach elopement? Cocoa Beach is about an hour away (I know, I know) but you can have a relatively affordable ceremony and head back to the parks for some play afterwards. Check out Small Miami Weddings (smallmiamiweddings.com). They specialize in elopements and small, intimate weddings (they go up to Orlando too). Also check out Marriage by Mail (marriagebymail.com). I highly recommend getting your marriage license ahead of time so that you don't have to worry about it during your vacation.

Not too sure the renegade wedding idea is a good one. LOL. But if you're doing the balcony thing, the Grand Floridian is the way to go! With dinner at Victoria and Albert's. :earboy2:

If you are planning to go this route, I strongly suggest you stick to getting married on your hotel room balcony. I *think* this is accepted through Disney. Any other location, without booking a wedding package, you are putting yourselves at risk for breaking the rules. Get a room that has an amazing balcony view & it will be great!!

Is there a way to elope inside Disney (with the parks's permission of course) with an officiant? Preferably in EPCOT. We want to get married in April and do a big party/ceremony in 2022 post-COVID. My brother and son will also be there, so I am not sure what the FL rules are about witnesses. Thanks in advance, you all!

You have to sign a contract with Disney Weddings to get married in the park/on property. You probably could get away with it on property/in your room if you didn't draw too much attention. The dress and gathering would probably give you away. Also, why risk getting shut down.

No, I want to do it above board! Casual and simple. :)

We did the simplest package. Just the two of us. Signed the contract in September. Checked off a few boxes to select floral, location, music and married in January. We were not going to have any guests BUT my oldest ended up attending.

It really is an amazing story. We forgot a piece for our ceremony and I was mid flight when I remembered. My mother went to Southwest airlines and a ticket agent ended up giving my daughter a RT ticket to meet us in Florida so she could deliver the forgotten piece and attend the ceremony. I had NO IDEA until I was in the Poly Lobby to meet the "SW courier". That coupled with our Disney event planner made for the perfect day.

That is a great memory! Thanks for sharing.
It seems like photopass has a small package available to have a Disney professional take a few pictures inside MK.

To get married in the parks you have to go through Disney's Wedding planning process and meet the minimums for that location. They got rid of the different levels of packages last year. Otherwise you could be expelled from the park.

We helped our friends have a undercover wedding at the Treehouse villa that they were staying at... one of ours friends brother did the ceremony, he is a pastor. DH and I provided the cake and bouquet and boutonniere, someone else brought the champagne and glasses, another friend play guitar and did the traditional music. The stood outside next to the Treehouse and River kinda hidden and said their vows, then we went to Disney Springs for Dinner and Celebrating... as far as their clothing, for her a simple sundress and sandals, and for him dressy shorts, and a short sleeve button down... all done...

Some other friends we know got married at Fort Wilderness... they were camping and friend of the family was a notary, they got married on the dock at sunrise, then went for breakfast at Chef Mickeys, and spent the day at MK... It was just them, and the friend and his wife... They got married in matching disney T-shirts, and shorts...She said no one was up and about at that time of the morning, and it took all of like 5 minutes...

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage, Best Wishes for a happy and long life together...
