We are in the final stages of getting ready to book our anniversary trip, we had a bit of a hic-up with DH and I both having the flu... and we missed the time frame on the special package/offer so now we have had to rethink our plan... We were planning 3 nights and 3 full days, Sequoia Lodge in a Golden Forrest room... but there's no to do that now since we missed the offer...

So we are thinking about just staying in Paris and taking the metro to DLP but we really would like to have time to explore both parks. DH thought we could do a 2 day ticket and go on different days? So can the days be used whenever or are they consecutive days?

Coming Back on the train into Paris with Disney bags are we going to be safe... Our friends had a bad experience when they did this in October, walking from the metro to the hotel... while they were not hurt they were pushed around a bit and almost rob if not for a group of restaurant worker coming out and yelling at them to stop.. this is one of the reason we were wanting to stay on site.

Would there be another offer coming soon for May 2018?

Suggestions for a partner hotel? and if we were to use a partner hotel can we still use magical express back to the airport?

Should we just bite the bullet and stay on site, but one less night...

Are you only going to DLP? Or also to Paris? I wouldn't stay in Paris if only going to DLP, it's 45 min by metro. How save it is to walk on the streets with Disney bags depends on where you're staying.
I think all the partner hotels are good and they have a free shuttle. I really like Kyriad because I think their prices are really good for a clean hotel and if you book breakfast while you book, that's cheap too. Never used the shuttle though, we had an annual pass so could park for free

We were originally planning 5 nights in Paris then moving to DLP for 3 nights and going from DLP straight to the airport. But now we were thinking on 8 nights in Paris and day trips to DLP, or some combination of whatever.... We are up in the air now on which hotel....

Is it 45 min's by metro from the airport CDG? what about from Paris near the Louvre or the Marais?

honestly I will still do the slip stay but just not stay at club level. Keep your original plans. Look at the amount of money you would have spent at Golden Forest club level at Sequoia Lodge and spend that same amount in a different way.

Check out the standard rooms at Sequoia Lodge, or even the budget onsite hotels Santa Fe and Cheyenne. I really dont see why you should just cancel staying at Disney.

We really wanted to stay club level...but I want to stay in the budget too... So I am going to check out the partner hotels, from what I have read you can add on things like photopass, breakfast, DME... or even half or full board...

Im not sure you can add on half/full board if you are staying in a partner hotel

I'm not sure I'd buy the photo pass for a 2 or 3 day stay, unless you'd buy all the attraction photo's anyway, there aren't that many photo pass photographers

I have been thinking about this, so is the photo pass only on the rides? or is like at WDW where their are photographers taking pictures in front of the castle, and with character meet and greets... I was planning on buying a selfie stick for while we were in Paris, so that we both can be in some of the pictures... We are not those people who will walk around with it extened constantly... just few shots and put is away that we can enjoy the sites and each other....Are selfie sticks allow in the parks at DLP? here at WDW they are not allowed anymore due to a lot of problems with guest dropping them on rides, or holding them up on the coaster and them hitting something and flying off and hitting other guest.

Photopass are mainly the ride photos, very rarely are there photographers at character meets or around the park. Selfie sticks are also banned at Disneyland Paris
